Remember when people thought we could platoon this year?
That was my first thought: 3 weeks for a dislocated finger? Dude...tape that thing to the finger next to it and roll on!
I know this point has been made numerous time by myself and others on here, but did a happy of fame coach look at the current roster he had and think “yeah I’m good”. How do you not add another playmaker or a stretch four, or another shooter, this desperately needs more offense and defense be of the three on combinations of the 3 would help, but our hall of fame coach didn’t think so
Everyone said we needed another 2 guard this summer., except cal.
Everytime I think about, I honestly don’t know what cal was thinking, you can’t win games consistently in college anymore scoring in the low to high 50s,
It was his shooting (right) hand. One of the middle 2 fingers since those 2 were taped together in 2nd half. So even if he could play, not sure I’d want him to for couple weeks, because it would affect his shot.

Not like he was doing much anyway. Maybe we get a better rotation going. At least Reeves has been scoring a little and he can have the minutes. Cal needs to smarten up and play Adou and Ugonna more. But not 3 big men and we don’t need Ware playing 30 minutes a game.
We lose our shooting guard and Cal says, “next man up” and says he needs to play 6’9 PF Damion Collins more. Makes sense. I guess Cal can go big now.
It’s more just the threat of having another shooter, if this gets theiro going then it will be a blessing in disguise

I agree, I like the threat but he gets beat on defense and hasn’t even taken shots let alone made many. Cal can’t get him open. I keep hoping we get to the point of a decent offense and he can shine like at Iowa but Cal gives me no hope of such changes coming.

I can totally see this too. That’s a scary thought but probably the correct one. Adou will sit on the bench until we get down 18 again.
I swear, can he break the game down and then send it to Cal to learn what to do? But like you said, wire him $60 million/6 years and tell Cal to hit the road.
That’s the biggest issue is the lack of plays to get shooters open, and terrible spacing. A team who struggles to score losing a potential scoring threat can’t help
What does Thiero have to do with this? Haven’t you heard, he’s a 4. LOL!
I’m just trying to wrap my head around all this. We are struggling at the 4 and Cal wants to play Thiero a 6’6 guard more. Then we lose a SG and he says Collins (a 6’9 forward) more.
What’s next? Going to run Onyenso at PG? Wheeler going to backup Tshiebwe at the 5?

I think a finger cast or anything to help it heal would seriously impact his shooting accuracy not to mention the possibly if reinjuring it again.
Fredrick was 3of 4 from 3 in the game before last. He definitely needs to be set up and be in rhythm to be his best from 3. Cal’s offense does little to set players up for good shots. I don’t blame Fredrick at all like some of you. The kid can’t help it if he gets injuries.

His replacement(s) will be a statistical wash offensively, but we should be better defensively with CJ out of the rotation.
One less guy Cal has to play which fits his scheme to play fewer players.
