I thought we had reached the point where everyone knew the makes aren't there to protect you from getting the virus. They're there to keep people from spitting all over everything when they cough, sneeze, talk, mouth breath, etc.

Solid elevator pitch.

Except I’d not suggest Down Home be one that he do. He’d be so far above me in this industry with what he has to offer he’d be silly not to have his distributors reaching out to BT, HH, WT or ANY of the major brands.

-The Oral History of this weekend is going to be fascinating. SEC makes a big production of the schedule release and like 30 minutes later Forde is saying the B1G is calling it. By mid-weekend everyone is canceling, last night we have a vocal leader for the players fighting back, this morning SEC is fighting for a season. B1G out on an island. DeSantis telling ACC/SEC is to rob the other leagues players. Lol.

-I have no real hot take on football, but even as a rational virus fan, football is obviously the most difficult sport to play safely. 99.9% of the players are fine but even on UK, should Schlarman be on the sidelines? Would Pascal have any issues? There has to be 300 people around the programs. With our current set of expectations, regarding what is successful/failure, I just don't see how it works.

-Libertarians had quiet the ride this week with Jo having to suspend a events, due to a bat bite incident, and possibly having rabies. I've never felt more connected with a candidate. Fate.

-Instant Pot Taco Meat Recipe. It's good.

-PGAC, what a great tourney. Morikawa seems like the total package. What a stud.

-Reds:mad:

-Hey Matty Bangs, I'll be at your golf scramble Friday.

You're telling me my candidate got bit by a bat and may have rabies? Jesus touching christ.

Who's running for the Green Party? May need to switch before the primary.

I had no intention of sucker punching Matt with my post. I should have posted his whiny tweet that my post was related to. He actually had a tweet thread a couple hours earlier that was pretty even on it. I don't want his bar, his site or his show to fail due to this. That was never my intention.

But the collateral damage of a cancelled college football season will be mind-blowing. I can't even wrap my head around it. I think UK is in a better position than many schools but there will be programs dropped and jobs eliminated.

The thing about The Libertarian Party this year Is it’s not just a bunch of right wing people that want to smoke weed. A lot of the Bernie bro’s And commies are gonna be voting for Jo this go around. Obviously not gonna be close to winning but I think we will at least get the 5%

I can't understand what changed with the Big10. They just had schedule reveal show for programming on the Big10 Network on Wednesday and then will cancel today. I have not seen anything that would trigger that quick of a turnaround.

-My job is based on federal requirements so I *think* I am safe for the time being, but If the SEC does scrap the fall season then I imagine there will be some layoffs here. We survived the 2008 crisis and this one up to this point with some slight pay reductions but nobody lost their jobs (though we didnt fill a lot of positions once people left/retired).

-I think the decision to play/not play is one of the biggest in the history of higher education. Maybe that says something that the biggest economic decision is based on athletics and anything related to academics- but nonetheless the trickling financial impact is going to be a tough pill to swallow.

-Mengus taking shots at Demling's family bc Jody was reporting on the initial Trevor Lawrence plea to play was really bizarre. Although it seems that Mark has changed his stance after seeing the overwhelming majority of athletes want to play and feel better about their safety in the current protocols than they do outside of those walls.

-I'm the praying type, and I've been keeping all of you that have choices to make on kids going back to school in those prayers. I can't imagine the stress of worrying about your child's health- even if the odds say they will be fine.

-I think there are more people out there that publicly mock Trump for being a lunatic, who will cast their vote for him in November behind the curtain. I guess that's how he won in the first place. I doubt Don wins, but I think it will be much closer than whatever the polls say, especially if Biden keeps speaking in public.

-My mother found a couple of old decanters that belonged to my grandfather that were gifted to him during his time working at Glenmore Distillery. She mentioned one still had "a good bit left in it" and I can't imagine how awful that swill would taste. I've got some others from his collection, one which was my great grandfathers that he received from four roses when he ran a still there. I dig the nostalgia of having those around.

- Morikawa has stepped up and nutted a driver to the green a few times in the final rounds of his tour wins. He was more than just steady- he took the risks and never flinched.

-Wolff's tie-dyed shoe game is pretty sick- obviously not something normal 15 handicappers should attempt, but still dope.

Dan Patrick Show- SEC is looking for other schools to join them in a tv deal to play this season.

Glad to hear your gig would be safe.

Dominos already starting to fall. My sister-in-law is an assistant volleyball coach at a school in the WAC. Team won their conference last year and made the NCAA-T. Due to budget cuts within the university, she'll be out of a job at the end of year. Not that the job paid a lot, and her family is thankfully OK financially, but it still hurts.

-Fran Fraschilla's pure disdain for Dan Wolken has quickly turned into one of my Twitter hatboggans.

-Any take on CFB is just rehash until the decisions come down. I just hope all the footballs win.

