National news networks that have gone from news to entertainment pretending to be news have done a **** ton of damage to this country. All we have now are slightly different versions of Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith spitting hot takes and spinning, defending, deflecting and accusing. You insert that divisiveness into social media, giving Billy Jo American an echo chamber of his own friends and like-minded individuals, and now you have the current state of America.
No one believes anything unless it's from your team, and then you believe and defend them at all costs regardless of evidence. If your beliefs are too far out there for even your own friends, you'll seek solace in some horseshit corner of the internet or a Facebook group.
Now, no one has to admit they were wrong, or believe anything they don't want to believe, because there's a group somewhere out there that agrees with them. Dipshits can run wild with their nonsense theories, they can be willfully and loudly ignorant without repercussion because someone out there legitimizes their opinions.
There are people out there that, in 2020, believe the Earth is flat. There are people out there that believe airplane contrails are chemtrails in an attempt to control the population. There are people out there that believe Sandy Hook was fake. The list goes on and on and on.
Every person with power and money can easily manipulate massive amounts of people. I honestly don't see a way out of it. We seem so far down the line that there is no coming back from it.
