Flood carries on Schinao's time-honored traditions of recruiting felons, creating drama, and losing.

What the hell was the university thinking when they allowed these kids to even be on the practice field? And, let's not even get into the innocent until proven guilty. Now we find ourselves with numerous holes to fill and the email s*it storm gaining force with the season starting. What a friggen mess!
I agree to some extent but an arrest does not mean they are guilty. The players have rights, and as I stated before are Innocent until Proven Guilty!
I will admit it doesn't look good...at all. any Lawyers on this board want to weigh in on what the challenges immediately ahead for these players?

If they have been investigating a fight from April, it must have been pretty damn serious.

Yeah, true. Didn't think of it that way...

Same thing happened in basketball (late 90s). We came back from a game or a trip and the police/detectives were waiting at the RAC for one of the players (who then got detained).

Let Flood stumble his way to another bowl game in the big ten with Schiano's players. Fire him afterward citing off-field issues. Hand Schiano a blank check (not really but pay him) and all will be right again.

people who harbor pedophiles, shouldn't throw stones
I agree with you, but that's not what happened. And it certainly wasn't a football problem. What's going on here is a BIG football problem.

Oh, and I did not harbor any pedophiles. Hope you haven't either.

Well after briefly thinking of ripping up my tickets (not really) I have decided to support the team. It's a disappointing situation but we still have to play the games. Some others will need to step up even though they may not be ready. I feel especially bad for Hamilton and Carroo. I will attend the games as I have for 30 years and hope for the best.

All the players involved should be kicked out of school, no question. Just don't think that Flood should lose his job for this. However, It looks horrible combined with his silly email investigation.

Ugh, sorry to hear about this guys. Especially a couple days before the season.

Doesn't sound too good for the players, just sucks for the fans and their teammates.

As for Flood, this specific issues isn't he fault and he shouldn't be fired for these arrests. I'm not sure what is true or false about the grades thing, but I think it's ****** that he can't or won't comment on it, but the university is leaking information. That's just BS from the university.

Would you care to enlighten this board with your version of what happened? It could be a brief but entertaining distraction from the RU player arrests.
And keep dreaming if you think what happened at TTFP wasn't a B1G football problem.

Been there, done that, as have many others. But if one's mind is totally closed, there's no talking to such a person. I suspect you are in that category. And it absolutely wasn't a football problem. That I can and will say unequivocally.

CFB is a big scam. The scholarships are a total joke. They are giving scholarships to thugs who are not there to become scholars.

Soooo... the other 95% of college football players who work hard, study and keep their noses clean should be lumped in with these guys? Talk about throwing the baby out with the bath water.

This is a problem throughout major college football and basketball. It's not a Rutgers problem, it's systemic throughout Division I, and no school is immune. I've said many, many times, the mission of universities and the the mission of major college athletics aren't even close to being aligned. You can either bury your head in the sand (which all of us posting on these boards do to a degree) or divest yourself of it. It's tough...
SIR..I take my hat off to you.....VERY well stated!

Looks like an institutional culture problem. Way to go guys....making Commissioner Delaney look like a bigger fool than his usual self for letting you into the B1G.
Why would you state this? Every school has issues and take chances sometimes. No reason to rub salt in the wound. We sure as hell don't like it.

You are an idiot. Schiano seldom had this happen when he was the coach.
Cannot believe that no one in he locker room knew about this. One two people I get 5 and additional not on the team way too many people involved for there not to have been whispers.

I doubt Flood had a ton of knowledge around this. He wasn't getting half of his D backfield ready to play knowing they were about to be arrested. I'm guess the PD played this close to the vest.

Do you currently share these same sentiments towards the PSU administrators situation (cover-up)? Or, are those guys guilty anyway even though it's been 4 years since being charged and have yet to have a trial date set (how is that right to a speedy trial workin out for them).

Honest question...

Agree-innocent until proven guilty, but this looks bad and if in fact they are guilty these are some major idiots that were invited to our school. Really ticked off right now - that's the only way I can describe my feelings. Shamed themselves and our University.

The fact that the teflon AD announced the suspensions could be a good indication that KF is on his way out the door. No way he gets through this and coaches Saturday.

This is why I never take joy in problems at another program.
I agree with this. I don't really comment much on that kind of stuff. When you have that many guys coming through year after year the possibility always exist of something like this happening. I always wonder what goes through these guy's heads. Full ride, got a great chance to start off life on the right foot debt free and they make bad decisions.

I don't understand why these guys would resort to criminal activity when they had so much going for them, they were going to be rich. I don't understand it. Do they have low self esteem? Is committing crimes their life style? What a sin.

How were they going to be rich? None were serious next level prospects....at least not yet.

Boggs seems like real scum. Barnwell an idiot. Peele a lost cause.

Justin Francis? Chris Demarest?

There was also the time that Schiano refused to pull an offer to a known rapist from Plainfield until ESPN ran the story.

That's the reason I kick their a$$es off the team..not for stealing some weed or getting in a fight (unless somebody got really hurt or the theft was really criminal ..and I don't mean a crime)..

could always use the FSU QB Winston's line and say "I forgot to pay for it"
