Yeah I’ve noticed a lot lately the journos are trying their best to get us to like women’s basketball- hell CatPaw and KSR included- but I just don’t think it’s going to happen.

This group of people, ironically, are the first people to tell you mens college basketball is dying- yet they’re selling the female version to a people who obviously doesn’t want it.

Oh well, I have to keep scrolling and occasionally get fooled on a ticker score but nothing really off my back. Bizarre bunch, though - modern sports media.

ESPN combines their scores with the men’s scores on their home page. It’s like they’re trying to trick me into clicking on the link in hopes I get more interested in it.

Ticker scores- ESPN app sometimes shows WCBB scores before MCBB scores, usually their scores go in order of the sports popularity, NFL then NBA, then CBB, except sometimes women's goes first.

ESPN does a good job of forcing/promoting a lot of things. Did you know Mina Kimes is an NFL analyst?

Kimes was offered a position by ESPN editors in 2014 after she wrote an essay on Tumblr about a "bond between herself and her dad and the Seattle Seahawks.

Way out in front on this.

Not sure you'll get a good game atmosphere on Tuesday night with either of those recs. But, if downtown, you might not have many options.

Macs Pub in Covington. Not sure how populated it will be but good bar food.

Dickmanns. Will be populated for UK game. 10 minute drive from downtown.

To be fair to women’s basketball, there was a movement to shove soccer down our throats until we capitulated and started watching it. Now we have a beautiful stadium a pitching wedge off the expressway in Louisville to show for it.

That was the most fun I've had with in-person sports ever. Lived in Indy at the time. Got decent seats for that game. The Michigan game, me and my buddy just headed over to Georgia Street at the last minute with cash in hand. Grabbed 4th row seats and drank martinis at the Hyatt until tip. I was on one.

*What’s up cocksuckers? Not much new to report, just needed a little break from Catpaw. I don’t think I’d taken one in 20 years. If we lose on Tuesday I won’t post until the season is over (you’re welcome).

*puppies to Terie

*congrats to Clark

*Bought a Tonal a month or so ago. I don’t believe I’ll ever go back inside a regular gym. That thing is perfect for what I need. Before purchase I had managed to gain back about 25 of the 45 pounds I had lost, so, expensive but worth it to head off being a fat f*ck again. Hopefully forever this time.

*Been playing quite a bit of PGA 2K21 on PlayStation lately. I have a few buddies that got it and we either play online or in the society I created. Great way to stay connected to golf during the winter. Also, it’s the best pure golf game ever made.

*Been hitting up the simulator a couple times a week as well. I have zero place to put one of those in my house, but GD I wish I did.

*F*ck winter. Enough. Give us a GD break and throw in a day in the 50s or 60s during a weekend.

*Punxsutawney Phil died the day before he was supposed to look for his shadow. Nuclear winter? Marcus.

*I seriously despise politics and every GD post on the matter. Life is infinitely better when you eliminate all cable news channels. I guess some people get off on it, but I can’t imagine a bigger waste of time for 99.9% of the people who get so enraged by everything.

*Heads up, neither party gives a single solitary f*ck about you, your family, or anyone that doesn’t directly involve them getting re-elected or their pockets lined.

*I don’t give a **** about Joe Rogan. Listen or don’t.

*Sharpe will never play here. They’ll say all the right things, but when it’s nut cuttin time, he and his people are not turning down a top 5 draft slot. Objectively, it would be dumb as hell to do so. With that said, I don’t appreciate the program being used as a holding tank, so clean that **** up please.

*Did CatsfanBG die? The reals hope so.

Work trip to Cincinnati tomorrow. Any decent spots to watch the game without smelling cinnameat sauce?

If you're sticking around downtown I'd say Holy Grail is your best bet to catch the game and a buzz but it always has that fratty "I remember my first beer" vibe.

If you're in the mood to catch the trolley and ride up to OTR, I'd rec Copper and Flame. It has a cool upstairs bar that is more low key. And they even have hand crafted self-pour cocktails there too. I poured out an Old Fashioned thinking it would probably be meh but it was pretty damn delicious. I'm an idiot though so I ended up drinking out a wine glass for some reason. If you're feeling pizza I dig Taglio up on 12th Street and the hot honey pie. Solid game viewing set up as well.

Thinking long and hard about a Tonal but will probably wait until we build before biting that bullet. I've heard great things about it and think it's something that I will use. I enjoy working out, but hate being around people when doing so. It sounds like it'll pay for itself. I'm not into lifting heavy whenever I do so the 200 lb top weight should be enough for me. To my understanding, 200 on a tonal is a lot heavier than 200 in a gym. Am I correct on that? Also, what is the monthly cost on it and are there frequent updates?

You are correct on the weight. The monthly fee is $51, which I don’t love, but you can have as many accounts on your machine as you want if you have family that will be sharing it.

I don’t particularly like going to gyms, and I also don’t like figuring out my own programs, so it’s perfect for me. Also, you can turn the weight on and off with the handles, allowing you to get in position before you lift. For someone that lifts alone, this is an incredible feature.

Browsing the NBA subreddit and somebody brought up Jared Sullinger. This will never not get me fully torqued. Apropos of nothing:

- My dad goes to every single one of those signing tours that come through Barleycorns in Highland Heights. He gets a kick out of cutting it up with the players. One of his favorite encounters was with Harrellson. He asked, “What were you going to do if Sullinger came after you?” Jorts answered, “I would’ve kicked his ***.” My dad has told me that story approximately 536x.

- Good to have you back, Chase.
