In the days of 27" tube tvs and VCRs, this color floor was fine.

But in the era of HD, 50"+ screens? Marcus put the pink/orange seats back in Rupp while you're at it...Rupp Arena logo with the target dot...and the Lexington Center logo.

I'm sure it's different when viewed from the players/VIP tunnel though.

* Had an awesome weekend....

Friday = gotta love a good lazy Friday evening. Stayed in. Nice meal. Watched Dateline. Read a little bit. Snuggle with Booker. Early to bed.

Saturday = ran an easy/slow 10 (furthest I've run in 2 months, per injury). A little picnic date on the riverwalk. Then front row/SPLATTER ZONE seats to Toxic Avenger: The Musical.

:joy::joy:

Walked out absolutely covered head to toe in gunk/goo/slime/fake blood/etc.

Sunday = Saints game/company dime/hash tag suitelife. Great game, too.

* I'll take the lead on this, for anyone else wondering about my tv watching pattern --> didn't get in WestWorld or Walking Dead last night.

* Football thoughts:

- it's amazing how Barker's injury may have been the best thing to happen to our offense all year. forced us to run the ball, which of course it what stoops wanted to begin with. what a fantastic backfield.
- strange hearing the announcers gush about our O-line
- we beat Austin Peay for 6, and i think we get 1 more between Georgia/Tennessee/Louisville.
- i think we're seeing a great example of why you give a coach 5 full years to rebuild a program. it's really coming together

* Basketball:

- brad calipari = [banana]
- adebayo looks like dwight howard, build wise. jesus, what a beast
- cal just playing mind games with monk, or nah? typical coach criticism = needs to work on defense
- the aaron fox = :popcorn:

* Anyone made the leap to Criquet yet?

I love Criquet shirts, but it's hard to throw down $60-70 for a polo shirt imo. Surprised you are doing that when you can get 2nd run Polos at TJ Maxx or Stein Marts for $30.

If Stoops wins 7 this year and keeps it up next year, Ol' Mitch is gonna plop a thick, hearty slice of Pain de Campagne in the broiler and break open some vintage grass fed 2%.

He will get the last laugh (followed by a quick prayer)

Is smoking allowed in Vegas casinos? Was in French Lick this weekend, and everything I took with me smells like smoke. That smell will knock you out if you're not used to it. Don't mind people smoking outside, playing golf, etc....but next to you at the Blackjack table or playing craps? No thanks.

Monday Randos:

- I'm the opposite- I love adults who really get into Halloween. I think it's hilarious. I often wish I was one of them, but I just never get around to thinking about costumes and have never been much of a decorator.

- Helluva chill weekend. Grabbed a 6-pack buzz both nights. Watched some football, baseball and basketball. It was awesome.

- Really glad we're taking this World Series to a Game 6. You just can't beat baseball in October (besides basketball in March) as far as pure drama.

- Speaking of...gee, what a novel concept using your 105mph flamethrower in MORE than just save situations and for MORE than just the ninth inning. :mad: F'ing Dusty Baker.

- The Bengals are done.

- Man, that new scoreboard looks :fire: on TV. Can't wait to see it in person.

- Gabriel's ballhandling skills are **** but the dude has a nice stroke. He'll be a beast 4-man by his sophomore year.

- You can tell why Cal loves this squad so much. Long, physical and athletic. There are some mean dudes on this team.

- Watched the new Oasis documentary "Supersonic" last night. It was pretty good. Not as good as the Amy Winehouse doc, but good nonetheless , due mostly to the toxic relationship between Liam and Noel Gallgher. What a great band. Wonderwall, Champaign Supernova and Don't Look Back In Anger are three of the best songs of the 90s.

- My favorite beer, Bell's Christmas Ale, is back.:cheers2: So good.

- Bill Simmons show is getting awful ratings. Just terrible. Curious to see how long HBO sticks with him considering what he's getting paid. The Ringer is pretty ******, too, if we're being honest. I think he's written maybe 2 articles on the site.

