Just bought a groovy new bar fridge on EBay with local pickup... total sketch situation. Dude at the end of an truck loading dock gravel alley in a van. yikes. Hope it works. Dude had 4900 5-star reviews. 
. Gotta have faith in humans... Not all are scumbags, right? I’m an idiot for my naïveté - but I love a good deal.
An aside:
When we first moved into house 16 years ago, I bought a dishwasher off eBay... local pickup in Coney Island. BAD IDEA. My dad and I picked it up from some Russian dude at a chop shop on Cropsey Ave. Brand new and awesome for sure... but hotter than a $3 pistol. Told my hussy - “DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT REGISTER THIS APPLIANCE!”.
So a couple months after install, we got a call from the Wisconsin FBI asking questions as to where we got this unit. Obviously, she registered the product, then fingered the dude who sold it to us. Super.
Was fully expecting the Russian mob to shootup my house for a couple years. Thankfully, they either missed or shot someone else’s house up.

My cousin went to the scrimmage today. He said Levis looked fantastic.
I think Biden is doing an amazing job. Not sure how anyone could disagree. Dramatic change from the previous 4 years - glad to see America finally prospering again both at home & worldwide.

Buried my uncle today. In at least half of the memorial pictures of him he didn’t have a shirt on, so he was that kind of dude. My dad gave the eulogy, which damn near broke my heart. So hug your family and whatnot. Starting to realize this is more of a sprint than a marathon.
Sorry UCL, my uncle passed this morning.
Man, I’m sorry to hear that. Mine was one of those guys I thought would live forever. I’m sure it was the same for you.

An Uncle, when done well, is indeed a tremendous blessing. I lost a damn good one 6 years ago and still miss him greatly.
Condolences, 80 and UCL. Hearing you all talk about them so highly is a great way to honor their legacy.

I take pride in being an uncle. I became one at the age of 16 and have been called Uncy by my nephew and 2 nieces ever since.
I suspect that most on here have you on ignore, as I am about to do, so apologies to all of you.
But here’s the deal dude - shut the f**k up in here about this stuff. And to be clear, my objection is not content based. There’s plenty of people in here that probably agree with you. I may or may not, but that’s not the point. The point is, this is not the thread to discuss such things. There are other forums for the issues you wish to discuss. Please go to them.
My favorite uncle was a bad MF’er in his prime, I mean a bad dude. Was kicked out of the Marines, once punched his boss out cold, smoked, drank, cussed like a sailor and would just assume fight you more often than not. He and his first wife broke into some dude’s house and when the guy came home they tied him up and drove him to PA. He “allegedly” burned down another guy’s house because he was fairly certain he had been sleeping with his 3rd wife. If he loved you he loved you 110% but get on his bad side, well good luck.
He had stacks of Polaroids of different chicks in random naked poses or in the act. My favorite one was of him and his 4th wife. He was dressed in a Santa costume, she was in an elf costume and was eating a donut off his dong. He loved showing those things off, even went as far as teaching me his method to get the ladies to go along with the pics. Every Christmas I would get him 50.00 in scratch offs and a bottle of Makers. After the days festivities were over I’d head to his house, give him his “gifts” and we would proceed to get black out drunk drinking eggnog & Makers. Damn I miss that man.

Like I said man, I really don’t care what you say. I hear lots of stuff. I’m open minded and am open to multiple viewpoints. Hike your own hike - I respect that. The essential point, however, is that this is not the place. And regardless if there were other ancillary posts on this page concerning the same subject matter, you have a long record of sua sponte raising divisive political issues, for no other apparent reason than your own personal gratification. Okay, so enough of that, whatever I was just engaged in. Sorry y’all. Felt it needed to be said. We all deal with ******** all day. Don’t need them on here, the place that is our respite from the day to day.
- Drinking bourbon with my mom (she’s drinking Pinot Grigio) on the porch at the lake. Trying to soak times like these up, they won’t be around forever. (And lest anyone point out the irony, she’s getting her pj’s on while I quickly hammer these out.)
- My old man is getting ready to get out his vaporizer as soon as my mom goes to bed. My dad gets me higher than I’ve ever got in my life.
- I was too hard on Sturgill last night. I listened to it three times today, and love it. Same as the cutting grass albums - always in my rotation. I guess my point was/is that while this music is very, very good, it’s not transformative, like his old stuff was. But you know what - putting an expectation on a dude that his work not merely be “very very good” but “transformative” might be unfair. So, I stand down from my position last evening.
- My mom loves Neil Diamond, and you know what, I do too. Holly Holy is an all time banger. Now we’re on Kentucky Woman.
- Supreme Court decision today at least clarifies things. No more mandates without end. I was impressed by the fact it was a unanimous decision - good to see them speaking with a United voice on an issue that is so important and timely.
- Odds that Wayne’s woman inserts black anal beads into his ******* - over.
- Going to keep chilling on my 180 acre, 10 horsepower limit lake. Sometimes (not often) smaller is better. This place fits me perfectly. Been my happy place since my first memories - which is what, 3 or 4? In any event, give me brown *** north/eastern central Kentucky water. I love you, Kentucky. And I would die for you.

It was a pretty simple system. Basically he would just start out by taking pics of them in unassuming spots to get them comfortable with having their pics taken. Would proceed to take pics in their pj’s, nighties, shirts/pants off but not showing anything and after they were ok with that it was game on.
2 things to keep in mind:
A) I’m fairly certain there was alcohol and copious amounts of god knows what drugs involved.
2) The company he kept wasn’t exactly the
highest levels of society, these weren’t classy ladies by any means. I’m fairly certain the elf was strung out on the booger sugar by the look on her face.
And UCL and 80 - my apologies, I didn’t mention my regrets in my randoms. That wasn’t intentional. Please accept my thoughts on behalf of your families.
It sounds like both of the loved ones you lost were in the generation above us. I hope they were able to enjoy the young ones coming under them - as I’m sure they did. The longer I live, the more I’m convinced that the most fulfillment you can have in life is seeing the generations under you thrive and do well. Whether that’s your own kids (obviously), or your nieces/nephews, cousins, what have you. The kids are all that matter. We are but renting space here.

I eulogized my dad about 6 years to the day. Being closest to the deceased comes with consequence. I’m the last of the kids (5) and my siblings knew this was my role because I was Pop’s guy. Toughest thing I’ve ever done. In retrospect, the most important thing I have done.
With my mom already gone, this closed the chapter of being someone’s kid, someone to share everyday stories and grandkid’s accomplishments without fear of being haughty or braggadocious. Parents are your biggest fan, and when they’re gone - a giant piece of your perceived value is quickly invalidated.
The finality of death is sudden and vicious. The inability to ask a question or share is awful. Stranded.
Some on here are going through it now and it is awful. It fuggin hurts. Still does after 6 years, it may dull... but the space and corners you dwell in are forever less comfortable.

I’m not sure more poignant words have ever been spoken here. I, too, will deliver my old man’s eulogy when the time comes. Not because I’m necessarily the chosen one, although that’s what my brother used to call me back in the day, but because I am a firm believer that whoever the person chosen to do so should have an intimate knowledge of the individual. I really don’t want some preacher, who barely knows my dad, let alone anything relevant to his life, standing up there delivering some generic speech with a bunch of bible verses sprinkled in. Nope, I’m going to go all in. Tell a bunch of funny stories, maybe some cringe worthy, but I’ll damned sure do a better job of telling his story than anyone else.
