True Freshman/Lexington's own/Ryan Lemond's God Son..... Dane Key is a starter right now, according to Will Levis. I think the talk is legit because he physically looks ready to play SEC big boy football and apparently has HANDS. We shall see. That kid has the potential to be King of the Bluegrass.

Agree with the nomination of capital punishment for the Dandy Vandy Vote -

We DID lack a pass rush last year - you may be right about attributing it to scheme...but it sure seemed like our D-Line was just weaker and slower

Really want to see a young RB separate themself fm the pack and put up some #s

Not sure if our younger RBs are more power backs like C Rod - or Speed Merchants like others we've had in the past ....

And - an enforcer type please ...preferably someone w/level 3 "Crazy in his Eyes"

Chance Poor -- what a damn name for a kicker, man

Like having a QB named Johnny Pick-Six

Shorts:

*I'm a little uncomfortable with how high my expectations are for this football team.

*Hanging out in the "prove it" lounge with Richie for basketball, just need to see some stuff before buying a ticket for a bus or ark.

*My favorite sports, golf and college football/basketball seem to be arriving at major inflection points. Little nervous for both, tbh.

*Twins turn 9 today. Chad mentioned aging, it was a rough almost decade on ya boy (especially first 3 years). Worth it, my kids are awesome.

*Back had gotten so bad this past year, it had really affected my exercise and sleep. Finally gave in and went to PT...dry needling has absolutely helped. Should have done it years ago.

*About two days for me on the beach and I'm good. Jealous of PTI's vacation schedule...always moving/doing something (at least during the day) is more my style.

*Boys of Summer - Don Henley, Hurricane - Band of Heathens, Good One Comin' On - Backberry Smoke, Good Times - Charlie Robinson, San Francisco Bay Blues - Eric Clapton

- Oxendine looked like a future All-SEC or better guy to me last year. Was my favorite player on the team. Hope his recovery is full.

- I assume BBdK will be in NYC Dec 17 for UK-UCLA?

- For any of you snorers/bad sleepers, I’d highly recommend a c-pap/b-pap. Game changer. Not the least of which being a happier wife.

- RE: UK basketball. I understand the “show me” attitude. That said, sure is nice having a veteran team to lean on. If we wanted, we could start an all upperclassmen lineup. In fact, besides Wallace, I’d argue we should.

- Peach Jam Thoughts:

* Dillingham is going to be in the Fox/Monk/Wall tier as far as pure electricity with the ball.

* Wagner’s struggled. May not have his legs after a long summer. His shot has been awful. Likely will fall out of the Top 5. Still think he’s a stud but it’s certainly in his best interest to play at UK with other good players as opposed to the pressure of being the savior at Louisville. He ain’t that guy.

* We’re going to love Edwards who may be #1 when it’s all said and done. Smoooooth lefty. Good stroke. Athletic. Has that Philly edge too.

* This Cooper Flagg out of Maine may be the best American whiteboy to come around in a long time. Class of 2025 but most feel he’s the best player in high school basketball. 6’9” honk who can do it all, stuffs the statsheets. Pure winner … and already a Duke lock. 🤦🏻‍♂️

I like where this is going -

You know what i DONT like though??

The. new underwear my lovely bride decided to procure for me --

HELL - i thought they were compression shorts for exercising ....Im halfway to the mailbox in these sleek black unmentionables and thinking "I could jog the block in these babys"...

And they have this -- pronounced -- "cockpit" ...shall we say ...

AND she literally just told me --
IN FRONT OF MY daughter--->>>> that SHE doesn't LIKE me "ADVERTISING MY MANHOOD " --->>>> when Im out and about

Men -- Your wonderful, treasured better halves -- WILL have their versions of this ......expect the occasional misdirection, surprise points of emphasis and outright Blindsided "improvement initiatives" from time to time ....

Good One Comin' On - Backberry Smoke
Really enjoyed their show at the Palace in April. Wife bought me tickets to see them again next Sunday night in Nashville, IN for my birthday.

Levis putting it out there that Dane Key is a starter at WR already, but it's up to him to stay there. I can't wait to this this kid the next 3-4 years. Hope he has at least a Garrett Johnson-esque career, but I think his ceiling is much higher.

Bryant doing their seasonal inspection on one of the hotter days of the year. God bless whoever goes up in my HAF attic today. Just don't fall through the ceiling this time.

I get Bob & Tom commercials on my Spotify podcasts now. Is anyone still listening to that???

Defending Natty Champs coming to Rupp after we dusted them in their own gym last year? Cats by 30.

Friday 5
More Than a Feeling - Boston
Bus Route - Tyler Childers
Xtralovable - Prince
Shoot to Thrill - Halestorm cover of AC/DC
I Don't Wanna Stop - Ozzy Osbourne

Ralphdalton, the only guy I follow on rafters, was talking about that stud Jackson reclassifying instead of Wagner and not sure I don’t prefer that. Seems Wagner is a 6’3” Harrison which is fine but not the badass everyone was making him out to be.

