Aviation - THE classic (up) warm weather cocktail.

3 ounces gin

1/2 ounce (or less for drier) Maraschino liqueur (this is NOT cherry brandy etc. get Luxardo maraschino (can be difficult to find but Liquor Barn sometimes has it)

juice of half a lemon

teaspoon of creme de violette


Shake in a cocktail shaker and strain into a cocktail glass. Drop a maraschino cherry in it and thank me later.
