Chase is 6 years late to the credit card game and will have 50 more questions for each card. Go read tpg or mms. The SWCP is easily the most written about score.

Team Mash on this one.

They usually hit at the next statement closing date after you meet the spend...that would be cutting it extremely close. I'd google some specific data points (reddit is actually a great place for churning questions)

When you get the pass, you get it for remainder of year + next year. Ideally though, you want to get it in the first month or two of the year, giving you nearly 2 years of the CP.

I'd wait and get the other Personal Card (there are 2 versions) + Business Card, and then hit your minimum spends as early in 2020 as you can. You'll need to cancel your current personal card if you go that route though under the new rules, I'm pretty sure.

Appreciate the info. What you're telling me is pretty much exactly what the SW lady just told me. She said get the card, don't activate it until you use it in early December, which for me would be December 2nd and I'd then make the 5K purchase. Apparently the points will then post on 1/1 or 1/2. Then apply for a new personal card when they have the 50 or 60K bonus early in the year, then profit. She did tell me though not to cancel the current personal card until I got both new cards though, so I'm not sure exactly how to handle that, as it's the opposite of what you just said.

I'm actually not going to be churning like you guys, I just need something now to maximize points. I'm starting my solo practice on 1/1 and have some fairly expensive software I need to purchase on 12/2, so Marcus try and get a companion pass out of the deal.

Anth asked me a billion questions when he started (and I did the same to @ukguy78), don't let him punk you.

She's incorrect.

That's because you can't have more than one personal Southwest credit card at once. If you have one, you'll have to cancel it before you open another. Additionally, you're not eligible for the bonus on Chase Southwest personal cards if you're earned the bonus on any Chase Southwest personal card in the past 24 months.

^ so you may be screwed either way (this didn't used to be the case). Rules are changing and tougher all the time...but there are loopholes. Do some googling, people are always chiming in w/ specific scenarios, and like Anth said, CP strategy is by far the most commonly discussed one.

Definitely do not rely on Fatima Patel from Customer Service.

-speaking of, he gave some insight on that whole protest business over there. Not black and white as it is being presented in western media/not all students/many think protesters are being paid by the US, yada yada yada. Hopefully it doesn't effect delivery date. LOL/JK(kinda).

Donuts, while delicious, are a pretty easy pass for me. Maybe induldge 2-3 times per year, out of probably 30 opportunities from various people/vendors bringing them in at work all the damn time. Today was a fail, and quickly reminded why ^ ---> Just 1 of those suckers will make you feel like complete ****, moreso than any other single portion of pretty much anything I can think of.

As a lad, there wasn't a better breakfast on Saturday mornings than a whole damn box of Rich's Glazed Dounuts from the microwave, a huge glass of milk, and a half day of cartoons.

Yeah, those ****** things were unreal, basically dissolved in your mouth.

Same for Mini Muffins. Same for the mini 'wet' sausage/cheese biscuits. Microwaved "breakfast" was pretty much a staple as a kiddo.

Also, the key to a perfect Strudle was a quick zap before hitting the Toaster.

We do not *need* 80 yards passing for a win, you serious? If we have 80 yards passing, it likely means we're losing big or hit a HR, which would just be a bonus.

Surprise, guess who has an issue with DONUTS.

I've been eating leftover pecan pie the last two days, and you know what? I certainly don't feel bad. Maybe the only thing better than donuts for breakfast would be pie, and that's how I'm living right now through the holiday season.

I actually hope we have zero passing yards, 500 yards rushing, and win by 3 TDs. To do so would be a complete and total mind f*ck and we’d get to toss out the “we destroyed you without passing the ball at all and using a WR as quarterback” for a good while.

That would be nice...but I still think Bowden completes one of those terrible long throws and we get near the 80 yard mark with 7 short completions plus the 1 big gain.

The Papa appears to be spiraling a bit. He's had a rough year.

I'm often critical, so it's only fair that I share we actually had the best Papa John's in recent memory Sunday evening. Was thinking it was just one of those special times your chain delivery gets made with a little extra care...thing looked like a TV Commercial pie, and was excellent (on the chain delivery scale) [thumb2]

Or maybe he's onto something?

The secret was getting the crust with just the right amount of cheese and sauce clinging to it before you dunked it in the garlic butter.

Is there better pizza out there? Of course! But I got no hate for some Pizza Papa John’s.

(Also grabbing a couple when they stack them up by the gates at CWS as you leave the game for the walk back to the car...)

Someone probably should have taken ol' Stephan aside before doing that interview. The rolled on bigen hairline, Merril Hoge extry wide tie knot, and multi-color Stacy Adams wingtips was a little aggressive imo.

From most accounts, Papa John sucks as a person...but part of me still kinda feels for him getting railroaded over some overblown BS, and losing his company and everything he worked his entire life for. I can imagine myself coming across as a bit unstable in that desparate of a situation.

-I asked off the board like once. We know chase's history. Lol, dude actually called SW to inquire how to game their companion pass. That's great. We've always waited until early January to hit the min spend for the bonus, btw. Just to be safe. Dump that SW biz card after you're done and switch to ink.

-I can usually skip doughnuts but if I give in I go way overboard... and yeah it's miserable. Sugar crash, still hungry later because of hollow calories, disgusting fat slob guilt.

-The infamous SIL. :eyes:
