I think he is really good coachDidn't know where to put this but this seems like a coach thread. Anyways, I'm seeing that Evan Bradds is a candidate for the Belmont University HC job. He was a player there from 2013-17.
Wonder what his buy out would be since they just extended him recently through 2029-2030 seasonI think Wilson's injury saves Hubert. But the 19-point lead has me thinking Hubert might be in danger of a buyout.
lol I was about to say bet that goes well. See ya in 3 yrsGood luck with that GT.
Also saw where some are saying he will be given a chance to resign first to save face . To be fair I think his gm sucks and the Wilson injury hurt their advancing . Then again it’s UNC.A lot of smoke that Hubert will be fired this weekend.
He isn’t coming back to NC . I’m from his home county and know some of his kin . He has no interest in returning .Kelvin Sampson would be a good hire.
Bruce is a goat come on bleed! And Wes to Charlotte is a good fit, he can win thereWes Miller is going to UNC Charlotte. Bruce Pearl is a sleazeball car salesman.
Bruce is a slimeball, dude. And I would pull for the terrorists before I would pull for the tarholes.Bruce is a goat come on bleed! And Wes to Charlotte is a good fit, he can win there
I honestly don’t think they should fire him either. I think they’ll end up in a worse positionI agree with everything that's been said about Hubert, but I can't help to think that while he's not done the best job the past five years, he has won 70% of his games as Head Coach. How many coaches have won 70% the past five years?
I don't think they should fire or make him resign. I think they should make him get a better assistant coaching group, they obviously are not good.
Yeah, 70% isn’t bad, but he isn’t coaching at VT or Boston College.I agree with everything that's been said about Hubert, but I can't help to think that while he's not done the best job the past five years, he has won 70% of his games as Head Coach. Yup. And if you take away all the cupcakes every power school plays, he’s likely in the 55%-60% range against other power 5 teamsYeah, 70% isn’t bad, but he isn’t coaching at VT or Boston College.
I completely agree, but those coaches at VT or BC don't even win 70% of their games. I think Forbes at Wake has been better than average and he's not at 70%. Hubert stinks but 70% isn't that bad. You will not find many, if any, coaches that get fired with that winning percentage.Yeah, 70% isn’t bad, but he isn’t coaching at VT or Boston College.
I get what you’re saying. But, he coaches at a blue blood program. In his first season, they were just mediocre, but miraculously caught lightning in a bottle and made a run to the title game. In that game they blew a double digit halftime lead. Four starters back the following season, they don’t even make the tournament. His next two seasons they get get beat in the first round.I completely agree, but those coaches at VT or BC don't even win 70% of their games. Nice to see Wes land on his feet. He always seemed like a decent guy and a pretty good coach, if not top tier.Wes Miller is going to UNC Charlotte. Bruce Pearl is a sleazeball car salesman.
Despite the abysmal end to this season, I thought Hubert did enough to earn a final make-or-break season. But it looks like he won't get it.I agree with everything that's been said about Hubert, but I can't help to think that while he's not done the best job the past five years, he has won 70% of his games as Head Coach. You have to wonder if they are willing to pay what it takes to get the level of coach they need. And if they are, you have to wonder why they were so slow to pay what the current climate demands to land the best players.I honestly don’t think they should fire him either. Fair point. Do you want him gone? Every Carolina fan I know does-You have to wonder if they are willing to pay what it takes to get the level of coach they need. And if they are, you have to wonder why they were so slow to pay what the current climate demands to land the best players.
Hubert seems to do well when he has enough healthy, top-caliber players. He had a few his championship run, and a few their Sweet 16 year, and a few this season, until Wilson's injury. But in each of those cases, they didn't have much room for error.
Hubert may not be a coach who does more with less, but Carolina, like Duke, should never find itself with less. Scheyer has made sure not to find himself in that position, but Hubert didn't.
Pisgah, it's funny, I only know two that don't want him fired, and they're the only two sensible unc fans I know. All of them like him. But they want to win, obviously, and this isn't working.Fair point. Do you want him gone? Every Carolina fan I know does-