- Most underrated football AND basketball jerseys in the land? Love the color scheme and font. Unique.

-At least the sweet *** RUPPArena logo made the jump. Couldn't have found an 11 year old to improve upon that, I guess.

-3 year old birthday party yesterday was a success. Last one of those we're ever throwing at our house. Christ, if you have a lingering house project or fallen behind on some yard stuff, just schedule one of those. Pretty sure we're all set for 2017 at this point. Miserable.

-Mostly listened to the game while I worked in the yard. Though I am not a big Tom Leach fan, it's nice to do that every so often, I guess.

Worship Jeff Piecoro, though. Not sure if he gets enough credit tbh. I'm sure everyone mostly associates him with the Reds, but he's kind of become a UK Football fixture for me. Wouldn't mind seeing him take on a more active role, somehow, with UK media.

-After working around the house all weekend and eating scraps when I could, I crushed 3 bowls of chili last night. Was fun, but yea, costly.

-Atlanta tomorrow-Thursday for work. Business and all, but needed time away. Back in the office Friday and then 64 East bound for this big November game with implications against Georgia... :fire::fire:

-Even up 3-1, still didn't feel better than 66 percent about the Tribe's chances to close the thing out. Cubs are just better. Now I think it's 50-50, even up a game.

Tomlin's been great, and I have no qualms about Kluber pitching Game 7 even on three days rest(again), because his pitch count hasn't been that high either time. But Arrietta was just nasty in Game 2, and they get Schwarber back full-time now that they're back on AL soil.

Any Cleveland fan would've been happy to take this scenario(up 3-2 and back home for the rest) before the series began, but I'd be lying if I said that tomorrow night didn't set up pretty well for Chicago. Then all bets are off.

I will say that Francona is an absolute wizard when it comes to this stuff, so if anyone can get one win before the other guys get two, it's him.

-Think Cal starting Gabriel over Monk has more to do with boosting Gabriel's confidence than anything Monk-related.

-I love having out-of-town guests spend the weekend at our house, but man, it just throws everything off. We weren't even that busy, but just the stress of making sure everything is on point leaves you worn out.

-One bag generic terrible candy, one bag "good" candy. Put good stuff in first, cover with generic stuff, hope for bad weather, good candy left over for Dad. That's the veteran move.

On one hand Its nice to see recent former Reds do well in the World Series. On the other it sucks to holy hell. I think my first taste of that phenomenon was Paul O'Neil and the Yankees.

Oldest woke up at 4am Saturday morning shitting himself and puking his guts out. We had family pictures scheduled for my in-laws. Mother-in-law is battling cancer and was having a good week so there was no chance my wife was going to reschedule. I wasn't hoping for him to throw up during one of the pictures. That would've been so mean. I repeat: I did not want the camera to catch the exact second that vomit came rushing out of his mouth. No sir.

Trick or treating is in jeopardy this year. Got a call 30 minutes after I dropped my daughter off that she had started puking. Pretty sure the middle kid will get it today too.

I watched about 5 minutes of the basketball game. Couldn't get over the shade of blue being slightly different. Also the uniforms are ugly. Don't like Monks nose. Ball bounces too quietly on the floor. Miserable.

That said, the blue and white football uniforms are beautiful. The checkerboard sleeves look awesome. And guys, we are winning the East. Tennessee is an absolute disaster. Full blown Billy G sitch going on. Georgia goes down Saturday. NovemBert is going to get Florida. So is a resurgent LSU. Catlanta.

Haven't dressed up for Halloween since I was a kid. Always thought I'd make a good Gomez Adams tho.

Really hoping for a game 7. Would rather see the cubs win but don't really care either way. Just love the drama. Love sports!!

