Gotta get there at 5:45 Not f***ing with you, it's actually kind of a cool job. You just show up, make sure everything works on the GD bus, pick up the elementary kids, drop 'em off, then pick up the middle and HS kids, drop them off. You're back around 9:00, park it, and leave. Come back around 2:00 and do it again. It's damn near the perfect retirement job. Gets me up and moving, Summers and holidays off etc.

I don't HAVE to work (financially, although extra scratch never hurts), but retiring and just vegging at home is the fastest way to a grave.

(Plus, if I've got nothing else to do, I can drive the ******* band, football team etc. around. Extra $$$)

Obviously an important job
I had never really thought about it that way. Being a bus driver is an incredibly important job that no one ever thinks about or gives people credit for. I mean, I can't imagine the responsibility of driving 40ish rugrats in a cheeswagon that requires a CDL to operate.

Props to The Clown for taking on that responsibility for beer money, essentially. I've got a retired buddy who is a crossing guard, along with an equally retired neighbor. They seem to love it. It gives them a reason to get out of the house, hang out with living people, and be a good example for kids.

I think it is increasingly important for good men to be in positions to influence kids, especially in school situations. Good to see -- provided that The Clown isn't using this as an opportunity to set up a distribution network like Walter White. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

* House of the Dragon started solid. I'm hopeful that HBO pulls this off. Feels like they lost their fastball during COVID because they couldn't make the sprawling high quality dramas where they are unquestionably the best -- The Sopranos, The Wire, True Detective, Game of Thrones, Barry, etc.

Now if GRRM will get off his fat *** and finish Winds of Winter, that's be great.

* Been dabbling with doing hypnosis lately. Kind of interesting. At worst, it is a really relaxing hour every couple of weeks where I'm focusing on self-improvement. I thought I would hate it or it wouldn't work on me but so far so good. I've been sleeping like a baby and had significantly reduced anxiety. Whether that is psychosomatic or a real effect, I really don't care.

* My wife left Monday to visit her brother in Australia for a couple of weeks. He's been there on a contract for Northop Grumman since 2019ish and she hasn't been able to go because of Australia's idiotic COVID policies where you had to quarantine alone in a hotel room every time you entered the country. He comes back early next year and they finally dropped the COVID idiocy so we put together the money on the fly and off she went.

Gonna be a weird couple of weeks. This will easily be the longest we've been apart since we got together in 2010. It will be nice to have the house to myself for a while but it is also a nice reminder that getting divorced would probably suck and she's my best friend.

One of my neighbors who is retired is driving for FCPS....2-3 hrs in the morning, 2-3 hours in the afternoon, depending on traffic and such.....$26/hr. Always gets paid for 30 hrs/wk.

- I get a call every morning that bus 1940, 1973, 2028 and……………are all missing drivers so if it’s your kids bus then figure something else out, basically. So yes, being a bus driver is extremely important

We drop the kids off in the AM and let them ride home.

- Noted that divorce would suck, but count me in the line that is interested. I had a blast as a single fella when I was basically broke, and now that I have money I just can’t imagine what freedom would feel like.

- Little guy has a scrimmage Saturday in Versailles. Damn it that’s a haul for four 8 minute quarters of foozball.

Guess I’ll hit Sonny’s BBQ on the way out.

- Burned several DVDs of the first scrimmage for the coaches. It was nice going back to watch it again and point things out with my son, and he really takes to the film time as a learning tool.

- Won a W12 at poker last night.

My father brought up the idea of driving a school bus a few years back. He was extremely bored in retirement- he's an early morning hours type, the money was good for the amount of work, etc... But I was not going to let him drive a bus for JCPS. He isnt the most patient, is strict on manners and common courtesy- a general old-school Wonder Years type dad. I could see him flying off the handle at some 5th grader and it ending up on the news. I give myself a lot of credit for preventing a tragedy before it happened.

Daughter has begun to bring home these weekly colds or whatever from daycare and has generously given it to me. I have no idea what these little children pass around- but good lord it hasnt stopped since she started at school. Just gross.

