He was awful the first 35 minutes of the game. Sure he boarded and (finally) hit a few layups late, but he was AWFUL.

Anybody not expecting sweet 16 flameout to scrubs is out of their minds. We will give up 85. 4 more players to the NBA. Another wasted NC shot.
Their best play was for us to knock it out of bounds under their basket so they got to throw it in from their own baseline. Automatic layup or free throws. It really was uncanny how easily they scored from that all night. That's a pretty regular occurrence in basketball, you'd think perhaps we might practice defending it.
This. He was even pulling Briscoe and others out of FT line huddle when we were on our run and had the vibes, just to scream and yell...
I guess it's hard to get a new crop of freshman to learn what it takes to play elite defense unless you have a Witch and a MKG every year. I could be wrong, JMO
All summer we heard that this would be one of Cal's best defensive teams and reality is the polar opposite. You can't get the transition buckets you. need on a night like tonight when you don't get stops.
