Unless and until the Hawks prove they can:

1. Win out West.
2. Beat a ranked team.

…then the safe assumption is for a loss. I had this game penciled in as the toughest of the season and nothing has changed my mind.

Unlike some over exuberant fans on this board, I don’t blindly pick Iowa to win every game. In comparing both USC and Iowa, the Trojans are just better, especially at home.

That being said, I really hope the Hawks can pull this out. They need to get the monkeys off their back, and today is the perfect opportunity.

The statistical differences of these teams couldn’t be much larger. If the Hawkeyes can’t do anything on the ground, it’s gonna get really ugly.

Funny how everyone was picking iowa last week to upset Oregon. Watched the Oregon game last night and the announcers said next weekends game in Eugene will be huge for USC’s play off future, completely bypassing the Iowa game on the schedule while showing it on the screen. Hope USC is thinking the same thing and looking past Iowa. Iowa has been good to great on the road this season in B1G play. I’ll take the Hawks with the upset of USC after rewatching the Holiday Bowl beat down.

I feel like we have a chance of winning. We can slow down (hopefully) USCs offense and they have a pretty soft run defense from what I've seen. I still think USC will win though.

I like that the team didn't arrive until late afternoon yesterday.

I wonder if they fly back right after the game (makes for a quick business trip & you don't have to worry about the 2 hour time difference)

With 69 seconds left in the game, it will be 69-69.

The ending will be climactic.

Obviously, Iowa will need to run the ball well.

Lost conference road win against a ranked team might have been Northwestern in 2015

To take your minds off of the rain, there just now was a magnitude 3 quake at the Mendocino Triple Junction at the North end of the San Andreas Fault.
Ripple effect down the fault line to SoCal incoming? Who knows.

It's been a while since I've seen so many outlets believe the Hawks have no chance. Virtually no one had picked them to win. Hope we can prove them wrong.
