This team has very little chance of getting to a regional final playing our current level of defense. They have no pride.

I love Cal and generally think he doesn't get enough credit for his in-game coaching, but he got flat out owned tonight by Barnes, again. Tennessee kept running the same action and inbounds plays over and over and we made zero adjustments.

They're going to have to figure out something that works on defense with this group or you can kiss #9 and probably even a final four goodbye. Scoring 85+ a game is nice but you have to be able to make the other team at least work for it on the other end.

At least we seemed to figure out Bam should be option #1 every trip down the floor. Wish they wouldn't have waited 34 minutes to do it but whatever.

I've seen my share of throwaway F-it SEC road losses and a cocky team starting four frosh and a slumping soph had one coming in late January/early February no matter how ****** the league is...

BUT, IMO, this team has looked pretty ****** for 5 straight games. I think some of it is the grind of the season, some are these gawd awful SEC refs and some of it is our defense.

We were ripe tonight and have been for the last few weeks. Better get it together for Saturday.

did anyone really think this team was going to go 18-0 in SEC play?
Against this SEC? Yeah, I kind of thought they might. The Zags beat the piss out of the WCC every year and that league is as good as the 2017 SEC. And that's exactly how the committee will look at a loss like this. If you're in a league this bad, you need to take care of business.

Duke lost at home to Miami by 16 two years ago and went on to win it all, so this isn't a deal breaker.

But Briscoe has to get his head out of his ***, or we ain't doing ****. And I really hope Monk doesn't have one of his "1 for 9 from deep" nights in the 2nd round.

I really don't think you appreciate how bad Gonzaga's conference is. St. Mary's is generally the second best team. They're also generally an NIT team. They started a 6'5" fat kid at center against the good Wiltjer team.

* Kaylee adding a few lbs has done wonders for her. Gorgeous.

* The wife didn't appreciate the multiple defamatory comments towards a specific official. Nor did she appreciate the remote shattering off of the basement wall. Women.

* Of course worse teams have won the title, but you are flirting with next to impossible territory. The fact that we can't get a stop when we need it is the most alarming deal with us. You aren't getting out of the S16 without being able to shut a team down. Couple that with our coach's wonderful ability of clamming up when it gets close and you are going to have an early exit.

* Fox's D is strictly mental. Zero reason, other than being soft, for not being an elite defender.

Cal isn't dumb. He obviously knows our perimeter defense is miserable, and it's increasingly apparent that we can't switch everything and we simply don't know how to defend screens. So we trapped today.

Maybe we'll see zone next? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

One thing we enjoy most about Cal is his bullish arrogance about all-things UK...but that same arrogance has some infuriating tendencies....

....he's reaching 2013-14 levels of side-line crazy with this team, and anybody watching the game can tell it's affecting the players.

Fox has also been on the business end of some ****** SEC calls. Maybe that's why he's terrible all of the sudden. Dude was getting NDPOY vote a month ago.

Three of the SEC's 14 teams have triple digit RPIs. Seven of 10 WCC schools are 100+ with BYU hanging out at 99.

Tennessee's RPI was 63 prior to beating UK. That's higher than all but two WCC teams (Gongaza and St. Mary's).

These aren't the same things.

We struggle with small teams more than you'd think. Notre Dame damned near beat the 2015 team with one dude over 6'5" and we were f'n huge that year.

Maybe go four guards against small teams? When Mulder's healthy again, of course. Let Briscoe be the 6'3" power forward he truly is.

Also, did someone decapitate the team manager who didn't wipe the floor postgame? If not, why not?

Fair enough. I'll concede that.

The SEC is dog **** and if we lose to a 10-9 Tennesee team we should be crushed for it. Going 16-2 in this conference (Which right now feels optimistic.) wouldn't be anything spectacular.

If you could put Bam on last year's team, would that team have been a better title contender than this year's team?

Cal says maybe young team needs to lose a few, get humbled. "I hate to lose, but sometimes it's good. Maybe we got arrogant."

I'm pretty sure he said the exact same thing the first two times we got beat. Hell, can you imagine how much they'll learn from an NCAA Tournament loss?!

They were 63% from the FT line. I'd really like to know why we didn't turn it into a FT contest. Especially as fast as Fox gets the ball to the hole. Could have had 4-5 more possessions.

KenPom is now updated, and we're still 15th in defensive efficiency, somehow. Also still 2nd in offensive efficiency and 2nd overall.

Math is weird.

* Anth don't lump me in with this ******* again. I haven't broke **** since 2012.

*So... @IsRichieGonnaStart can we admit Fox is a **** on-the-ball defender? Do you get it now?

*Briscoe's DOPEASS stats are going to take a dive in SEC play and you won't see BBDK pimping them near much by the end of Feb, IMO.

*Road games in the **** SEC can DIAF. I don't know why I get so worked up over them but I'd like to see my favorite team WIN, I guess.

*Say this pretty much every year but I wish Cal would STFU and let his teams re-adjust and figure **** out. His maniac *** does the team zero favors. Especially the kiddos.

Fox sprained his ankle, and went to the locker room to put on big gold hoop earrings and Jordan's.

I'm not big on Texas ball players, tbh. Should have played football.

For a game with 78 or 79 possessions, conceding 82 on the road against a decent offensive team isn't heinous.

Yes, Geese. I get it. Thought he was really good at the beginning of the year. Not so much as of late. Specifically watched him last night on d. Doesn't get low enough and play the angles correctly.

The whole thing last night was a total systems failure. Worst performance all year by far. ****** shooting night, no rythym, dudes slipping, careless turnovers, on and on and on.

The way that UT team bullied us in the paint to get any shot they wanted is glaring.
