I guess I'm different but when a guy 6 ft 11 wants to walk away from me, I have no problem letting him go by.
I didn’t watch but something must have happened during the game.
I don't know how to post tweets here but a Wisconsin coach while walking away gave UM a big ole SUCK IT...hilarious

Well, I was taking Howard's size out of my general statement, but I have to believe Gard would not have done that if he thought Howard was going to go off like that.

Wisconsin had the scrubs in.
They kept losing the ball.
Gard called a timeout with 15 seconds to go to coach scrubs. And to reset 10 seconds for back court.
Howard took offense to the timeout.

He was trying to talk to him Jeff but it’s the way he went about. Grabbed his arm in an irritated way in a moment when you knew Jawan wasnt going to react well to that. Whisky coach was clearly miffed that Jawan was going to blow by him so it was the perfect storm. Japan still has more to apologize for but no question the manner in which the other coach confronted him set it off.
don’t get me wrong… I would probably have done the same as Wisky coach as I can’t stand a pouter and I wouldn’t just take the blow by without saying something.

Agree with that. And I believe this is the second time that Howard had got into it with someone in the handshake line. But I’m sure Michigan will try to smooth it over.
I’m certain their are other reasons, but I’m sure this is also one of the reasons that Calipari has stopped with the handshake line.
Could someone who watched please explain the timeout situation that seemed to stoke the tempers that led to the postgame fisticuffs? Didn't see it posted (or maybe I missed it).

Michigan kept pressing even when the scrubs were in the game under 30 seconds down by a big amount. They stole the ball several times and scored and gard called a time out to coach them. That was with 15 seconds or so. Howard took exception to that. I understand howard but I also understand that they were pressing. Don't press when the game's over.

Wisconsin called a timeout while Michigan was pressing their benchwarmers. I believe calling a timeout resets the 10 second backcourt rule so the Wisconsin Coach called the timeout so they wouldn’t have a turnover.
He will be treated differently than most and will not lose his job due to one thing.

Supension? His lack of control obviously helped escalate the situation and caused his players to start throwing punches...he should be fired.
Who was the Wisconsin coach, is he the HC? He clearly said something that set Howard off. Howard shouldn't have punched him but the Wisconsin guy needs to say his "good game" BS and go on.

There’s talk and then there are fists and Gard did not throw a punch. The punch by the coach escalated the incident IMO.

Nah I understand how you’re looking at it but sometimes you have to know who you’re dealing with . I like Juwan Howard but he seems to have a short fuse .
