That’s kind of a dumb statement. No, it actually is a dumb statement. Do you realize the last decade has been NJ kids leaving and becoming stars elsewhereLeave and play for another state and be forgotten
Stay and play for your people and be a God.

I am convinced this *()&^%$ is not an RU fan.GS got Rutgers into the top 10 for one week almost 15 years ago, is best known in the nfl as the coach who had his team blitzing kneel downs while other teams were just ending a game up multiple scores, then proceeded to go to Ohio State and once he left the defense got much better! Not to mention DC at Ohio State means next to nothing as far as being a HC considering the DC there before Schiano arrived was a guy named chris Ash who won a national championship with them....
I’m not taking anything away from what he did here over a decade ago, but answer me this, if Greg is soo amazing why hasn’t any other team hired him as their HC when he’s been available since 2013? What other team this year had any interest whatsoever in him as a HC besides Rutgers?
I will be the first to admit I hope I am wrong and will gladly eat crow if I’m wrong, however I believe strongly that this was not a good hire for Rutgers moving forward and old fans are just having a moment of nostalgia seeing his name
But he's not wrongI am convinced this *()&^%$ is not an RU fan.
Hs recruits don’t remember 2006, they were 3-4 years old at that point. Hs seniors this year were in 3rd grade when Greg left for the Bucs.... Greg needs to basically come in and start over from scratch, not saying he can’t do it but this ‘clout’ that many fans think Greg has within HS football circles is really nothing special. There’s a reason no one hired him when he’s been available the last 6 years. Once we start being competent on the field and develop our own style that’s when the higher level recruits will start taking notice.

A LOT of truth here. He's right! Lol...u guys need some realityTroll alert!!! Dude, you should at least mix up some positive posts in your barrage of negative posts. Rookie mistake. You need to practice your trolling skills.
At least we finally agree on something.Thats ok, I am a complete dope
A LOT of truth here. The small minds will be upset
But, GS has been above board since coming back. He's been quite impressive in all aspects thus far. Hard to deny this
The thing you and yessir don’t understand is that you are spinning the truth as a negative. Yes, GS got us in the top 10. We would all like to see that again. GS was a HC in the NFL. Not many people have that on their resume. He was offered the job by Tenn but we all know how that ended. But you two have fun with it. Keep trolling. You guys look dumb when you can't articulate a cohesive retort to a post you call a troll.
Dopes on display
This is the only part that matters now that he is back: how does he perform in round two? I don't see how any Rutgers fan can be unhappy at all with how things have gone thus far. Energy is back, optimism is back, staff is coming together nicely, and recruiting is on a major upswing. Everyone knows your thoughts on how this will play out. No need to constantly bring them up.But, GS has been above board since coming back. He's been quite impressive in all aspects thus far. Hard to deny this
100% agree with this however. I was clearly making a point regarding the other yahoos which is evidentThis is the only part that matters now that he is back: how does he perform in round two? Yessir321 - If you are a R fan, we don’t need POS loser fans like you. If you are a troll, which is my guess, GTFO, loser.
What is with this massive negativity? You shrug off every single actual accomplishment and focus on peripheral negative nonsense. What did he do? He took over the absolute worst D1 program EVER and turned it into a perennial bowl team. He beat 2 top 5 teams, went to 6 bowls in 7 years, and turned more of those "average 3*" kids into successful NFL players than anyone. Near the end of his first tenure, there was one point where RU had more players in the NFL than any other program.I really hope you are right however I truly believe you are mistaken. My worry is really what happens if/when GS fails, then what do our fans who are still holding onto 2006 have? Tennessee did try a few years ago and look at what happened, their fans basically rioted at the idea that he would be the coach, they used the Sandusky story as a scapegoat however the real reason was because they knew he wasn’t a good hire.
the reality is outside of Rutgers circles Greg schiano is not a coach anyone wanted yet our fans act like he’s the best possible option and we just landed this guy that everyone was chasing. Landing him as a coach is the equivalent of a 3* recruit with no other P5 offers choosing Rutgers, we have a bunch of those guys currently, how’s it turned out for us?
Don trell, you seem pretty sure he is staying home. I really hope you are right. It has been a long time since we got a New Jerseyan ranked this high to go to his own university. He’s going to Rutgers.
Entirely unnecessary.
Not sure what this means, but I do know the 'tudes that far South.
From the time I first met Bill Drooley at UNC and he blamed our record of having "too many folks from da "norr")
To my B-I-L that played at LSU and now lives just "north" (he hates me to say this) of Baton Rouge.

wasn't Saquon Barkely a verbal to Rutgers? If the kid is truly a stud it is tough to say no to 4 of the top perennial programs to choose Rutgers.
I project PSU or Wisconsin
The feeling I get is that Berger means more to RU than he does or would to the others.
While I agree to an extent, these kids can read. I wasn't alive when Jim Brown played football, but I know he was great.

Not a troll at all, I’m a Rutgers grad who makes the trip up from md at least 3 times a year for games, all I am expressing is my concerns and yes I do want them out early so in a couple years when this board is melting down because the lord and savior Greg is failing, I can simply remind people that it’s ok bc there’s a different approach we can take and maybe Rutgers will turn the corner.Troll alert!!! I wanna party with you.
Something changed fellas, lot of smoke coming out of Wisconsin

News is that Berger has publicly stated Rutgers is not a destination for him. Down to UCLA and Wisconsin.
Good luck to him.
Has Rutgers football ever had a contributor on the field who was a Wisconsin native?News is that Berger has publicly stated Rutgers is not a destination for him. Down to UCLA and Wisconsin.

Idk if "behind the eight ball" is a good description. New coaches with less then 2 weeks to singing day who are inheriting an already weak class don't normally pull off many blue chip recruits.Tough to swallow but not unexpected with Greg behind the eight ball recruiting for this class. Here's to hoping the next class turns out better.
