So the Ky Teachers Pension lost millions of dollars in investments it had in a Russian bank.
And the taxpayers will not only foot the bill, we will have to listen to teachers cry on social media about their pension.
" PENSION IS A PROMISE".
I heard tonight on Comment on KY that they sold out like Feb. 23 - before the big drop from the war. And they'd had a big runup.

There was no big " runup". They purchased $15.6 mill worth in 2017 and sold on Feb 23 for $12.4 mill.
That's a $3.2 mill loss.

There may or may not have been some dividends paid out in that time. I'm just questioning why the teachers pension is invested in Russian banks. Seems very volatile and risky.

Had intentions of taking a long weekend and heading to Tampa for the tournament but the whole being diagnosed with colon cancer kind of put a halt to those plans.

Fortunately, the doctors caught it before it spread to any lymph nodes and were able to remove part of my colon and all of that jazz. I hate being laid up recovering, sore as hell, and having 14 staples from my belly button to just above my pecker but the artist formerly known as wildman has rid himself of the tumor and has the next 3-5 weeks off of work to kick back. Sitting around getting to watch every conference tournament and the NCAA’s may be worth having to go through all of this current misery in my gut. If only the old Big East were still a thing. Loved that more than the big Dance even though I didn’t have a dog in the fight. It was just good quality ball.

A day like this deserves some old school randoms…

*Coffee, cook breakfast for the kids, golf with buddies, game, neighborhood crawfish boil with parents volunteering to watch the kids. After a winter of more Covid (during Christmas), tornado, and ice storm I feel like Andy Dufresne reaching towards the heavens.

*I’m agnostic towards Pitino at this point but I don’t know how any cayt fan has an ounce of respect or fondness for Billy G. Sutton was a pariah for decades and all he did was sip some brown water and get framed by the NCAA. Billy refused to sign a contract, philandered his way around town (allegedly with coeds and his player’s gf), berated players beyond normal coaching, treated Tom Leach and the press in general terribly for no reason, offered a bunch of 1 stars when he knew he was leaving as an eff you, then sued the university…oh, and he was a terrible coach.

*I want to do a long weekend (4 days, 4 nights) with my wife this summer for our 10th. Maybe Boston then drive for a couple days up the coast in a rental. I’m still a little weary of Covid protocols in the NE. What say GYERO? P.S., I could see myself blowing that earmarked money on NO if we made the F4…she loves the place so it wouldn’t be a hard sell.

*This team both makes me confident because they are adults and nervous because they are so delicate both in offensive rhythm and injury proneness (is that a word?). Would make me feel good to see TyTy drop 20+ today.

*Wife and I are doing the low carb thing in preparation for the warmer months. Can’t tell a huge difference in weight a couple weeks in but I will say you feel less bloated and it seems to be good for energy level.

This. Is. March.

Everybody in the house still sleeping. Only 2nd time ever our 2.5 year old has made it to 8am. 2 cups of coffee and my morning dump in peace. Life is good.

Edit: wife just informed me she was up with her for several hours overnight. Everybody is now cranky and up.
Ah, I miss those days of score-keeping and passive-aggressive resentment re who was up the most with the kid last night. What treasured memories.

Maine is sneaky larger than you think to drive. By the time you get to Kennebunkport or Portland you realize Bar Harbour is another 3-4 hours away. We ended up driving up to the White Mtns in New Hampshire then over to Vermont to tour (eat) the Ben & Jerry's factory. Newport, RI is also worth a day's drive to tour the mansions on the coast also if you've never been there.

Other than getting a lobster roll, I really have no desire to go the Northeast for a vacation. I'll stick with Florida until New Orleans gets its **** sorted out.

It would be nice if KSR would post when the pre and post game shows start the day before so I don't have to constantly check twitter.

Auburn fans been watching Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia?

Screw Coach K and all, but this comment about how long a coach would have to be at a program if he started today is somewhat shocking. Like most of us wouldn’t be around to see the end of it.

Louisville fandom is very very bizarre, almost cult like. Seems any Louisville fan with a Twitter account is some kinda insider and one is a bigger douche than the next. I’d be embarrassed for them if I didn’t hate them so bad.

- Louisville does suck. So much so that it’s hard to imagine it being worse, and it’s a lot worse than then mediocrity they ran Crum off for.

- UK only -4.5 today is worrisome. Shouldn’t even be a game, period.

- Just because, I’m cheering for UNC today, F Duke.

- Got our Goalrilla goal finished this morning and it’s done nothing but blow wind since. Kids can’t even enjoy it on a day that would be perfect to hang outside all day.

- Pork Butt smoking. 2-3 more hours and I’ll probably gain 5 pounds today.

- This 16YO Alberta Rye I got at 140 proof is dangerously sweet with all the heat on the back end. As much as I’d love to release it at barrel proof it’s just so much better in the 120’s.
