All the petty back and forth bickering we do on a daily basis is a drop in the bucket in the grand scheme of things. Be it UK sports. Louisville v Cincy v Lex. Keeneland attire. In-game redass. Mitch’s top button. Snackdowns. Go coach the Knicks c*cksucker!...

...whatever the topic du jour, it’s the camaraderie that makes this pace.

Prayers up to his beautiful family. We all eff around on this thing but I truly believe everything happens for a reason and the Lord does indeed work in mysterious ways. But I can't make any sense of this right now.

I'm just heartbroken. Dude was one of our own and a wonderful man -- from ALL accounts that knew him.

Don't blink, y'all. Gonna hug my own a little harder.

RIP, bub.

Everytime you think 2020 shows a glimmer of hope, something else absolutely ****** happens. I hate the news about NJT and it breaks my heart to read all your tributes. I knew him only through our communications during his time writing for KSR and after, but I was always impressed with his intellect, sense of humor and keen ability to dissect things to to their absolute core. Plus in the same way I used to say I liked having Ricky Jones on Hey Kentucky because he made me seem moderate, I loved having NJT in the Louisville rivalry because he got under their skin even more than I did.

Its also an example of how all of the nonsense we fight about is so meaningless in the grand scheme of things. A great family with three young daughters is all I can think about tonight and it absolutely breaks my heart. He was tweeting last night about panties on a head and nerds who didnt want to play football and a few hours he was gone, apparently on one of his child's birthdays. It's just not fair.

I spoke for a minute to his brother today and I think they would prefer it not be out there for a little longer. I am certain he would be ok with this conversation because of how much he cared about you guys. One story in that regard....he and I once had a difficult conversation about something he tweeted that I said if he did again would mean he couldnt write on KSR. As we argued about it on the phone while I sat in the parking lot, he said, "SEE this is why we should have done the GYERO blog, because it would have been better than KSR and we wouldnt have to worry about your liberal PC ********".....he then paused and laughed, "well it might not have been better but we still wouldnt have had to worry about your liberal ********."

He loved you guys and your personalities were a big part of his success. I will be praying for you guys along with his family tonight. RIP NJT

NJT was perhaps the greatest representation of a true blue wildcat fan the internet will ever see.

Every time he posted the “it’s been X days since Louisville won a championship” I cackled.

RIP.

He even managed to humanize The Real Jerry Tipton with that epic interview.

15+ years together cutting up, debating, roasting, melting down, celebrating, arguing, laughing, crying and rolling eyes. I’ve never met most of you guys in person, but I consider you all legitimate friends. GYERO has been around so long not because of UK sports, but because this is the one place we can hang out with our buddies whenever we want. Woodford was one us, he was a friend, and he will be sorely missed. Prayers for his wife and kids as they face an indescribably difficult time.

Rest In Peace, buddy. You were one of the best.

:(

Damn what a legend. NJT was a work of art. Never met the guy but I did share a few DMs with him back before he outed himself here. We need to win 9 and the East for our Wildcat friend.

This is pretty much my morning routine when I immediately wake up.

-check the radar (sweet, no storms out there)

-check the National Weather Service (looks like an awesome day and week ahead)

-check The Paddock. (Saw the RIP thread, went straight here. **** what a bummer.)

Thoughts to his family and those on here that knew him. Just awful.

I want to extend my heartfelt condolences to all of you who knew the man well. It always breaks my heart when someone young not only passes but has to leave behind a spouse and children. Absolutely terrible.

Well. That’s awful. I didn’t know him like you guys did. Only talked to him once, and then had a brief email exchange another time. Just seemed like a genuinely good dude. He and I used to post at The Goat Pen, many years ago, and the funny thing is he really showed no signs of the humor we’d eventually see in NJT. This makes me sad in a way that’s hard to explain or understand. And it angers me, a little, to know that there are folks on a Louisville board that will be celebrating this news.....

When I first started posting in here ~12 years ago, everyone was just a faceless internet personna to me. I knew y’all knew each other and I was an outsider just trying to be part of the conversation.

Over the years I’ve bumped into a few of you guys at events, had brief conversations, or maybe just joked around on twitter. I’ve used this place as a way to announce some milestones of my daughter, the birth of my son, the struggle of my mother’s cancer battle, and so on. Basically, what once was just a weird place to vent about sports became a uniquely humanized community.

I’ve seen you guys announce weddings, pregnancies, and accomplishments on here that have given me real joy in a way that is indescribable and a little weird. Y’all aren’t just internet friends, but are like real friends to me now.

Woodford friended me on Facebook no longer than 2 months ago. I saw his recent beach vacation with his lovely wife and beautiful daughters. He became a real person to me and to hear this unfortunate news has hurt me in a way I can’t explain. RIP, buddy.

Yeah, this sucks from a lurker’s perspective too. I have read this thread for 15ish years. I don’t “know” any of you, but at the same time I feel like I do “know” many of you, at least through this one sliver of your lives, if that makes any sense.

Heart felt condolences from a lurker to his family and those of you who knew him. Hopefully, his wife and children can find some solace in the future knowing how many people found a laugh through his humor.

Praying for his family. By all accounts, he was a great, great dude. Wished I'd have known him more personally like several of you did. His Twitter account, while legendary, clearly paled in comparison to his real persona. RIP, good sir.

Love you, GYERO peeps.

I didn't know him like most that have been on here for quite some time. I enjoyed his creativity and wit on Twitter.

To those of you that know me and really knew him as a friend please know I'm thinking about you and I'm sorry for your loss.

Pretty sobering news. Impossible to fathom the heartbreak and devastation for his family. I’m completely speechless.
