I know this will be moved or deleted - but damn things are just not going well for me right now. Work, family, friends - everything in a serious funk. I’m tired, I’m working too hard and not getting any return. This is the only place I have to vent. Just getting some out. That’s all. I have to make some life changes quick.

Carry on brothers. Carry on.
BlueWorldOrder74 I feel your pain but try to hang in there brother. I just found out today that my 85 year old dad got scammed out of $18.000. He got a phone call a few weeks ago from someone posing as his grandson (my son) saying he was in jail in Atlanta after being involved in a wreck and was arrested for a DUI. He said the passenger in the other car didn't survive.

The poser asked if he could post his bond and pleaded for him not to tell me about it. He even put his so called attorney on the phone who instructed my dad how to package and send the money. My dad sent the cash and that's that.

I try to remember these words of advice from one of my favorite people that I don’t actually know....

“If you have one foot in yesterday and one foot in tomorrow, you’re pissing all over today.”

I don’t know how old you are, but at my low point, I joined the Air Force and it changed my life in such a positive way. Opened doors that could have never opened on my own.

Mathew 11:28
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
I use to depend on the things of this world but it always left me miserable. Op I use to be so depressed and I would worry so much that I would worry about worrying. Afraid of dying cause I was diagnosed with a progressive disease, but yet wanted to die because of the misery.
It took a lot of life from me to the point where I stopped being a dad and a husband.
But one day I hit a breaking point that led me to Jesus Christ and I haven’t been the same since.
Each day I wake up and put on the whole armor of God (Gods word) which gives me strength to withstand everything this world tries to cripple me with.
I know you’ve probably heard the come to Jesus speech a thousand times and believe me I was always sick of hearing it. But I finally gave it all to God and submitted my life to him and he has truly given me hope, joy, and courage.
Love you brother and praying for you plus my rafter brothers and sisters.

I told my son that I love him, he said "okay". I asked him if he loves me, abd he said "eh, I don't know..." How's that for a kick in the stomach?

You’re one of my favorite people on this board. Please know that I’m here for you. You’ll be in my thoughts and prayers.
I have been going through some struggles myself..at times I’ve had difficulty getting out of bed. We lost my Dad suddenly last year. There was no warning whatsoever. Since then it seems like it been one thing after another. That’s why i kind of disappeared from the boards for a while. To top it all off I turn 50 in a few weeks. I know it’s not a very big deal but it’s hitting me harder than it should.
We all have something we are dealing with or have dealt with. I can’t tell you all how proud I am of this group for sharing their stories and encouraging each other. It doesn’t matter how much we bicker even to the point of nastiness, when it comes down to it, we are a family and we’re there for each other.

I am doing OK now, but I can definitely relate to having crappy times in my life. Getting hit by car, demotion at work, could not find a job in my field after getting a degree. Had to take some crappy jobs early, but I did some things that I had to do, but did not want to do. Eventually I took a high paying job, only to lose it 12 weeks later. Took a temporary job in the meantime, and found something that paid almost double the "high paying job". Even so, nowI had a house, good job, and I am single (open to marriage, but not actively seeking), there were times of unhappiness. I learned quickly that money doesn't do it; if all I am doing is working and trying to get more, what's the point? I have learned to become a well-rounded person. I am a drummer at two different churches (music is my passion; I could not imagine not having music). I am active in church, and I have hope. I've experienced loss, but not in the same way that some of you guys have. I know it's coming, and I am not looking forward to it. Like everyone else, I prayed for 93's daughter; I prayed for a miracle. My Grandmother has cancer now; we prayed for a miracle. It's in these cases that I cannot understand why.

