Your Punjab, right?

Nope but the first love of my life was half Indian half British. I remember walking into that 3rd grade classroom and seeing her wearing those jordash jeans and black Reebok’s and *shew*. What a gal.
The rapings are *pretty much* over.
?

As soon as I enrolled my sweet kiddos into catholic school I made sure to walk around to all the priests, look them dead in the eyes, and then point my index and middle finger to my eyes, back at them and then motioned with my thumb as if I was cutting a throat. I think it sent a pretty loud and clear message and I feel pretty good about it.

Happy weekend GYERO, let’s start the morning with an hour of Bluey!

In regards to the Boulevardier, I’m super simple and don’t really drink anything with a name. Also makes it tough to want to make those drinks so I prefer to work at bars that cater to your vodka soda and beer crowd.

I’d rather talk about sports with you than explain to you the process of “creating” your drink and how muddling it releases the “essential oils and juices” of the fruit or herb “involved”.

And if you order a “smoked” cocktail well you can just f**k all the way off, but no worries if a bar has a smoker I wouldn’t work there, been there, done that.

-Man, what a world we live in when WildCatChad is consistently dropping randos on Friday night. Seems like yesterday he'd be at Mt. Adams trying his game on some short, stacked, and classy gal that recently graduated from Miami.

-Steve's Redleg facebook posts, although rare these days, make my day. My old man is the exact opposite, eternal optimist when it comes to the Reds. Guess that's from his formative years being during the f*cking BRM.

-Don't care if he'd the most overrated player of all time, or if he can't hit a breaking ball, I love watching EDLC run the bases. Never seen anything like it.

-Almost felt bad for that Polio guy, not really, old boy is cracking. In the words of the great Yeah Yeah Yeahs -> Heads Will Roll. Song has some great remixes, btw.

-Haven't paid much attention to the UK sports news but ready to dive back in on gridiron. So, sounds like no one is even trying to pump the brakes on Leary? He's that dude?

-Believe I(we) made it to the beginning of the meteor shower last night but I could be wrong. Got a little fuzzy.

-Straight up Fall weather next week is gonna have you depths of winter loving, fat ankled, upper midwest f*ckbois creaming in your pants. Gonna roll out to crsipy 55-58 degrees mornings a few times.

-That first time I hear the band practicing from my back patio...

* Another Yeah Yeah Yeah's song also seems pretty apropos: Maps.

* My old man went home from the hospital yesterday. Thanks for all the well wishes here and offline. No need to continue and clutter up GYERO but much appreciated. That's a huge relief for me. This week is probably the first time I've really slept in a month or more since finding out he had to have the surgery.

* Fall weather makes me miss college the most. Nothing better than the promise of a new semester.

* I don't think anyone is even trying to temper expectations for the football team. We should be legit good. Our schedule is a ***** so we could go 8-4 and still be hell on wheels. I think we are going to go 9-3 and kick Tennessee's *** but lose a head scratcher somewhere else.

*. This is how you sell beer.

He did in the overtime of the first Dream Game
At least the mother f'er got us to OT. That game was all on Joe B. We looked like we'd never seen a press before, despite having cat quick senior Dirk Minnefield running point. What a debacle!

Yeah have replaced Mt. Adams with bribing my daughter with chocolate to get her to use the potty.

Let me know how to find you. I live near St Catherine’s. You?
My in-laws (FIL and MIL as well as BIL and his family) all live on Winston Hill. We drive by St Catherine’s when we come into town. I frequently remind them all (you know, intentionally driving the point into the ground) that I’ve seen the real St Catherine of Siena’s finger.

Not to mention Dicky Beal available as well. All that team needed was to get into the half court and feed Turpin because UofL had no answer for him. Our lack of preparedness for the press was stunning.

Still scarred by that loss. My distaste for a passive coaching philosophy was born on this day. It’s why Cal’s grind it out philosophy with a lead makes me want to whip his balls with a car antenna.

Wallen last night at Ohio Stadium was decent. His voice sounded awful though. Only got 4 texts shaming me for going to see him. HOW CAN YOU SUPPORT THAT, YOU FASCIST
What did Wallen do now? I thought everyone moved past the n bomb and went back to liking him again?

-Everyone posting videos of watching NFL preseason games, shewboy not much I couldn’t care less about than the lions 3rd string safety or anything post starters coming out.

