..without looking, and maybe i'll look like an idiot for not looking, i'm betting that our passing D looks that good because we can't stop a nose bleed in the rushing department and teams are rushing a lot more than passing and with 2 of our 3 games against high school competition and big leads, when teams are forced to pass because we're so far up, we know their going to pass. Michigan going to be a more accurate barometer for the overall D....sincerly, captian obvious. Haha

Looking at the glass half full, the solve for Michigan's run game is helped by NU's decidedly non-leaky pass D. And Michigan's leading receiver's stats would make him WR #4 for NU. The solve for Haynes and Underwood isn't easy, but them plus a couple of crafty WRs would be harder. Cortez Mills has 3 fewer receiving yards than their second WR.

Don’t care who our opponents have been with this stat. We have had some many years of poor special teams. And no emphasis on SP. Pay that man lots of money. Eck deserves it
Special teams is fairly opponent-less, so I agree. If you do the things you are supposed to.

Kwinten Ives 4th string? Mekhi Nelson 2nd string? Nelson did not play a single down last week and Ives saw a ton of action and did reasonably well. Somebody make sense of this for me?
Nelson would have had a monster last week had he not been held out for coaches decision. He must be looking way better in practice.

I was not that impressed with Ives. He did ok, but he is not fast, has no shake and bake, and misses the proper angle through holes too often. He has good hands as a receiver, but so do the other guys. I think 4th string is where he belongs. I was just surprised to see his demotion be that sudden after Nelson was in the doghouse.

Did average 7.1 yards per carry last week. Emmet was 6.0. Not trying to say he's better. Just noting the stats.

I'm not saying this will translate to this game, but Dylan has been throwing into some nice tight windows. The throws in the moment look easy, but once you look at the view from behind the offense they are impressive. We haven't had any qb's that could make those type of throws consistently, let alone make it look routine.

Hopefully he can keep that up when needed with a bit more of stretching the field here and there.
