Can't you just Jew them down?
[laughing]
-18k to 10k ...how can one do that with a straight face. "I was trying to rape you...but since you asked nicely i will cut my price in half."
but that much of a drop is dubious.
Yeah, but if someone wanted me to clean out one month's worth one chicken's **** from a coop I would charge at least $250. If we're talking five chickens, the value of my time is $15,000 a year and I'm never getting ahead on this deal.with about 5 chickens it shouldn't take you but a couple years and a lot of egg eating to "recoop" your losses.
Dude knew the original quote so he came in solidly lower. Then probably remembered this was for a friend and dropped to break even or below.-i understand the market and escalated pricing bases on scarcity of labor...but unless there was a design change and he is willing to do the job for 45% less in labor signals he was trying to get over on willy.
-not saying the guy is a bad person. I am all for making as much one can...especially off people like willy. I negotiate cost all the time...but that much of a drop is dubious.
*looks at water leaking into cracks in garage we saw when we walked through a year ago*-Getting contractors to do work is tough. Ts.
That is true. Also **** loads of hippies.Well, there's already chickens walking around everywhere down here anyway.
-i drop a point or two here and there to land projects. Did it yesterday, dropped 4k...on a 200k bid. 8k on 18k is ballsy.

I was driving through Staten Island in February and nearly ran into four of the biggest turkeys you can imagine. I mean, I could have saddled one of these things up and taken a ride on it.
Per google, apparently the place is overrun with them. WHO KNEW?

Not hippies in the normal sense. There aren't a bunch of people listening to the Grateful Dead and Phish burning patchouli. It's more people that are okay living on a boat and rowing in to town every day. To me that sounds pretty terrible, but hell they're saving 12K/year doing that. And for someone trying to do as little work as possible for the rest of their life that's quite a bit of coin. That is true. Also **** loads of hippies.
