Your first place Cincinnati Reds.
The Cubs are 4-2 vs those squads.
- The Rays and Orioles lead the AL East and have exciting teams
This Cincinnati team is just special, man.
I don’t want to get ahead of myself, though. I’d like to check in with Twitter and see what sort of hatred and vitriol my buddy UKO is spewing at the Reds press secretary, bullpen catcher, AA affiliate pitching coach, and Spanish speaking radio color analyst before I confirm if it’s real, but I certainly feel like there’s something special in the air in Cincinnati.
Yeah Ive been scuba diving before (not legally because I wasn’t certified just out with buddies) and they all wanted me to get certified so we could dive the Vanderburg which is a sunken military vessel right off KW.I’m good with never going more than 3 or 4 feet below the surface of any body of water for the rest of my life.
Sadly, no you don't. You're one of the casual fans that Anth was referring to. The Cubs had to totally restructure the way they operated, from the farm system on up. When Epstein first arrived, the strategy was draft bats and acquire pitching in free agency and through trades. And it worked initially. It brought Chicago it's first World Series in over a century. Then the decline began.Poor Vern. Sadly I do know what I’m talking about. This piece milled roster is a sad effort for a large market team.
Not sure what is so exciting for you when we are clearly not a playoff team but have a rotation of 32-35 year olds, and the whole lineup will be gone from our team within 2 years, except Morel.
But this 8-2 run we have been on is fun, then you check and see we are still 4 games under .500 and that pace is not sustainable for this group.
Like I said we will be sellers in about 3 weeks. Our prospects have some promise so we will absolutely be looking to flip a few 30+ year olds for more.
On another bright note for the reds, they are expected to get Rhett Lowder with their #7 pick. Lowder is the ace for Wake Forest and rated the 2nd best pitcher behind Skenes of LSU.
