There are few terrors in sports quite like breaking the huddle (offense or defense) and not knowing the play or where to line up. Especially if the coach is a redass. I played the simplest position on defense in college a million years ago, and I almost felt bad for the offensive guys in practice when they didn't know the play.
Our coach did when I was in Jr highAnyone else out there who has coached before that instantly thought, "why in the hell is a 7th grade coach using motion?" Good lord, most of the team would make that same mistake.
Remembering the snap count was more of a problem than motionOur coach did when I was in Jr high
Edit: most of the time it was to change the play. For instance if we set up wing right and ran sweep right successfully 2 times in a row he would call wing right motion and we'd run sweep left. This kept the defense honest and unable to cheat over
He's probably the son of a Jr High school teacher who they just need out of the play. Another solid C+ student pulling straight A's in Jr High, only to be a sold C student when he switches to high school.Anyone else out there who has coached before that instantly thought, "why in the hell is a 7th grade coach using motion?" Good lord, most of the team would make that same mistake.
I remember Thurman Thomas’ backup thoughNobody remembers Barry Sanders and Emmitt Smith’s back-ups either.

I think you're referring to Mike Corgan, the long time RB coach, and not the hockey player, right?DH's attitude reminds me a lot of Mike Corrigan. No nonsense, no BS.