But hey if they enjoy it have at it, I honestly had zero idea there were even games going on. #NoCableLife

-But those same people probably think sitting in a tattoo chair for 10 hours the last two days is stupid too and I can’t argue against that but here I am.

I’d like to get back to the VIG discussion with all you leading strategic thinkers. Do you agree the following is true:
  • The overhead costs of running a bookie operation has gone down through the use of technology… meaning it’s easy to scale without adding headcount / cost.
  • The barriers of entry have gone down as evidenced by all the new gambling site companies
  • Vegas already adjusts odds of table games as evidenced by the difference of craps and blackjack rules, as well as minimum bets. For example, in Caesar’s BJ often pays 6-5 instead od 2-1 (wtf) with $25 minimums. Whereas in downtown Vegas you can get a $10 min table with 2-1.
  • Online bookmaking is profitable given that the lines are usually set properly and the average bettor wins in the 50% range. As mentioned elsewhere, if the winning is below 52.5% the bookie will be in the black.
  • Given the low overhead of on-line bookmaking, the cost is really about marketing and advertising (getting more people on your platform).
If the above is true, why wouldn’t a new entry to the market come in with a slightly lower VIG to capture market share? Seems easier and more profitable than trying to enter a crowded market through advertising alone.

I think someone needs to explain supply and demand to Wayne.

Or, alternatively, he should go to the Bellagio on a Saturday night in Vegas the night of a championship MMA fight and stage a protest.

So you guys just believe that a 10% vig on losing wagers is just some magical perfect number pulled out of thin air when sports gambling came about? Is that really your take? No, it was an easy number to manage to in the days before computers, and it's kind of stuck.
  • PTI - f you. I 100% recognize that on a fight night at the Bellagio they are able to increase the table mins and have 6 to 5 Blackjack because people want to be there. But that's also why Emerald Island Casino in Henderson, NV has 2-1 Blackjack and $5 mins. Which is all supply and demand.
  • So why doesn't somebody start the Emerald Island Casino of online sports book that charges 9% VIG on sports wagering? It's the same logic of above? Go to the "good" site and pay more on VIG, or go to the Discount online sportsbook and pay less. in theory there's a **** ton to be made by doing this.
  • And as for supply and demand...
    • You guys are esentially saying the supply curve for gambling is flat - meaning that suppliers will provide an unlimited amount of wagers at 10% VIG and 0 for less than 10%.
    • And you morons are basically implying the demand curve is straight up and down meaning that the the combined public will not be influenced by price changes (VIG) in the market (e.g., reduced VIG will not push people to gamble more).
  • In reality we know this isn't how economics works, and that "everybody's making so much money that nobody cares" line is nonsensical.

They don’t charge 9% bc this isn’t 2 for 1 bj night from your local hooker. They are there to make $$ and if people are going to pay 10%, they are gonna charge 10%.

If anything, you will see a change to 11% before a change to 9%.

Wayne, I may not be a smart man, but do you have an online gambol account? I assume not because if you did you’d realize as money comes in the VIG can change from -105 to -125 per 100.

When it comes to Vegas, it doesn’t matter. Now if you are talking the neighborhood bar bookie, sure if you were entering the market and wanted volume you could do that. But even still, once a book of business is built you’d jump to 10% too because that’s the rate.

Also, just FYI that number isn’t some strategic profit % etc. it’s simply there because no gamboler can outearn that without eventually betting bigger and eventually losing more.

Vegas wasn’t built on the VIG.

When it comes to modern Nashville, he’s really good. When compared to the entire genre, he’s fine. Not mad at all, besides the UT fandom.

Couldn’t rack this anymore. People that “don’t like him” are usually like “well he ain’t Waylon or Willie or Isbell or Sturgill” whoever and I’m always like he’s not trying to be that. He’s just making good pop-ish country.

If you can’t find a way to like him, you’re trying too hard imo.

Wayne, your head would explode if you look into what tracks make on exotic wagering. They also charge for entrance, good parking and the program which people gladly pay even though without the customers they wouldn’t make anything.

I get where those dumbdick UT fans are coming from but it’s cutting off your nose to spite your face. They’d rather throw away that draft pick than him succeed. But give him a good season or two and they’ll all forget about it.

If Heupel became the Packs head coach and was crushing teams I wouldn’t give a touch after the first week or two.
