Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin, MSU, Iowa and maybe Penn State are talking about combining with some schools from the Big 12 for this season if the B10 commish cancels the season.

In all seriousness and not politically driven, I’m hearing that the vaccine will be good to go in November. If that’s really accurate, I’d argue that waiting for a few months on a lot of activities would be prudent I’d you really believe it will save 20K+ lives. I’m just not sure if it does.

Matt Jones is in a true conundrum. A liberal that wants the virus to ruin the Economy but does not want his business to fail.

You are really stupid. I knew that before but your tweets to me today confirmed it. I had my "too stupid to have a rational conversation list" on GYERO set simply for UKO, UK_Dallas and Century Cat (Mashburned goes on and off the list...sometimes he entertains me). You have hovered on it for awhile and today I realized that in the decade plus of reading this, you have never said one thing that has ever stood out as being interesting. So now I can complete my "GYERO MT Rushmore of Suck" with you. Thanks for that

The SEC folks got word today that the Big Ten was not playing. It came as a bit of a surprise and I am not sure what they do immediately. They are scheduled for a conference wide meeting on Wednesday but it may get moved up until tomorrow. The Big Ten told the other five power conferences that they wanted all to agree to cancel at the same time, but if they didn't, they would announce they weren't playing on Tuesday. We shall see how it all plays out

Whats odd is on the UK end going into this weekend, there was a lot of confidence that things were looking up for potentially getting started. I have no idea how this changes everything but I think it is safe to say that the SEC leaders are not where the Big Ten leaders are, at least as of this weekend

I think there is a very good chance we lose Kenny Payne and if Depaul offers Dewayne Peevy, we will lose him too. That would be a big loss for the basketball program. Both men play HUGE roles in keeping that thing going and I think they will be difficult to replace. Kenny is not only a good recruiter but he is the player liaison with Calipari and I think he is a HUGE reason the relationship between Cal and players goes so well. He can be replaced, but I don't think a Bruiser Flint type does it. I hope Calipari agrees and I think he does.

Dewayne is irreplaceable on many levels. Mitch and Cal are not close and for years Dewayne has basically been the basketball AD and has kept two personalities peaceful who are diametrically opposite in nearly every way. I honestly have no idea what happens if that relationship is gone. Without Dewayne here, I wonder if Calipari would have lasted this long in Lexington.

If we don't have football this fall it's going to suck. Not just as a fan, but from a business perspective too. I think its hilarious all the idiots out there who say liberals (or this liberal in particular) wants to see the economy fail to get Trump. I find Trump to be the absolute worst, but I would much prefer a positive economy and no virus than what we are going through now. As terrible as he is, a Presidential election doesn't change my daily personal or business life like this has.

KSR the website and radio show have been amazingly resilient considering what is going on...I hope that continues in the fall without sports, but who knows. The restaurant will be much harder. Those huge Saturdays are profit makers that make the whole thing go. Without them, it will be very tough. Being an event bar without events ain't easy

* Kenny Payne would be a big loss but the coaching staff has been stagnant for years now. I'm down with bringing Antigua and Strickland back and letting it roll.

I'm surprised Payne would leave for an NBA assistant job rather than a head coaching gig at a mid-major. Seems like a fairly lateral move, especially while his son is at UK.

Maybe he just wants to coach and figures that there won't be college basketball until at least 2021.

* The rumblings about OSU, etc joining the Big 12 for a year are interesting. If there is a schism amongst Big 5 conferences on playing this year, you would figure that the SEC will put some pads on and scoff at pussies.

The rumors about OSU etc temporarily joining the Big 12 came out last week before the news broke that the Big 10 is cancelling the season, which makes me think they are likely credible.

If half the Big 10 tells its commish to piss off and plays football, that would make me a proud American.

* I wish the KSR pirate ship well during the pandemic.

* Remember in March when the message was 15 Days To Slow The Spread? That worked well.

Sweden said to hell with it and lost 5,000 people and now appears to be through it. Meanwhile we sit in purgatory where we are half-locked down, the rules and norms change every day, and there is no end in sight, even if there is a vaccine magically dropped from the sky.

At some point society has to re-open and people just have to accept the risk (which is minimal for the vast bulk of the population) and protect those that are vulnerable.

We are ruining America over nothing more than fear and optics.

"..but I would much prefer a positive economy and no virus than what we are going through now." ....you mean, like the economy was doing under Trump before the virus. The recent jobs reports probably have your panties in a wad as well. And you would "prefer" a positive economy.....as if there is a choice????? Good grief.

"The restaurant will be much harder." ...well, tell your illustrious liberal leader leader in Frankfort to get rid of his asinine percent capacity rules, or better yet, have Mayor Gorton explain why Lexington isn't fully open given the cases we have.