Macy, I read what happened to you; a similar thing, although not quite as extreme happened to me. It's especially bad when you're offered a job, then someone reneges on the offer. When I got offered this job and this salary, I almost didn't believe it (make that, I didn't believe it, but hey, what could it hurt?). Even when I started working, I still thought that it wasn't real. It was only when I got my first paycheck did I realize it was real. Getting burned a few times makes you question everything. One thing we do know, some people suck, but there are so many good people when push comes to shove. As an INTJ (Melancholy Choleric), I am typically a loner, but I have learned to be much more social (I'm more of an extraverted introvert, if that makes sense); I find that we are meant to be social beings, and are not meant to go through life alone. But then again, getting burned by crappy people will make someone far less social.

There are but my background isn’t the best. It’s my fault I can’t get a job I was just saying be thankful you can. I’ve learned the hard way not to take a job for granted.

I had a guy tell me when I was going into the workforce and worried about my drug past:

“People love a good f’d my life up and rebuilt it” story. Far more than someone who was spoon fed or went through easily. I’m not sure about your background, but mine was absolutely pitiful. My advice for what it’s worth? Divorce yourself from that person, you’ve done your time. There are employers who value life experience and transformation. It sometimes takes a while to find them.

I agree about not taking a job for granted. For some it’s so easy, for others it seems nearly impossible. Been there. Hell, still there in some aspects really.

Hear ya buddy. In the process of putting my parent in a nursing home because she's homeless, pennyless and in piss poor health. You can only eat an elephant one bite at a time. Focus on the positives in your life and don't be afraid to admit you need help sometime. I know I have a lot lately.

As someone who’s in a family that does nothing but chase money 7 days a week, I’ve developed a few sayings.

If you chase money 7 days a week, you’ll see a therapist 4 times per month.

Chasing money doesn’t guarantee anything expect you’ll have a lot of weight in paper.

Sorry to hear that dude. I’ve been going through a similar slump the last couple of months and it really helped me to write down my worst, darkest thoughts when I’m going through it. Then when I’m not feeling so bad I can go back and look and realize it wasn’t as bad as I thought at that time.

Take a walk through a children’s hospital or a Veteran’s hospital. Visit a few nursing homes. Go to some ghetto looking areas. Then realize things might not be as bad as you think.

Unless you’re already a sick young person living in a nursing home in the ghetto after being diagnosed with PTSD from Afghanistan.

Must be something in the water. I myself have found myself in a funk lately. Been dealing with a lot of family drama that's put me in a slight depression. 99% of the time I am a very laid back positive guy. I am finding myself lately losing interest in things I love and it's all because of the load of stress I take upon recently. Makes things harder when its the offseason for UK sports, just helps to take my mind off stuff.

I'm not really pushing people away, but I've been overwhelmed with everything that I'd rather have some personal space than deal with people and I seem to have no "me time". This is so unlike me that it freaks me out a little bit.

I've prayed about it, I try to do things to help me take my mind off things. Just things keep going back to the stuff thats been going on making it hard to forget about it.

Sometimes life is about perspective. We can train our minds to find the negative in everything around us instead of looking at the good that is also there. We can't always change our circumstances but we can change the way we look at our circumstances.

I know Christianity may not be a cool thing to sell nowadays but having a relationship with God and Jesus helps me to see the world in a different way and helps me cope when life gets to overwhelming for me to deal with alone.

Solely judging you by your comments here you seem like a solid dude and someone who would make a great friend. Hang in there. You'll get through this.

Hang in there! I went through this a while back. Make some moves. Make the moves you know you need to even if it’s uncomfortable. Even if it’s a step back for you. Sometimes you have to shake things up. Take a day and do something you’d never otherwise do and let yourself out. But stay positive. Real friends will be there when you need them. Sometimes friends are distant because of what’s going on in their own life. You’re always a great poster. I know that’s not much of a consolation but I enjoy what you do for the site. I’m sure you just need time to yourself and a few laughs.

I certainly hope that things get better for everyone going through tough stretches. People seem to be very resilient. so I'm hoping there's some inner strength that can be found. My prayers are with you guys.
My thoughts exactly. Just asked God to bless all of you as we surely all need it dont we. It's a struggle that's why we're supposed to do it together.
