Bike riders basically can't take the scenic byways and backroads of horse country like they used to. Too many semi trucks are running through there with reckless abandon. Keene Rd, Shannon Run, Pisgah Pike, Jacks Creek, etc are all the new shortcuts for these tractor trailers. Makes the morning commute a bit more treacherous. ********.

Gambol guy liking Miami, OH getting 20 against the Cayts? K.

WKU kicking off the college football season tomorrow at noon. Nebraska-Northwestern a half hour later playing in Dublin, Ireland. Probably stay up late tomorrow night to catch Vandy at Hawaii.

WGT is a very decent golf game on the laptop. Only way I'll ever play St. Andrews I suppose.

Poor Brandon Knight. The moment he got buried under a nasty Deandre Jordan dunk people forgot he was a bucket at UK and a solid pro to that point.

Dennis Dodd thinks Stoops wins 10 more games this year then bounces to Auburn. If that happens, Barnhart's tenure will officially be on the clock, especially if Cal can get #9 with his squad.

* Anti-Inflammatories currently have mine under control, bit hip arthritis kind of sucks.

* Gainesville itinerary set. Thurs & Fri parking in a RV "resort" with all of the appropriate hook ups. Saturday, parking and tailgating at a house near the stadium (similar to the Schem's proximity to the Krog). No hook ups, just our generator. Touch it.

I'll be in the UK section wearing blue. Look for me.

* Made a little homemade low carb Indian food last night. Butter Chicken. 9/10. Served it on Zoodles. (Rice for the kids).

* Watched the GOT spinoff. Pretty good start. They even threw in a couple of orgies to keep the original series' flavor.

* Invited a bunch of neighbors over to come over tonight & help me drink the 150 beers I have left over from last weekend.

* A coworker got scammed & robbed at TJ Maxxxxxx the other night. An older hispanic lady distracted her with a question about the price on something, another lady got between her & her cart and a man came up and took the wallet out of her purse in the cart. All on video. Within 15 minutes her credit cards were used to buy a bunch of stuff at a nearby Walmart. Mainly gift cards. Again, these people were caught on video, already with a change of clothes and hairstyles. Still at large.

At first I was extremely sympathetic, but I am hearing about it at full volume thru my office walls all day long. I mean, she is literally on a phone call discussing it every 5 minutes. I cannot stress enough how loud she is. This is the 3rd day.

How many touching cards can she be canceling?

* A trip down next week for the Miami game is back in play. Just a warning... I am getting better touching looking every single day. I mean, damn.

* The Redskins, err Red Hawks, are a pretty solid MAC squad. Don't be discouraged by it not being a blowout.

That being said, I think we ARE going to blow them the touch out. I like my team.

* Chief, don't stick your Johnson in that watermelon hole. Or do... who am I to judge?

* Have a good Friday, kids.

I dedicate this post to cricket 😉. FCPS hosting what sounds like a great program to take place in their schools…only problem is everyone EXCEPT white kids can participate. That is what school told me when I asked about the program. Letter that was sent to parents is below.

In an effort to maintain open lines of communication between home and school, here is an important message from Fayette County Public Schools.

All students of color* are invited to join the YMCA Achievers program! YMCA Achievers will be meeting twice monthly at BMS during 1st hour. Students will explore careers and learn about leadership, set goals, engage with mentors from local community businesses and industries, and more. Students will also participate in Saturday Summits at the YMCA with even more hands-on activities. All Achievers get a FREE YMCA membership! For more information email the YSC Coordinator, or register ONLINE by Friday, August 26th. There is an orientation at the Whitaker YMCA on Saturday, August 27th from 9 am - NOON.

*This is not limited to black students.

A drive that should have taken 12 hrs overnight took 14.5. Brutal but the kids did as well as we could expect. Jelicho mountain with 5ft visibility due to fog and a driving rainstorm was fun at 4am though. Took me all but 6 hours to remember how much Berea sucks.

Contactless delivery has changed the game, for sure. Before that COVID-inspired option, the actual face-to-face encounter with whatever derelict showed up at your house in a rusted out '82 Buick Skylark was terrifying. I'd feel more comfortable making a hand-to-hand heroin transaction with a junkie in a back alley.

- @Ron Mehico ...you gonna make a schemgate this year? It's beyond time. Also @pretzel__logic and @Kooky Kats ...you're on the clock.
I just consulted the home game schedule again and I am stuck doing wedding garbage, going to some other damn wedding, or trial prep (because sure, I have three cases going to trial in the next 60 days on top of a wedding) every damn weekend until we destroy Louisville at the Krog. This is lame and I hate it. A thousand pardons.

Our wedding venue is a golf course and we have full run of the clubhouse bar. The Cats whuppin' Mizzou (and UC playing Army too, as I'm marrying into a Bearcat clan...better than Cards, I guess) will be on for the duration. We only agreed to a fall wedding date because we could have football visible the whole time. We're not leaving for honeymoon til the Monday afterwards because the Bengals are at home and other half and his dad will be in their season ticket seats the morning after the wedding, probably both feeling like death warmed over.

@Willy ...yes. Yes it was. "It's Not Easy Being Green," etc.

In addition to being ridiculously overpriced, I've noticed a sharp uptick in the Skylark-types showing up with deliveries (not just DoorDash). Also, every single time I get a "Sherry is approaching with your order" text, the person who shows up on my porch is definitely not named Sherry. There's always 2-3 other people in the car looking some variation of not-sober.

I can walk to a Papa John’s, Pizza Hut, Jet’s Pizza, Chinese Restaurant, Grimes Chicken, Subway, Fazoli’s, Burger King, Taco Bell, Rally’s, KFC or McDonalds in about 10 minutes so I have a hard time imagining any circumstance I would wait an hour to have someone deliver me food.

When I want my food I want it immediately.

I’m not sure anything triggers my rage more than having already waited an hour and 10 mins for my 45min dinner delivery to get to my house then seeing the estimated time to get to my house change from 6 mins to 35 mins because “your driver is stopping with another order first” 🤬. I’d honestly prefer not to see their map location most of the time as it just stresses me out. Uber Eats with “priority delivery” is crucial. I don’t let my wife order anymore out of fear she won’t click that option.

If somebody could invent a container to keep food warm without steaming it, they’d make a fortune. The OG delivery foods, pizza and Chinese, don’t really have this issue. Most everything else is consistently disappointing.

DoorDash driver nailed someone's car here at the office this week and left. DoorDash wont even give the police the driver's info. All on cam (except tag of course) yet still won't, they have to get a damn subpoena to get the info.

I’ll be in for South Carolina… but again, I’m guiding a group of my 2 brothers, 2 nephews and my son.

As an alternative, maybe some pre-game meetups at Keeneland as to not be a rude prick and have us strangers infiltrate someone’s home. My nephew is getting us passes to the Clubhouse level, which is where most of you all prolly are anyway.

Alternative #2 - I’ll gladly have folks over when UK/UCLA play. I told @80 Proof that an Uber to my house from the city would cost less amongst 4 people than a bar tab of drinking ****** bourbon. @wcc31

either that or Atlanta.
