- My soon to be FIL drives a school bus and ushers at Reds games in his "retirement." He worked 40 something years at a company and then started this shortly after because he didn't want to just sit at the house and he's nearing ten years with the school district. So, he'll draw two pretty hefty retirements when he retires for real. He loves it and the kids treat him like a bonus grandpa. MIL loves that he's out of her hair for most of the day. Great deal for everybody, really.

- My parents miraculously avoided covid for 2.5 years and then my dad had heart attack symptoms and they ended up in the ER for a day. He was admitted for a couple days, had a cardiac cath, and he's all good; but poor mom picked up 'rona. She felt crappy but didn't do too bad when was actively sick, but she's had the weirdest post-viral stuff since. She's on week two of wild hives all over her face. Awful. Dad the asthmatic, somehow, never caught it. Bodies are weird.

- Competed for the 10th time a couple weeks ago. Frankly wasn't real happy with how the day went, but I won the meet and PR'd my total anyways. After a few weeks of being salty I'm settled down to "it be like that sometimes." Still #18 in my weight class all time and #6 for the year in my federation, which is pretty cool. Also pretty stoked to bench 210 after being stuck at 200 for a long time. Onward.

- Started Sandman on Netflix and I still can't decide if I like it or not. I love Neil Gaiman, but I think some of his stories work better for me in print than on screen.

- I keep hearing other folks complaining that they are slow as hell at work. I don't think I've had a slow August work-wise since I started practicing. Every year, it's non-stop fire drill from August 1 to October.

- 73 days til my wedding, which is very exciting and I'm thrilled to finally make it legal. However, you could not pay me enough to ever plan a wedding ever, ever, EVER again. Fiancé finally admitted maybe I was right about eloping. If I can keep my mother reined in for another 73 days, I'll be shocked. Shew. But in 75 days I won't give a hoot since I'll be on the beach in the Dominican, so....LFG

Divorce doesn’t suck in *some* situations. If she is a nagging, PIA that’s never satisfied I suggest you make the leap. Or if you are UKO’s wife I also suggest you make the leap.

I tangled with a f’n attorney and came out fine. With that said, our kids were sixteen. Whole different ballgame if you have young ones.

- There is very little inflation reduction in the act just passed and most are saying if Biden knocks off $10k on loans inflation will increase. The reals know what that Bill was and it was nothing what the name implies.
Looking forward to more of your analysis.

One of the adults only all inclusives in Punta Cana. Friend of ours does travel booking and hooked us up with a package for a private pool and everything. I've only been out of the country once and it was to Quebec...and we drove there...and my fiance hasn't ever left the country, so needless to say we are PSYCHED.

When your day job gets hectic, and you just blow it off to organize pickups for barrel picks as I have 3 getting picked up today.

Totally zoned out and forgot about the “mistake” a builder made. So when he called back to remind me I never got back to him to let him know how fast I could fix the problem, and all I had was “um, what are you talking about”.

That went well. Had to mute the phone to hide my laughter from his tirade.

- Seriously, all kidding aside, I wouldn’t leave my wife. I can’t say she is my best friend, but she is my compass.

If she ever points me to the beach for us to live I swear on everything that would earn best friend status!

  • How are appliance repair guys still in business? They come to your house for an initial $150 shakedown to show up, then after they inspect- invent some wild parts and labor to ensure that there’s no way you don’t just go out and buy new ****. Eff you.
  • after 2 weeks off, I can’t get my mojo back at work. I just don’t give a f*ck.
  • Popped my KY 95/5 rye. It is a wild ride. I’ll let it open up a bit before I render its rightful place on the shelf. Weekend work.
  • just framed my Keeneland B/W print series. Got Chinese frames & mats via Amazon. Exponentially cheaper than our framing guy down the block. Looks terrific too. Gonna send the saddle blanket to my Korean dude tho.
  • My UK frosh was in some Fraternity attic for a rave on Saturday. Fire trap. He turned off Life 360 so I can’t stalk him. Prolly a good thing for my heart.
  • Down 20 lbs.

-Put me down as utterly shocked Anth has any pedestrian Kroger points to redeem at all.
I'm a Kroger Gas loyalist. No problem with the grocery other than the one by our house being a total nightmare to get in/out of. WS is the grocery snob. I'm not a fan of Whole Foods. I tend to hit Fresh Market, because of the aforementioned parking lot, but I used to go to Kroger for lunch pretty often.

WS called the appliance guy when our washing machine, like 2 years old, went out. Complete waste of time because the part was going to be unavailable or more than a new washer. Sure enough, now we have a brand new one sitting in our laundry room.

-i was skeptical, but Mrs Rudd got extended warranty on laundry machine from lowes...it's paid off in spades. We use rick greenes for other stuff...have for years, they're fine.

^obviously one has to do a cost/benefit allowance...but I lean towards not throwing stuff away if possible.

-no desire to be single. Had plenty of fun as a youth. It'd be funish for a bit...but at heart im a pretty self-contained person. Can't imagine having to "learn" someone new.

-I avoid disco Kroger at all costs...Chinoe does the trick.

You ever going to expand to Texas @krazykats ? DFW is the largest bourbon market in the country/world so I've heard.

Yes, but once in there that’s like the pinnacle of liquor sales.

The state has like 7 markets that equal KY in each market so a small outfit like me has to be ready for that, and quite honestly I’m not.

Im inching closer and closer to something like that but my small lot of 350 barrels would be gone in year 1 down there.

Well, just keep in mind you have to go through a distributor. Not sure what the rules in KY are.

I would recommend Southern Glazers. They took over Tito's distribution when it was just a smaller regional product and we know about them now.

We have been to Sanctuary Cap Cana in Dominican several times. Hitting up Secrets Cap Cana in November. Cap Cana is about 10 min away from Punta cana and the airport. We really like Dominican Republic.

I have a website, but I’m not a technology intelligent individual.

I do not do social media really. But my niece wants me to hire her to handle it, and the problem is she is 16.

Selling 350 barrels is bad when it’s all you have and aren’t in a position to restock because you can’t produce that much that quick, and unlike others don’t have a production line producing year after year yet.

Edit: I started this thing 3-1/2 years ago with my life savings of 60K and bought 10 barrels at the time.

I don’t have debts or investors behind me at all, it’s 100% out of my pocket to this point.

- I forget who all stayed with me besides CoolCat. Just know that weekend got away from us all. Stayed up til 3 am playing that horse gambling game at ABH’s house, legit in Willy’s old bar by 7:50 am taking shots. Was approximately 115 degrees at Paul Brown. Remember being out in Mt. Adams postgame and waking up next to some Asian girl Sunday morning.

Great times. That was like a week before my wedding.

And that wasn't an Asian girl, it was Anth.

YouTube is the greatest invention for those who want to repair broken ish on their own. Recently repaired our fridge with a simple $150 new part fix that pre YouTube I would have spent a fortune either having someone come out and fix, drive myself insane trying to figure out or just buying a new appliance.

I just park up top. Always plenty of spots and probably easier to get in and out of when you don't have to dodge bad drivers walking through the parking lot. Need to go there tomorrow and get something for the smoker on Saturday.

Weird UF is ahead of us. Surprisingly every one of my UF friends down here all missed the game vs UK last year. Uncanny, really.