-I will say this...if the whole "cancel every sport because you can't play football" approach of the MAC, etc. filters down to the high school level, I'll be writing another letter to the school board. Not figuring out a way for 60 kids to play a full-contact sport shouldn't affect my kid's ability to run a 5k through the woods by herself. The financial web isn't as intertwined on the HS level, but I could see it being a FAIRNESS!!!1 issue.

-I actually thought that Peevy taking the DePaul job would lead to a dismissal of that retread Dave Leitao, and then a hiring of Kenny Payne at DePaul. Payne would KILL IT in that job. Maybe he's just sick of the recruiting grind, I don't know. Then again, much of their "grind" has essentially been Zoom calls for the past five months.

-If KP leaves, you need a guy who can navigate the current CBB recruiting landscape. It's no longer just locking down 5-stars, you have to know how to work the transfer wire like an ace. Two younger assistants who seem like studs in that regard are Matt Abdelmassih (Hoiberg's guy at ISU and now Nebraska, and who also recruited strongly at St. John's in between) and Ulric Maligi at Texas Tech. Think both of those guys would kill it. I'd be happy with either.

Bruiser makes more sense for the Barbee/Robic spot...the "Cal guy" who isn't necessarily major HC material, but is trusted by Cal and can handle big-picture stuff while leaving recruiting to the other guys. I know Barbee has gotten credit for some recent recruiting wins, but I still question how much of that was actually him.

-Crazy how a small touch like sauteed mushrooms or pickled onions can elevate a dish.

-For real though, our school board sucks.

We planning on adding a total slimeball whose only responsibility is to handle the shady recruiting, the elusive bagmen, the seedy underground craziness of the AAU world, the secret illegal payments from the shoe companies, and ultimately take the fall for the good of the program to the coaching staff?

Not overly concerned about anyone else, to be honest.

hey idiot, nobody is actually worried about their child’s health. It’s all just ******* liberal public school teachers trying to get Biden elected president. Try and keep up.

Most profitable Golf Tourney to date, by farrrrrrr

-$10 Morikawa @ +3000 pre tourney
-$100Mori/DJ/Brooks -120 to win
-$100 Rahm T17 or better
-$54 Easy winner of our group DK context
-$200 for 249th (out of 40,000) in the DK 1M contest

...nice lil $750. Huge day at Travers, too -- about time. :fire:

-Morikawa will reach #1 within 2 years, and probably sooner. I'll take that action if anyone wants it. Was clear early he was different -- many think he's already the best striker on tour...so if he leads the field (as he did this weekend) or is anywhere close in putting ---> ballgame.

So many forget that the presidential election is decided by a dozen states at this point and Ky ain't one of them. I had to remind people of this Saturday at my son's 7th birthday party with some authority that may have temporarily scared and hurt some feelings. In other news, people REALLY need some distractions in life.

The family is all in with lake life at this point. Outside of my wife getting a taste for SEC football due to living in Birmingham during pharmacy school this may be one of my biggest personal wins. A beer, peanut butter filled pretzels, some '70s rock, and a pontoon can make this drivel a lot more palatable.

I mean this sincerely- this is WHEN SEC puts their $$$ where their mouth is with the “it just means more” stuff. Does it really or is it all Yosimite Sam grandstanding?

Let’s see if our compadres of 90 years have the stomach to play some damn ball this year.

If CFB is canceled, it's not because "America failed."

No, the country didn't handle everything perfectly, and yes, it became political because everything is stupid.

But no matter how things were handled from the outset and how many masks were worn, how much social distance was practiced, and how many gallons of hand sanitizer was used, there would still be positive cases. Especially among 20 year old college kids who have been locked up for 5 months and just want to party, man.

And because there would still be positive cases, you would still have risk-averse college administrators scared to death of even one player getting the virus, which could expose the school to liability.

And the advent of social media has just exacerbated the problem, given that every positive case is being treated like 9/11.

So if CFB is canceled, it's not because "America failed." It's because 2020 is the worst and the decision makers are short-sighted cowards.

Should I keep the classroom door open to improve circulation and protect from Covid?

Or should I keep it closed to protect from an active shooter situation?

Tough questions.
Yeah reading the school district’s plan in this very issue was a real uplifting piece of “welp, here we are as a society!” the other day.

FYI- doors get closed for drills or “events”. During shooter drills the kids are supposed to social distance but if there’s an actual shooter you don’t have to social distance.

It seems like everywhere you look people are terrified of Covid liability. To me, this seems like a nearly impossible claim to prove. How can you prove someone got it specifically from either someone at work, or during football practice, or whatever.

Yeah, you may have been around someone that had it, and then you may have gotten it, but that doesn't prove ****. Unless you were literally around no other person, you could've gotten it from anyone. Did you go to the grocery, did you go to a bathroom more than one person uses, did you walk within 6 feet of ANYONE else at ANY TIME in the last two weeks? There is just no possible way to prove you got it from a specific person. If any business or school gets sued over it, they should have the nuts to defend that claim vigorously and not payout due to social pressure.