"Being an event bar without events ain't easy." ....have protest nights on Friday's w/ 50% off drafts. It will draw hundreds w/o so much as a glance from Andy.

You may want to look out the window instead of looking in the mirror to see what the real world is going through right now.

Get TF over it, dude. Masks are an easy thing to do and likely help. Why you have such a hard-on about this is beyond me.

And F Joe Bob.
I’m wearing my mask wcc, please don’t curse at me...just over the message that it’s one small segment of society standing between us and opening back up. I’m sorry the dude working 14 hour shifts in the coal mines took his one vacation a year with his family.

Basically politicians and woke twitter blaming the people that get blamed for everything. It’s a false narrative but a convenient one.

Oh and news for you- your little virus thread is nothing but a circlejerk echo chamber. Shocking it became that here. [laughing]

You MFers want to start the week like this?????

EAT ****.
Sure, we can start it off like this.

Echo chamber. Lol. Anything you disagree with is an "echo chamber." Don't read it big guy, just keep picking up the WaPo, NPR, and CNN.

I see you in there liking stuff, texting me about it, etc. Maybe if your team wasn't so blinded by embarrassment, in dropping 2016 to this *** clown, and only focused on beating Trump, we wouldn't be destroying large swaths of the economy while shaming normal citizens over the least effective mitigation effort. Remember, we only considered masks the golden magic safety cloak after democrat supported mass protests/riots erupted across the country during a pandemic.

So, lick on them balls.

I largely agree and it’s still a circlejerk echo chamber. Not mutually exclusive. A guy came in last week disagreeing and you all ran him out. It’s a bunch of people agreeing with each other, patting themselves on the back for how reasonable they’re being.

So...big shift here last week. A lot of people just said to hell with this **** and went about living their lives. I let my kids play a baseball game the other day...against the rules (baseball runners are forbidden bc of science...lol). Soccer and lacrosse coaches all over the area said to hell with it and started having secret full contact practices. And parents actually allowed their kids to go!!!! :eek:

And this weekend at the beach? Yeah people just said **** it...it’s 80 and Sunny. Let’s go to the ******* beach and do beach things.

It’s been a long ******* time here. 5 months of ********. I have a bushy *** white beard. And I’m tired. Time to start living again.

If you really thought that people would stay in and follow the rules, you should have paid attention to the fact that 2 of the first 10 people in the Commonwealth of Kentucky who came down with Covid-19 refused to stay in their homes and we had to have a deputy post up outside their house.

I don't have any doubt that, in a tightly controlled, completely sterile environment like a research lab or an operating room, that masks "work." Of course, that's not the world we live in. Even if you're lucky enough to get ahold of an N95, which is the Holy Grail of surgical masks, you must wear it appropriately on your cleanly shaven face, perfectly applying the seal in a single use fashion by clean, bacteria free, washed hands directly out of the packaging. Skip any of those steps, and the N95 is mostly useless.

Meanwhile, Jo Bob in Perryville grabs a sweaty old bandana out of his garage (the one he typically wears on his head during the summer on his zero turn mower), slaps is across his face and heads into the grocery store. Handles cash. Touches the door handle. Plays with his smart phone. Scratches his ear. Pushes his hair back. Ya know, the exact same process you see an ER physician go thru as he's about to perform surgery on a patient. Just over here stopping the spread one grocery store visit at a time! #maskup

Mags I’ve vaguely suggested this, but in case you hit a hard spot with KSR Bar You should be working on some bourbon barrel picks to release through the restaurant.

Several places do this now and it gives a quick boost. Those place include Barn8, Merle’s Whiskey Kitchen, Silver Dollar etc etc.

With your ability to market it, there isn’t a distillery in the state that wouldn’t love to have you in the bourbon game, and taking advantage of your states heritage well..........

You know how you stop the spread?

* lose weight
* exercise more
* eat better
* be outside
* fresh fruits and veggies
* go for a walk
* get some fresh air

Fairly certain I haven't heard a single one of these tips from a politician or medical leader. [eyeroll]

I've got a business degree. I know wtf I'm talking about.

HOT TAKE -

Trump was going to get his *** smoked in November no matter what - people are just tired of his ******** and the ******** that ******** brings with it. The possibility of the Rs losing the Senate, though, is only there because of the events of the last 6 months or so.

How about the chickenshit administrators at the B1G calling around trying to convince all Power5 schools to cancel on the same day so they don't have to take heat alone? What a joke. If you're going to pull the plug on the season and believe wholeheartedly that it's paramount to player safety, why wait? Have the balls to make the call yourself.

Them calling AD's in hopes they'll get on board like a high school teenager trying to win a popularity contest shows you right there it's more about the PR hit and backlash than it is about safety first.
