I truly don’t know what to make of Iowa. I guess like Maryland when hitting 3’s they can beat anyone but doesn’t happen very often. Not sure that Murray this year any way is all that.

They beat Indiana..have no bad losses so thats enough to keep them with a 20 NET

One win over Indiana (44 NET) at home is a) enough to keep them with a 20 NET, and b) enough to get them to the tournament. That's crazy.

Their resume is a paper tiger. Big wins over bad teams, and just one win against a team in the NET Top 60 (at home, no less.... and just 2 wins against the NET Top 80). They don't have a single win against a likely tournament team.

It really speaks to how skewed the NET is, imo, that Iowa is considered a Q1 win for 8 different teams (and Purdue twice).

Gonna watch Creighton instead. Can't take the Bill Walton talkshow with a game going on in the background.
I’m not sure why Creighton isn’t closer to a lock. I see almost no chance that don’t get in with wins @ UConn, @ Marquette, Villanova, and BYU (neutral) with only 8 losses as of now. They won 3 OOC neutral games (they have 7 or 8 total wins away from home)? How could that be competing for a spot with UNC or Florida?

Bohannon is nearly invisible. They don’t look to him it all. Looks like he’s shot.
While Geo is a Rutgers legend and has had many stellar moments this year, I find it interesting that for both he and Bohannon, it is looking like their last season will not be there best.

His defense is much more consistent and better and her is fitting better into a team concept and often stepping up when needed. I think he is having a terrific year.

Michigan NET doesnt matter because if RU is beating them its going to fall back anyhow....Michigan competing for a bid only hurts RU

Geo has come on strong after some sketchy earlier play. Paul taking the pressure off let's Geo play more natural, less forcing and his defense has been much better

His defense has, to me, been one of the best surprises of the season. Even in a few of his 2-10 games he has been active and willing on defense.

My premise for a disappointing season was about the loss of our best defensive players. Although long I thought the returning guys were not good individual defenders. Didn't give enough credit to Pikell and certainly not enough credit to Paul and Geo.

If the Illinois game was the end of the season, would you say this was the best of his 5 seasons? Just wondering if you agree with me or not because your response seems to be about this season and doesn't agree or disagree with my statement.

Geo and Paul stepping up their defense is a huge unsung factor of this turnaround. Ron too who when focused plays tough D.

I wonder if it's all Pike or how much Caleb factors in.... its gotta be awkward in film sessions watching Caleb's effort if you aren't at least trying your best to match it. His defensive effort has been contagious

A lot tougher without Luka Garza and Joe Wieskamp taking up all the attention.
If you are a really good 3 point shooter, it's quite easy getting wide open set shot 3's when the defense if focusing on someone else. Dennis Scott made a career of it

That's a great point that a home loss to us would clobber their NET. However, a win likely gets them well into the 20s. So win or lose, we'll pick up a Q1 win that day!

You're a valuable and excellent contributor to this board. But that is total nonsense.
What year do you think was Geo's best?

He's been consistently inconsistent most of his career

Other year's some big shots might skew the view of how good he actually was or wasn't for the entire season.

This is the best he has played defensively after some weaker efforts during the team slump earlier

What year was he better in?
Years 3 and 4 are both better than year 5. I'm debating whether year 5 is even as good as year 2. But because of the Ohio State game, I have to say it is.

If you want to say this has been his best defensive season, I can live with that.

Those were his 2 worst 3 point shooting years 28% and 30% ....ouch... thats not good at allllll.

Also lowest ppg outside of freshman year...

Why was he better?

I'll answer. It was the big shots. It skews everyone's views. It's natural

I don't like using stats for individual player analysis.....but from an offense statistical POV bart says this is his best year. Again......holes can and should be shot through this as my proof.

I have been one of Geo's biggest crtitics (not NIL). I'd love to see him dive on the floor more, but I have been very satisfied with his overall effort and defense this year. That has always not been the case.

I'm not sure is my answer.
I don't think that clearly it isn't.
I think the metrics by which I think of his performance have changed.
And I haven't been thinking of it as you pose the question.
