I don’t generally care for pineapple but toss some rings on the grill with a melted butter/cinnamon/brown sugar baste, cut up over vanilla ice cream with a drizzle of the baste....shew we. Only redeeming aspect of August is all of the fresh veggies and fruits.

ESPN 2 has a documentary right now about foosball professionals leading up to the world championships in Lexington last fall.

These people look like the same type of weirdos from the King of Kong documentary.

There were some weird Chinese dudes in my dorm Freshman year who were amazing at foosball. Games looked like the fast ping pong games you would see at the Olympics. One of the dudes got kicked out of school for taking multiple ***** in the hallway/stairs at the dorm. Weird weird weird dudes. But unbeatable at the foosball.

Screw paying college athletes. The power five conferences need to come together and say 1) It’s amateur athletics only and 2) if you don’t like it go play at Fresno St in front of 20K people. Hold up rigorous academic standards and don’t agree to play anybody who doesn’t do the same. You’ll have just as much revenue, four year players, and better sports.

I don’t really see why the NCAA makes this so hard, give athletes a scholarship and platform to showcase their skills and allow them to hire agents and make money anyway they can on the side.

All you are doing there is taking the current black market of paying college players and legalizing it. No longer do you have to monitor or enforce your draconian rules and you aren’t the one having to pony up the money.

Correct. And for all the, "(x) Car Dealer will just pay a million dollars for the next star." They already are, all the big coaches are paid through built in endorsement deals with local advertisers as part of their salary.

Probably the worst gambler on this forum but after seeing how the course was later in the day and the nerves getting to them, would be surprised if it's not Koepka or DJ.

Figuring out the money to be made in golf gambol is so much easier in the 1st two rounds than the money line odds you get on Saturday and Sunday.

White Wayne basically just laid out the current disastrous NCAA playbook that is in the process of leading to it’s inevitable demise, then doubled and tripled down on it.

Amazing.

How high you think they’re gonna hang the peach baskets under this new system, WW?

Cam Champ looks like he's about to bust open. Unreal mechanics on his drives and absolutely crushes. Really laid back/calm demeanor. He showed a lot yesterday recovering on 15 for a bogey after some bad luck on his approach. But then hits an iron on 16 when he's got more than enough length to get there. His approach stats are not great. 140th range there.

Xander is due. He'd be my surprise for today. Complete game and just lacks the experience right now.

No offense guys, but you guys sound like ****** negotiators and I bet your children walk all over you. If you're faced with a significant cost hit (e.g., having to pay your players), you call their f'ing bluff until you are seriously on the brink.

There is no other market for them - especially in football. And the last thing you want to do is give into some 19-year old halfway illiterate douche-bag who is upset that he didn't make the starting lineup by pandering to him when he feels like he's been mistreated.

Come out strong with, "you're getting a free education, which frankly costs more than you're worth. And if you don't like it have your **** out of the dorms by tomorrow. Check out's at noon."

The main issue Wayne is that with the star players their market value exceeds the monetary value of the scholarship and until the NCAA recognizes that gap & allows NIL the underground market will continue to exist & cheating will continue.

I think some of these kids have finally figured out what their labor is REALLY worth (hint - a lot more than a college degree that seems to diminish in value by the minute) and the schools are scared shitless about it. I thought people getting paid for the value of their labor was the American way, but maybe I’m old-fashioned.

The old strategy of “we can’t trust you people with money so we’ll just keep it for ourselves” doesn’t appear to be working any longer.

And you shouldn’t pay players. You should allow them to make money. Huge difference. Open up the proverbial floodgates, and in all likelihood there’s MORE money for the NCAA and schools, not less.

-im all for letter payers get endorsements, paid for likeness. The market will decide who is worth paying.

-the reality is the kids ucl talks about...who's value is greater than the benefits they receive is a tiny percentage of college athletes, thats when "labor" collectivization comes into play...which will ruin college athletics.

^may not be a bad thing. "Student athlete" is largely just a veneer at p5 "revenue generating" sports.

-everything sucks right now.