I know a *lot* of other admins around the country that are taking grad school classes at their university- most of which are free as an employee benefit. Last spring it became a trendy idea to take out a federal loan for $10k (which they didnt need) and just put it in a high-yield saving account on the chance that it would either be forgiven and they could just keep a free $10k- or at worst- they would just make a one lump sum payment to pay back that loan and no harm done... sounds like they all beat the system with that little gimmick.

Wait, you get to keep some money after divorce?
I don’t keep track of how divorces work, but last I heard the going rate is half.

Half of what we have now is more than I had the first 38 years of my life so I can’t imagine what I’d do with myself every other week!

- Had a parents meeting last night at the little one’s new school. My wife is so excited to make new parent friends. Traditionally, I’m a pretty big people person, like nearly everyone I get to know and always open to another friend, but I barely get to see the friends I already have. I don’t want to replace Dave or Chris or Adrian or Jerry with F’ing Drew. I don’t know what this Drew guy is all about.

- If we’re playing Monopoly, go ahead and **** out over Boardwalk and Park Place. I’m going after the greens and yellow, and trust me, shortly thereafter you’ll be serving my kids and me fries as we stop for a quick bite on the way to a weekend ski trip.

- The more I think about it, “Tattoos” is the best Childers song.

- I am binging the hell out of “Industry” on HBO. That’s a @B.B.d.K. show if I’ve ever seen one. Lots of tittays too if you’re into that sort of thing. Penis too!

- Shane Beamer can F right off.

- Remember when the BBN Caravan headed to Paul Brown Stadium to play Miami (OH) and we were all popping off jagerbombs at 8 a.m. teetering on afternoon brownout in 100 degree heat and just out there titty-F’ing and F-banging like life was just one big LMFAO song?

Industry is good. HBO’s Billions if you will. A lot of tittay with a smaller amount of penis as Chad says. They must have got a lot of negative feedback from season 1 because the amount of homosex has been significantly reduced in season 2 so far thankfully.

- Tokyo Vice is an A+ show on HBO imo.

- There is very little inflation reduction in the act just passed and most are saying if Biden knocks off $10k on loans inflation will increase. The reals know what that Bill was and it was nothing what the name implies.

Should've let him drive for Miller. Great family.

-Man, just leave those college kids alone. They have plenty to worry about without some biased woke film maker harassing 'em. It's all over IG.

-Uncanny timing on Maverick. Now that we've shown a pure 80's movie can crush(if done right) lets get some bro comedy back. Fire up the Vaughn, Wilson, Ferrell gang and let's do it.

-Speaking of... after years of saying it, finally scheduled an appointment to have my tat recolored and lightly expanded on. First appointment... May 29th. Lol. I'll chicken out by then. 100%.

-Stayed up way too late watching the movie. Then couldn't sleep. 5a alarm and 6a leg day weren't enjoyable. Blah.

-That Miami(OH) weekend was a sneaky all out debauchery weekend. I believe SAE slept on our couch that night. How's Lucy Blues doing?

-Krazy, I'll take that w12 off your hands. TIA.

-.70 off per gallon at Kroger Gas yesterday. F*ck Biden, I'm solving inflation single handedly.

Loved S1 of Industry. So far behind on everything...assuming S2 is out?

Finished Better Call Saul last night. Man, what a show.

-Put me down as utterly shocked Anth has any pedestrian Kroger points to redeem at all.

Based solely on those silly dance/cheer social media routines, those southern sororities need to settle the F down.

- Yeah Season 2 is out.

- I forget who all stayed with me besides CoolCat. Just know that weekend got away from us all. Stayed up til 3 am playing that horse gambling game at ABH’s house, legit in Willy’s old bar by 7:50 am taking shots. Was approximately 115 degrees at Paul Brown. Remember being out in Mt. Adams postgame and waking up next to some Asian girl Sunday morning.

^ Thought Yas and the French blonde gal were about to go scissor* action in the latest episode. Disappointed.

GD I want to be part of the Big Blue caravan heading up 64 East with some K flags flapping and ZZ Top blasting right now, folks.

Wink and a gun to the stressed and angry lass.

...all your hugs and kisses, too!
As soon as I saw the words ZZ Top, I immediately heard the opening drum sequence of Gimme All Your Lovin'.

Well played, sir.
