He sat Geo for a good time yesterday. He got nothing but a horrible end game pass for it.Sit a player. That sends the better message.

Maybe some of the posters don't have any kids or don't believe in scolding them until they get them out of the supermarket and into the car where they can give them a lollypop. What about ripping a player for that players own good?
Its needed at times from coaches
He did no such thing. Geo got 38 minutes....1 less than Harper. He sat Geo for a good time yesterday. He got nothing but a horrible end game pass for it.
It was a 45 minute game . He played 32 in regulation and while I couldn't find the 1st half 2nd half stats I would bet his minutes were down 2 nd half.He did no such thing. Geo got 38 minutes....1 less than Harper.
I understand but he wasn't benched because of his play. He was rested and rotated as usual. He got his regular minutes. He was essentially sans 1 minute tied for most time on the court. It was a 45 minute game . And add to that when was he on the floor and when was he not.

A guy that has 0 points should not also be the guy that plays basically the most minutes on the score sheet.
This goes to the mismanagement of the bench by the staff. I remember when Pike first got here the biggest takeaway was he liked to play a lot of guys and go deep on his bench. His whole philosophy has been turned upside down. He barely uses his bench. Jaden who received rave reviews in the off-season and was supposed to be our 6th man pushing for a starting spot is essentially getting walk on minutes. Even if he's not ready now...not playing him at all will not get him ready for next season. He didn't quite get his regular minutes, but he wasn't really sat especially long, either. In the 5 games leading up to NW, Baker was seeing 36 min/g and he got 32 in regulation. So, that was only about a 10% reduction. But then he played the whole overtime.
Thing is, who did we have to give his minutes to? McConnell was also sitting, and only got 16 minutes. Miller was given 9 minutes (tying is most minutes since 1/1/22) and got no shots up (he's only gotten up 1 shot in his last 51 minutes).

The reason you don't have someone to spell Baker or RHJ is because you failed to develop guys to spell them like Jones or Miller earlier in the year.
I'm thankful for where Pike got us and he's a great guy but I see the direction of this program and it's all downhill at this point in time. He has time to turn it around but something drastic needs to happen in the offseason.
Both recruits coming in had no stars and no decent offers until they committed and we are losing Jaden to the portal and RHJ and Baker. We lost Mathis JY and Myles last year to the portal and didn't replace them with anyone that's made any impact. We have nothing outside of Cliff and Paul....that's all we have next year. Unless he revamps the staff entirely and brings in 3 starting caliber transfers in the off-season, Hobbs needs to start creating a short list at some point next year for a new hire in 2023.
It's not at all about looking at our current record and where we are now....it's solely looking at what talent is coming in v leaving and where we will be talent wise next few years.....and it doesn't look pretty.
