-Bummer you don’t get to standout there like you’re used to…

I’ve been to Seattle twice and I never saw anything out of the norm but that was before Covid and this society collectively losing their minds over the last 4 years.

-For the life of me I don’t understand why every time a gal is in a bathroom they need to post a pic. It’s basically saying hey this is what I look like after relieving my bladder and/or bowels.

A friend just posted one from the cardinals baseball game so it’s not like it was even a nice bathroom…

Also ladies, taking a pic from above isn’t fooling us anymore, that’s basically saying I have a nice face and breasts but I’m thickkkkkk down low(not in a good way).

Finally, selfies. Why are we still doing this? Just a pic two feet from your face? Every day? We know what you look like, show me something fun or cool you’re doing, thanks.
Oh the worst are the females on Facebook that change their profile pic to a pic that may be 4 or 5 years old and one they have used before.

Then 50 women reply "Beautiful, Gorgeous".
FOH with that need for validation. And that is not what you look like now you Schifosa!!

*I'm not mad at the occasional scratch-off at all- the brief thought of a cash windfall and what you would do with it is worth the buck or two. But we don't have a lottery in Alabama and it's something that I hope the state never adopts. We have way too many people struggling financially that don't need to be tempted into throwing more money away.

*Last week's human trafficking case from a nearby interstate took a quick turn whenever even the slightest information from the police was released, and then yesterday the flood gates open. A tip for those who want to disappear- don't google things from a phone you are going to leave behind for investigators that include:

  • How to steal from a cash register
  • Maximum age for Amber alerts
  • Do you have to pay for amber alerts
  • the movie "Taken"
  • One-way bus ticket costs

*Have to tip my hat to her and her family who are going down with her story though- that she was abducted and blindfolded, fed cheeze-its in the back of an 18-wheeler before breaking free only to realize she was in her own neighborhood and simply walking home. Black twitter has been relentless on her, rightfully so, which has provided some hilarity to an otherwise sad situation.

*On the cusp of making it two weeks of solo parenting, and I gotta say the trains have been running a lot smoother with my ways of operating. Improvise, adapt, overcome.

*A bit disappointed that there wasn't a Spake lounging by the lake sighting by Geese. Lake Norman was a great spot to hit back when I lived in Charlotte- although it seems to be quite a bit more crowded these days.

*I think Golf broadcasts are making an easy product into something more difficult. Here's what people want to see: The most amount of golf shots played by the top/most popular players. Shot tracer and other data is a plus, and obviously cut away to extreme great shots or absolute howlers.

*I have not received any updates on reptile man and the scared american airlines gal but I will NOT be simply letting that situation go without additional information and answers. Waiting on the lady to come out of hiding, assuming she is still with us.

*Also congrats to every single person I know with a kid playing little league- bc ALL of them have won their world series. Every single one. Nobody finished 2nd.

I’ve also noticed that every single team “wins” a championship, not sure how that works…

-The real winners of little league are whoever is behind the "championship" rings they all get. What a racket.

-Moving onto youth football season and the silliness there isn't much better. We (a team from Richmond) are going to drive to Bowling Green to play a team from Berea and pay a few hundo to do so. Oh, and we pretty regularly practice at the same time on the same field. That being said I'm 100% in so I am the problem.

-Speaking of, Btothe5th is progressing nicely. He's 9 and about the size of most of the 8th-grade linemen. The first day in pads yesterday was a beautiful thing. The sound of wheezing and whining that comes from end-of-practice gassers makes a dad's night.

-From 2012-2021 insurance companies made a mint in Kentucky. All of that has been undone. Prepare yourselves for your renewals. Games changed

Just a reminder this team is stacked, has two potential aces about ready to come off the DL, and Andrew Abbott is a star.

The closer for the Twins was throwing 104 last night. He hit Julio Rodriguez square in the elbow and it sounded like his bone exploded. Julio was down for a minute or so, and the replay thankfully showed it hit his elbow pad - and still hurt him pretty badly.

I don’t know if there’s a speed limit that the human body may someday hit where it just isn’t feasible to throw any faster, but as all these pitchers start getting to the 100 mph levels is safety going to become an issue?

Remember PTI(pti), it's much better to be sarcastic and miserable about your "favorite team" than to have even a modicum of joy and excitement about their future. Pumping brakes, things of that nature...

It's called being realistic versus false hope, believing in mirages, things of that nature....

It's fine to be excited and so forth, but when you continually lather the sentiment with an inordinate amount of hyperbole, then that isn't healthy, and frankly, it shows just how ignorant one is about the subject at hand.