We're getting into full-zip fleeced vest weather guys. Favorite apparel of the year. Columbia, Patagonia, The North Face - can't go wrong with any. Matches well with an oxford or even a solid color under armour tee for casual Friday. Love the look and feel of fleece vests

First legit 2+ day hangover ove had in a long time:

Landed at OHare Friday evening rolling right by the plane that had been on fire a couple hours earlier... that was odd. Assumed Wetcat was on that flight?

Went to a rooftop party at a friends building on the edge of Wrigleyville for the Friday game. Awesome set up. Hung out with some old fraternity buds that live up there. Pretty wild looking down at the streets from that viewpoint. Plus with it being Halloween weekend, the whole town was a wreck. A few of their younger friends got out a flip cup table, and they also add in an element of connect four to the game. Like you just play normal flip cup but then each person is also having to drop a chip in the connect four rack for their team. Definitely added another element but just felt dirty even trying to alter a game so pure as flip cup.

Saturday was a blur. I get really awful delayed hangovers where i feel fine when i get up but it can hit it me at any time in the next few hours. This happened to hit me on the blue line which still smelled of alcohol and vomit from the night before.

Pony for the Cats game and then immediately to Wrigleyville where we had a table at a bar on Clark. All you can eat/drink... oof. Actually even as awful as the Saturday game was, and it certainly wasnt a celebratory mood but there was still mostly attempts at optimism about the rest of the series... "Lester gets Bauer, then Jake could win on the road, then who knows in game 7..." I mean not ideal but may as well make the best of it.

Spent yesterday downtown and grabbing a few things on Michigan Ave.... was a good call getting a later flight. I was in no shape to fly until probably after noon. I really dont drink much anymore. I mean I guess thats not completely accurate but i certainly dont have many 2 day benders anymore. Hope i dont have to for a long time.

I dont have a favorite Chicago Pizza... ive pretty much enjoyed all of them I guess. Maybe it was just that I felt like hell yesterday when were stopped in but Gino's didnt really bring the heat. I mean it was ok I guess.

Funnier random thing i watched happen... a bus fool of Asian kids who were clearly on some kind of school trip, as they were all lined up going in some restaurant, their group leader was handed them all an envelope, I assume with their per diem, a homeless guy just cuts right in the middle of the line, and the group leader actually hands him en envelope before immediately recognizing the mistake. I mean all these kids just sat staring at this unfold with blank stares. Group leader snags the envelope back and just looked at the guy, confused...

Everything today sucks versus that of the yesteryear bc that's when 73 attended games.

Good grief, dude. You are exaggerating everything to whatever negative spin you support. A week ago you couldn't score 4 tix to the Miss St game for under 400.00 and now the entire Rupp arena game experience and how it comes across on tv is absolutely deplorable, you can't see any of the players, the #'s aren't readable, it affects your hearing, it's a giant blue blur, etc, etc, etc.

Just admit you don't have an emotional connection to UK athletics anymore.

I'm starting to lean towards BBdK's craps table take...easily the most fun table at the casino. Blackjack might give you the best odds to win, and there is a small element of skill involved, but man it's boring. You can be at a table for hours and still be dead even. At several points, you are just on auto pilot while playing. World Series on in the background, and I bet I didn't even notice 9 or 10 times the dealer dealt. Even the dealers play out the hand as it should most of the time, if the table is any good.

Blackjack = boring and predictable
Craps = fun
Roulette = stupid and slow, unless you hit an early winner

I went to the Vandy game, and will likely make the Georgia game.

UK Basketball is incredible and always will be, except for the Gillispie era, but even that was "entertaining". Mark Coury actually started for a whole season at UK...lol.

I can play Blackjack for about 6 hours and then I start to fade. However, to me the most fun I can have in a casina is one-on-one Blackjack with the dealer. That ****'s awesome, and I usually win/play aggressive because I'm competitive and take it personally.

Roulette is fun but only with a group.

I enjoy Craps, but when it's cold... :weary:. Can get brutal.