I don’t see why you can’t roll with both. A true modern offense with Edwards at the 4 and 3 guards would be tough to stop.

Nice to have that as your fall back.

(*)(*) Friday 5

Man Who Sold the World - David Bowie
Black Dog - Led Zeppelin
Message in a Bottle - the Police
Ballad of Dorothy Parker - Prince
Keep Their Heads Ringin' - Dr. Dre

(*)(*) Road games at Florida, Tennessee, Mizzou & Ole Miss will determine the season, IMO. But I'm worried about SC or MSU beating us at home, too.

If we want to truly play with the big boys and challenge UGA for the East we have to sweep those games. I'm not sure if we have that in us. Yet.

(*)(*) I'm predicting 10-3 with another big bowl win.

(*)(*) Edwards, Wagner and Dilly? With a returning Fredrick and Reeves in the backcourt? Yes, please.

(*)(*) Heading to Anna Maria Island in about 10 days. I need it.

(*)(*) Digging my Blackstone. Birria tacos have been my fav thing so far.

(*)(*) Just a regular old bottle of Buffalo Trace calling my name tonight.

(*)(*) Have a good weekend GYEROADIES. Get some lovin'.

-When smoking I prefer cherry smoke over blackberry. JC, I've never had blackberry smoke. I don't think it's a real thing. Dr. Pepper smoke is apparently underrated although during the Masters Class Aaron Franklin Ad I don't recall him mentioning it.

-I think we're going to be a tough *** team by late October. Just hope we can get the early dubs needed to stay in the hunt. We'll know by mid October.

-I know it irks BBdk but I just don't get this trend on FB and IG where, mostly hens, have 10+ "stories" in a day. Great, Becky, you had a salad for lunch again. That's fantastic. We've all seen the country club pool, I'm not sure that qualifies as living your best life. F#ck sake, no one has that much interesting **** happen to them in one day, much less everyday. Less is way more on the socials.

-Spent about 45 minutes outside having a catch on Tuesday and I'm pretty certain we were averaging 1 mosquito bite per minute. Vicious little bastards. They love that humidity.

-TdF was absolutely fantastic. So many times you have 1 dominant rider and it's basically over the first week. This was a slugfest the whole damn way. Hopefully these 2 young dudes keep at it, wil be fun to watch.

Two things that have recently happened I'm not super proud of:

1. I'm barely consuming beer these days. If I do, it's just a couple.

2. The amount of Coldplay and Imagine Dragons on "our" playlist is a bit alarming. (This one can at least be attributed to a 7 year old being a prick about our music selection)

-If you're getting a cleaning on a 100 degree day in an attic, it'll be subpar. That's just the truth. We'll clean it better in October. 🤷‍♀️I think it's pretty new, you'll be fine.

-Been a blistering summer but looks like we get a nice reprieve next week for normal temps.

-I like the basketball momentum, feels like normal, but I'm 100% in prove it mode. A few shiny new additions won't wipe off the recent **** stains. Win in March, that's it. Anyway, I really like the team from last year... hopefully they learned their lesson.

-Don't care if Wagner is the next Skal, I want him to piss off UL. Wish that place would finally fall into the endless radioactive railroad **** pit that runs underneath central Louisville.

-Terminal List is a good watch, if you're into that stuff.

Listened to sparks the other day after seeing it on wedding crashers. Solid. Junior year at UK a couple roommates wanted to go see some band in Cincinnati just getting popular that I wasn’t familiar with. I remember the lead singer starting out thanking everyone and taking about how he can’t believe people are actually coming to see them and how thankful they were etc. It was right when yellow came out and I always remember how genuinely nice Chris Martin seemed.

So - ive also been getting eaten up with mosquitoes recently

For what its worth FL inherited an enormous quantity of genetically altered mosquitoes -- about a year ago i think

the male mosquitoes which cant bite you - have been "altered" -- the idea is that they will become fatal vectors to the females when they have sexual intercourse - the female mosquito population dies off (although we know - they dont ALL die) - and ideally - the prevalence and impact of tropical diseases are mitigated

Ill spare you the gory details but you should look it up if you want some interesting / atypical public health reading this summer

Point is - we MAY have mutant mosquitoes moving north -- BUT I DOUBT IT

California and Texas are two other "participating" states with the genetically altered mosquito sweepstakes

1) Planet Caravan - Black Sabbath
2) Outfit - Drive By Truckers
3) When the Man Comes Around - Johnny Cash
4) Flaming Telepaths - Blue Oyster Cult
5) Cough Syrup - Young the Giant

here's the thing -- I don't think they actually HELP the letter opening process...

Nothing better than beer on ice after mowing the lawn.
I hope you mean it came out of a cooler if ice, and not that you are filling a glass full of ice with beer.

television - Marquee Moon
The Strokes - Someday
ABBA - Gimme Gimme Gimme
St Paul & The Broken Bones - Grass is Greener

late night on porch - **** beer and expensive bourbon

Call of Duty on PS5. Hit me up.

I don’t know him personally, but it seems like @rudd1 probably has and uses a letter opener and likely seals his correspondences with wax and a stamp.
