- Don't agree with his politics, but Parrish nailed
this article on Skal.
I have little for fans who don't support our players after they leave as long as they're good kids. Yeah, this season was a disappointment but it was our second worst season under Calipari who's taken us from Tubby/Gillespie and a 13-year F4 drought to four F4s, two championship games and a national title. Stop being F'ing babies and wish Skal the best.
- Happy for him but its bittersweet thinking about not being able to watch Ulis in a UK jersey again. What a ballplayer.
- Caught that UK documentary from a year or two ago on the NBA network last night. Took you from Rupp through today. Great watch. I can't imagine what it must have been like to watch homegrown Goose Givens score 41 in that '78 title game to end that 20 year drought. That must have seemed like forever. It sure did leading up to '96.
- Can't wait to watch Wenyen Gabriel Saturday in the Hoops Summit. Ayton's playing for the international team and apparently the kid's unbelievable. Sounds like he's going to have a hard time getting eligible, though.
- We all have ideas on what WE want for an ideal UK team, but it's pretty clear after watching the guy for 20 years that Calipari ideally wants a long, athletic, nasty defensive team first and foremost. Seems the way he looks at it- give him that kind of roster and he'll figure it out on offense considering the talent. Well, that's the kind of squad we look to have next year.
- What can women's basketball do to get more fans? Lower the basket? Improve the marketing? Get more coverage? The truth is there is nothing they can do. Not a damn thing. I don't see why that's so hard to grasp. It isn't sexism. It isn't because people don't
know these players. It's because no one cares. That's fine if you do, but sometimes life is black and white.
- And I just don't get why ESPN insists on womens/mens CBB crossover comparisons. It's two different sports. Marcus compare cricket and baseball.
- Just got me a pair of these bad boys for summer. I love 90s styles coming back. [thumb2]