Kinda like the preseason #1 in CBB for 2022-2023. Lots of hyperbole and piss poor results. Sprinkles

There's a reason you have to pump yourself up everytime you post about an upcoming birthday/holiday/event. You're so full of vinegar it's seeping out of your ears.

I mean this genuinely, seek help.

Choosing the exact polar opposite is no more healthy, though.

It was alarming to find out you are 60 and behaving this way. Seriously if I’m 60, although I don’t stalk 4 different social media outlets at 43, and I was so anti Reds excitement I’d hope the ones that say they love me would get me checked for depression.

60 = beach, day buzz, mid day nap, and late night walk.

IMHO

You've posted on this very site the team would be 15 games under .500 this season, and of course they've wildly exceeded expectations. It's been a tremendous joy to watch, and yet your sorry *** has literally talked **** about Joey Votto, Jonathan India, Matt McClain, Elly De La Cruz, the entire bullpen, Nick Lodolo, Hunter Greene, the play-by-play guy who you continually harass on Twitter, David Bell, Spencer Steer, Christian Encarnacion-Strand, Jake Fraley, Tyler Stephenson, Will Benson, the popcorn guy in Section 332, the parking lot attendant with Down's Syndrome, Kalvoski Daniels, Rolando Roomes, the organ player from Take Me Out To The Ballgame, Vern's mom, Jeff Branson, John Sadak, Oh Wait I Already Mentioned You Cyber Stalk Him On Twitter, the entire team sucks *** and yet the youngest team in baseball is currently 6 games over .500....

.....you're a miserable prick, while the rest of us are enjoying the hell out of this. You're awful. Every single person on this board hates you.

But I'll grab ya a beer next time I see ya lol haha! 🤮

I mean, if you don't get a lil pep in your step watching Will Benson cheesin' every time he plays, but especially after someone homers, I just don't know about you.

And I will hear no Joey Votto slander. Not many dudes that get to have as much fun as he is in the twilight of his career with the talent around him...and he still bangs, btw.

No but I can’t imagine the misery in which cheering for a team that is preseason #1 and misses the tournament would bring either.

Overachieving young future is bright team = pump the brakes.

Underachieving veteran team going nowhere after making a championship game = ????

Walked out on the back porch, and you could cut this humidity with a knife. Lord.

So, I did what I am wont to do, I poured a tall glass of neat, room temperature bourbon. Just as I would on any of the other 365 days of the year.

Feeling good. Perfect summer weather weekend on the doorstep. I might buy a sports car. Or crack a drifter in the knees with a blackjack. We’ll see.

I grieve on behalf of my fellow Kentuckians, particularly my dog who missed out on a big Farm Bureau bonus this year, but welcome to the freaking club. In my area if you're under about $6-8k/year for homeowners, you're doing very well.

(it's about another $1-2k/year for flood coverage)

We also have a separate "wind" deductible. It's 2% the value of your house if you pay thru the nose, or 5% of the value if you just normally pay a bunch. So a $500k house you are immediately out either $10k or $25k when there's hurricane damage. So they basically quit paying for a new roof. I got super lucky and got a policy thru USAA at approximately the figures listed above, and when I tried to shop that with two of my own clients who are P&C guys, they laughed and said they couldn't get anywhere close.

(PTI(pti)’s post about insurance costs in La. - I’m too high to quote correctly)

For reasons such as this, and others, I believe places like Lexington, Louisville, NKY/Cincinnati, etc are going to be some of the fastest growing areas in the nation in a few decades.

Good cost of living (consumer goods but also utilities, insurance, “structural” things of that nature), balanced climate that is not prone to soon change, ample (unlimited) high quality water, worldwide direct freight and passenger air service, all manner of logistics hubs (rail, road, water, air - we nail them all). This is a pretty great place to live, really, if you look at it from that standpoint. AKA, “The Golden Triangle.”

Doesn’t mean I don’t constantly pine for other locales/lifestyles, I do, but it is helpful to remind myself that this place is sensible.

The major question is how will native Kentuckians react to a bunch of outsiders moving in and driving up the prices. Murder is my guess.

Our company writes little in Louisiana or Mississippi. You can exclude flood and wind but you can’t insure against heavy fraud. When the governor of Louisiana had to go the air, in the 90’s to try and discourage people from filing fraudulent claims, like back and neck injuries, you know it’s bad.

It’s an interactive map with risk assessed by county.

Northern KY counties have a good score. Florida is screwed. Jefferson County has a bad risk level too

Lol... my first real job was for a retailer. One of their stores in Mississippi partially collapsed during a storm (no real injuries or any fatalities). Through the cameras they knew there were 30 people in the store when this happened. 90 people filed lawsuits.
