Hmmm, poor defense is a pretty large statement. I don't think we're poor on D. We're awful at defensive rebounding but our guards have turned in some dirty performances. Bigs are just hit or miss game to game.

Well, the top 100 is definitely ****** this year, but we can't really help that.

In the end, we'll have two of the best ten guards in the tourney. That's enough to win it all this year if things bounce the right way.

In 2011 Final 4: 1-seed, two 4-seeds and a 9-seed

In 2014 Final 4: 1-seed, 2-seed, 7-seed, 8-seed

This year will be even more chaotic.

Exactly. If we get to the S16 or E8, and do so impressively...LOL at "house money" -- everyone will be jacked up and thinking we have as good of a shot as anyone, and rightfully so if you've watched CBB this year.

I'm sure SAE's post following any loss thereafter will echo those sentiments. (false)

We didn't have a weak frontcourt in 14 but we were very suspect on defense and made the run of runs. Outside shooting was way more suspect then too.

Think in my bracket pool I'll just write all seeds 1-9 in the Final Four with a footnote that it's "wide open" this year and sign "Smart Fan."

Anyone who doesn't do that is an idiot and not paying attention.

That's not legal if you want to win a prize.

Yeah, I'm curious what kind of pools SAE enters. Not familiar with that format. :fries:

Sounds like a hoot.

Just shows how stupid he is though for not putting "Any team 1-68" in the Final 4 though. Typical.

There are probably 40 teams that you could tell me right now will be in the Final Four and I wouldn't be surprised about any of them. I just don't know how you could be.

Anyone see a man engulfed in fire running down Richmond Rd yesterday?

Video Link

(The video is graphic in that it's a man on fire but you don't see melting skin or anything.)

After the two UConn debacles, the BJW in me feels like are due to "steal" one for once.

Other than the obvious reasons, winning #9 this season would be awesome because we would have a great chance of repeating, unlike in other recent years. If we win it in '11, Terrence Jones probably bolts and he was huge in '12. Win it in '14 and our super team from '15 doesn't come to fruition. Our team is going to be stacked next year regardless of what happens.

If we slip up or if they do, I wouldn't be shocked if they have us set to face Gonzaga in a second-round matchup... and someone from the NCAA would claim that it's a complete coincidence.

I did. On this page, in fact. It was extremely hard, though. Agreed.

Jesus Christ you ********, as of 3/3/16. Better?

- I like it when SAE gets a little farred up.

- This is pretty ridiculous, Using pre-tournament KenPom numbers, here are Calipari's tourney results the last 10 years:

Overall: 36-9
Top 20: 14-9
Top 40: 21-9
Top 60: 28-9
Record Against better opponents/Coin toss: 7-9
Non-Coin flip losses: 0

Here is where is gets really nuts. Here are the Kenpom ranks of the teams he has lost to in order:

2,4,2,1,7,8,9,8,3

That is right, he has zero losses in the Tournament to teams outside of the top 9 over the last 12 years. Yeah I get it laugh at him for Robert Morris, because that is easily the worst loss over the last 12 years of any coaches we have looked at. He is 10-9 against top 10 Kenpom teams in the tournament. Pretty crazy. Self is 5-6.

The day after we get the brackets I'm taking a ballpoint pen (blue of course) and writing in "UK" all the way to the final four. Then I'll do some research and write the rest of it in pencil.

Gimme guard play and a coach who gets it and you take the field. It's a mad mad mad world out there but I like my team.

Pretty sure nobody is lining up to take your place in that group. :100points:

Honestly, the only things keeping me sane in that thread are:

1) Coach Booker and his Bad News Bears little league updates (coming soon!)

2) Living vicariously through the one and only Joe Bonzo. Man, that guy (outside of his black ankle socks and choice playlists) is killing it. Dude is in a good place.

Booked for San Francisco in June. Leaving Saturday, coming back late night Thursday. :scream:

Headed to wine country one day. What else do we need to see?
