the angst and anger directed at iowa’s performance should be curbed. in hindsight pretty clear that the hawks would not have been permitted a win today no matter what.
Love the video evidence. The face mask was so obvious. And the hit out of bounds on Wetjen? WTF?
Just like the UCLA game last year, start off strong, finish the game like a bunch of pussies.
This. Totally embarressing for the B1G to bring in the Pac12 announcers and have them homer the entire game.
Hard to get pressure when you’re being held and it’s not being called.
If you don't think luck has anything to do with it, you haven't been paying attention. Wake the hell up, man. You can criticize Iowa for sure, but that doesn't mean you should overlook reality. Iowa got screwed by the officials over and over on obvious calls, and this thread provides the video evidence. Not to mention what do you call it when the potential game-winning 93-yard TD drive ends when the receiver slides out of bounds on a wet field by, maybe, half an inch? Half an inch the other way, and it's Iowa first and goal from the seven with under 2 minutes to play.

You notice Riley AND his assistant celebrating on the field and the ref came over and shoed them off the field with a warning. I guess those warnings only go for the home team.
Year after year? I’m talking about this year. I don’t recall this many bad breaks in prior years. Coaching aside, Iowa literally cannot catch a break on 50-50 plays this year. If you can’t see that I don’t know what to tell you.

He blitzed often against Indiana and if he wouldn’t have we would have lost big. He didn’t blitz against Oregon and should have, especially the last series. Didn’t blitz but a couple times today and thought he should have. Phil rarely deviates from his game plan. Iowa’s in game adjustments on both sides of the ball suck. Hard headed coaching staff. I’m ready for MG to sit and play for the future.
It started to feel that way when some of the most obvious holds were moving 10 yards down the field in front of the refs and they were like nothing to see here. Ending with the sideline penalty was the cherry on top.
Oh Bullsh--. They were knob gobbling USC from the opening kickoff. I thought it was Matt Lienart and Reggie Bush calling the game....
Iowa didn't do anything worth knob gobbling in the 2nd half.
And after the hit out of bounds the announcer says, "oh there just playing hard in a competitive game". So thats how it works now?
gave mine up 15 years ago, As long as Ferentz is the head coach Iowa will do nothing of significance. He is way past his shelf life and starting to think Parker is too.

Can't remember how many games where they said how much the team was missing our lanky receiver Vanderzee........ just wait til he's back they said. Well, he's been back and we've done nothing to get him the ball in situations that all other teams do against us with their tallest receivers. Fades, sidelines, man to man opportunities taking a shot downfield. Nada.
Again, then don't watch, and don't post the rest of the year. If "its over" for you, then leave the fans who care about the players efforts in peace the rest of the season.
Does the B10 need the West Coast exposure THAT much to try and ensure USC had a chance to get the W? My lord, I haven't seen so many obvious holds not get calls since back in Wisconsin's o-line's heydays!!
It didn't start in the second half. It was hard to figure out who were the bigger homers, the refs or the two as- hats calling the game.

MSU has taken a big step back while Iowa has taken a step forward. They lost by 2 TDs to Penn State.
I don't see Iowa dropping that game.
