I love this team Grom but they missed 12 free throws. Typical Cal team. Cost us in 2011.
Free throws should improve some when Oscar replaces Ware, Toppin has been shooting them better than he did today. Collins is a good ft shooter as is Wheeler. We need to be around 70% to win a title! 46% from 3 was nice though!

No one has ever been a harder fan while also selling out so easy. I can’t help it.

Could this team really be the 2nd title? Could Calipari really correct his issues and be the dom over the next decade in college basketball?

Could he end up with 3 titles / 4 titles if all goes right? Like, the modern goat?
Take a deep breath and remind yourself that we played Howard.

I know most UK fans, yes, even the ones who strongly dislike the man, hope this team becomes Cal's 2nd title winner.

I will say, this team has quality players through the entire roster. Even the guys I thought wouldn't likely contribute, namely Thiero and Onyenso, are contributing. It's just a good sign. Now I know we need to recognize this was a MEAC team tonight and we need to hold our horses, even if they do look like thoroughbreds. 😀

But I guess the reason it's hard to contain the excitement about this team is because we've seen some good teams throw in some clunkers against teams like Howard. And the fact that these guys performed well without 3 key players is a big deal. The freshmen are looking to be living up to their billing. And Antonio Reeves is much better than the most optimistic fan could have imagined. Everyone is contributing.

I don’t dislike Calipari. I’m mad as hell at him for not taking the UK job seriously.

I like our chances if this is our lineup in late-March:

Wallace
Fredrick
Reeves
Toppin
Oscar

Wallace > Wheeler
Fredrick > Thiero
Reeves > Livingston
Toppin > Collins
Tsheibwe > Onyenso

That is one badass, legitimately 10-deep lineup. I would even say it’s a better lineup than 2015 after the Poythress injury. Cal has no excuses this year.

Hopefully y’all will thank me later. I will defeat the jinxers. This team is not good. Cal is old and in complete and utter decline. I’ll be happy to get to a Sweet Sixteen. Guaranteed this team will not get to the Final Four.

Cats out of the bag not healthy. Already have two starters out with injuries to start season.
Tbf Wheeler is the only one not good to go.

Oscar is ready but held out for these games where we just don’t need him.

Collins of course is held out for emotional and mental reasons right now. He will be back.

So really the only question mark is Wheeler.

You thinking we see Oscar for a little bit on Friday? That would be ideal to me... Let him play 5 min a half. Bet he still ends up with 8 and 8. Haha!

We looked really good against a mediocre team without 2 of our best.

My head tingled during a few plays. This team is good. Can be really really good. If they keep having fun and gel, this team will cut down the nets.

I sure hope so. I'm taking my 8 year old to the game Friday night and he absolutely worships Oscar (purely in a sports fan sense, lol). It would be a shame if my little guy got to see his first game at Rupp and Oscar doesn't go at all.

That's awesome man. I don't know where your seats are (and I don't know if this matters)... But during the exhibition games, Oscar wasn't warming up with the team, but he was hanging out just behind the goal. There was a line of people and he was signing autographs and taking pics with folks right there off the court, probably 15-20 people deep. If he's playing, he'll obviously be busy warming up, but if we start to get word he may not be playing, you might think about going early and seeing about trying to work your way into that line? This is obviously a real game and not an exhibition, so that might not be a possibility anyway. I want to say it was around 6:15pm when I saw this line next to the court at the first exhibition game. If it's possible, I'd like to think the blue-jacketed ushers would help an 8-year-old meet Oscar? Either way, I hope it works out for you and hope you guys have a great time!

1000%, thank you! Would be a memory my son will never forget if he actually got to meet Oscar, even if for just 1 second.

Look, I’m sorry if you’re brainwashed by Cal and believe every word he says and think he can do no wrong, but I’m at the point he better win or GTHO. He’s ruined this program enough.
I don't know about "brainwashed by Cal and believe every word he says and think he can do no wrong", but I like what I saw from the game. You're hatred for the guy is unhealthy.

Don’t knee jerk react. Too many did last year and we went home on a loss to a 15 seed. Need to see more and how cal handles PT. UK can put the best 5 in the country on the floor but I don’t trust cal to do it.
Some of y’all are too big a cowards to enjoy anything at all. We could all die in an alien invasion tomorrow. Stop worrying so much. Attempt fun.

That is why you shoot them in practice at the end when you are tired. No excuses for that many missed FT. PJ Washington killed us against a terrible K State team if you remember.

Wheeler shot his 2 ugliest free throws of the season last year down the stretch against St. Peters. Damn near airballed one of them short, if I recall correctly.

Take it slow and easy, over easy to be exact. A Monkey's song is more telling...

Take care... ;)
I am not jumping on that wagon.
It's weighted down now but it's subject to change depending on which direction the cat is headed.

Crazy my first is 8 too. Those ‘14 kids were close enough to the early 2,000’s to know a thing or two amirite?

Pro - tip

Oscar comes out after the game. Hang around and when he does ignore the security and walk close enough for him to recognize you. Point to the kid and he’ll ask him over. Got to meet him and get picks after being told I couldn’t go over. So I stood there quietly close enough for our eyes to connect, pointed down to my son, and he smiled and waved us over. They can’t do anything. Just walk down after it clears and he always comes out.

Great memories.

This ruined program is probably then favorite to win it all. Cal deserves a lot of criticism but you may be too far gone to pull the nose up. I only have to assume you’re rooting for our first loss

I got my wife a cameo from Oscar last year. She thinks they are dating now.
