That twitter account is not verified
But, I'm sure he gives SHU a look since they need a center. Obiagu stinks
On Twitter Harms to Seton Hall
Seton Hall, Syracuse Iona and Minnesota among the schools that have contacted him.
Harms would be perfect for Seton Hall ... The Land of Soft Bigs. Harms flops around like those roadside sock puppets they use to advertise tire sales.

and he got dunked on by one of our guardsI don't think he is soft, he is just tall and thin so not going to be a bruiser type, he seemed energetic and scrappy to me. If wanted to come to RU I would take him, he is four inches taller than anyone on our team.
Is it me or does it seem like Seton Hall is in on every transfer this offseason.
Plus he can get schooled by Billmeier the asst coach on how to refine his crybaby complaining skills.
Haarms is not coming to SHU...using the last ship for something potentially better now that Aiken just committed. He was a much better player last year before concussion problems.
Aren’t you an angry one - lol. He is a solid player but we already have 2 centers next year. There simply would not be any room for him on this roster. I hope he lands at a place he likes. I’m sure he will contribute wherever he lands.Guys come one. He has played in more NCAA tournament games than any player in Rutgers history... he is 7’3”, he played 22 minutes a game for for an elite eight team last year averaging 9.5 ppg, 5.5 rpg and 2.1 bpg. This year he played 20 minutes, 8.6ppg, 4.5 rpg and 2 bpg. On Rutgers that would make him 4th in scoring, 4th in rebounding and 1st in blocks. He is better than both douc and shaq. If we had Haarms this year we win at least 2 more games this year.... pikiell would welcome him with open arms if he could get him
He would never come to Rutgers. He may even laugh if they gave him a call. it would make no sense to leave a school that goes to ncaa tournament every year to one that hasn’t gone in 30 years.

You really haven't watch how Pike constructed his team. Rutgers is no longer taking warm bodies just to say we got one. Pike's team is more about positionless basketball with size. Haarms is a guy who doesn't dominate at either end of the court. Myles has the ability to be a threat on offense and defense. Cliff, if hype plays out, can dominate a game from the defensive end of the court. What exactly does Haarms bring other than size? Besides, Haarms has to be the right fit and right now he's not.not angry at all just seeing people imply he wouldn’t be a big time addition to our team is a little silly.... with Haarms we would be an elite 8 team... imagine going Myles, Cliff and Haarms... that would be a top five front court in the country. We would be able to play against any team with any line up regardless of foul trouble...

Elite 8 team? You mean the team that rode the back of Edwards and Cline for 36 pts a game? With Edwards and Cline both gone, Haarms (3rd leader scoring on that team) took a step back. His stats went down across the board. He went from a key member of Purdue to a guy who lost his way in the rotate as far as importance. Now he's transferring out because HC Painter thinks he has better players to fill that position. Rutgers doesn't have to reach for guys like that anymore when you have players like C. Omoruyi and Jones willing to come here. Hell, there were people who cried when Eugene Omoruyi left. They said this team would be worse and it turned out to be better. Sometimes you don't mess with the plan and/or the chemistry of the team.warm body? He is a 7’3” blocks shots, alters shots and can score at the same rate our guys can score. He averaged 20 minutes a game on an elite 8 team.
I wouldn’t kick someone off the team for him but if a spot were to open up i would take him in a heart beat. 7 footers do not grow on trees.

Who do you see sitting so that Haarms could get minutes? Myles? Cliff? Rutgers doesn't play the style where Haarms could see important minutes. He could take Duke's minutes and that's every 3rd game for 5 to 8 minutes. The minutes are spoken for and that why Pike only wanted a transfer willing to sit out. Why else was Pike willing to pass on Luther Muhammad from Ohio State. Muhammad would have been a great fit for the style of Rutgers.
Get back with me once you understand the basic principles of team chemistry, schemes, style of play and sports in general. Let me give you an example of what I mean. Back in the 80s, the St. Louis Cardinals won a ton of games and the World Series. They didn't do it with the long ball like most teams. Manager Whitey Herzog built his team around speed. He traded away his all-star catcher, who had some power because he didn't fit the scheme. The same can be said for Rutgers. There is no real playing time for Haarms based on the current Rutgers roster. Yeboah fits better then Haarms because Pike wants positionless players who can play multiple (1 thru 4) positions. The only position that requires a big man is the center position. Haarms is not taking Myles spot, and Cliff is a program changing type of player. By playing Cliff, Pike is playing the long game. Haarms is a quick fix that really doesn't fit the program at Rutgers.Let me get this straight we take akwasi yeboah from stony brook but not 7’3” center from Purdue who, I will say it again, has more experience than any Rutgers player, has played in more ncaa tournament games than any Rutgers player in history, played in the elite 8, is 4th all time in blocks at Purdue over 3 seasons, averaged 20 minutes per game in the big 10 for a program that is much better than Rutgers... we cannot get ahead of ourselves we had one good season. Let’s not forget that we were one Eric Hunter free throw away from wanting to fire pikiell...
Myles is in constant foul trouble and cliff is a freshman... not a one and done freshman. A battle tested senior from the big 10 is better than a untested freshman. I hope cliff is great but many on this board have said he needs some time to develop.
To say you wouldn’t take Haarms is ridiculous.. they said tomorrow he will release some names. Supposidly Kentucky, Louisville, Gonzaga, Arizona are among other programs that have reached out BUT Rutgers wouldn’t take him? Come on.
Any minute haarms would play for us would be a wasted minute. What is so difficult to understand? Compared to what we have, haarms blows.not angry at all just seeing people imply he wouldn’t be a big time addition to our team is a little silly.... with Haarms we would be an elite 8 team... imagine going Myles, Cliff and Haarms... that would be a top five front court in the country. Newsflash. Louisville and Arizona aren't rated ahead of us next year. And I'll believe Gonzaga or Kentucky acquire him when I see it. He just announced his cut list and as expected SHU not on it.Was told the same thing the other night

There's some truth to Pike managing Myles' situation, but overall, Myles did a better job of avoiding fouls this year. Myles' minutes are up from last year (17.5) to 23.6 this year. He reduced the average fouls per game from 2.7 last year to 2.5 this year while seeing more time on the court. The other factor most people overlook has to do with the refs. Certain B1G refs call games differently. Since the day Rutgers entered the B1G, refs have been hard on Rutgers with the numbers of fouls called on them. Compared to the rest of the league is has been criminal at times. I do think that is slowly changing as Rutgers gets better. The argument for not taking Haarms seems to be Cliff in year 1 will be better than Haarms year 4. I don't think that will be the case but I guess we (hopefully) shall see. Also, Myles does have foul issues, he did not foul out of games because Pike is very conservative and sat him long stretches with early fouls, even not starting him in some games.
You may have some reasonable points in your first paragraph, but this last sentence hurts your credibility. It is irrefutable that RU was going to make the NCAA Tournament this year. It is also irrefutable that Purdue was not going to make it unless they won the B10 tournament. He would never come to Rutgers. He may even laugh if they gave him a call. it would make no sense to leave a school that goes to ncaa tournament every year to one that hasn’t gone in 30 years.
Did you follow CBB this year or just talking nonsense
Arizona, Arkansas,BC,BYU, Memphis, Minnesota, UNCG better than us???
only teams I would rank higher are Gonzaga, UK and maybe Memphis
“Purdue grad transfer Matt Haarms tells me he has cut his list to the following programs:
Arizona
Arkansas
Boston College
BYU
Gonzaga
Kentucky
Memphis
Minnesota
Texas Tech
UNCG”
A couple good programs in there. Most better than ours as it stands today.
