Whether they had 2's in or not, OSU was not pressing on any short passes. Anything up to 10 yards were gimmes. Heck did make some crisp passes and had a quick release, but not sure how he would have done in quarters 1-3. vs. an aggressive D. Iowa had their starters in the game at the end of the 1st half, and went to a somewhat prevent defense. It made it easy for OSU to move the ball, just in the same way Heck got some easy looks in the 4th quarter.
Really. So they just kinda.. laid off a bit.

After Texas?

Really?

No. Nice try. But no.

For OSU playing back ups and moving to zone? Doubtful.
Both starting corners and the FS played that entire series. The rest of the D was a mix of starters and twos. Kenyatta was out because he got dinged earlier. The D line was still shoving the O line into the backfield. They played a mix of zone and man that series.

Beyond long term discussion. If you have qb2 with similar capabilities, one game before a bye, it makes sense to give him a shot to ensure Hank fully heals. But Hank definitely has some different strengths that are valuable when first read isn’t there or oline is struggling.

Whoa, there. What shut down Iowa's pass game under Brown was Brown missing WIDE OPEN receivers. Brown was awful. His timing was terrible, his throws were wobbly, and he was sacked because his decision-making was slow and poor. Any other questions? LOL
Pretty funny they had to review a pass for deflection because of how his spiral was looking. Maybe the injury was there during practice and just got worst on sack?

Can we all agree we have 2 very average QBs? Some qualities differentiate each other, but both are not true 1st string P4 quality. They would be good backups and are a big improvement of what we have had the last several years (minus MG)

So what do you do going forward? If you truly think Sullivan or Bessinger have the higher upside....you need to play them next year. It doesn't make sense to string Hank and Heck a long another 1 or 2 years.

Looking into the future ....Now in 3 years...you will have the same situation where you are breaking in a new QB (Bessinger for example) and start all over. Yes he will be in the system but no game time reps.

Unless you think Hank or Heck has this huge upside potential going forward...I say you just play for the future next year. Or hell get a transfer then like MG.

Continuing to have average QB the next 2 years with these guys just sounds so damn deflating

Thoughts?

So I was right that they played zone and had back ups in. Thanks for confirming!

Nothing like a mogging the whole forum on a Sunday afternoon.
