Gonna be sad to see him go, he really did make huge improvements throughout the season and never seemed to get down (that we could see) about the process. Excited to see what he can become at the next level.

If he gets an average shot then he can be like a Derrick Rose type. I really believe that. His athletic ability and ball handling is at an elite status

Best of luck Tre! His stock will rise at the combine and I think he can go late first round. His measurables and potential is going to be hard to pass on. He improved his perimeter shooting and if he continues, he will be making some money. His game is made for the NBA.

In a weird way, I kind of feel for him. He didn't get to play like he could. This Duke team didn't fit him with the two bigs. He was kind of like a sports car asked to drive the family around.

Kept his head up all year, and improved a lot along the way. He will only get better every year in the pros. Best of luck to Tricky Tre.

If he continues to develope his shot he will become a good starting point in the league.

Tre was totally under appreciated the entire season.

Bunch of people around here that are spoiled as hell.

I will dearly miss Trevon, kid was a stud, and much more of a floor leader then he’ll ever get credit for.

Best of Luck Mr. Duval, can’t wait to watch you grow

Thought Duval did a good job this season. He had his struggles, he wasn’t Kyrie nor will he be, and I still hold my breath every time he shoots outside of 10 feet but he was really solid for us this past year. Not only that but he handled himself like a man even when faced with adversity. Good luck dude!

He was ranked the top PG and 6th best overall player. He didn't come close to living up to those rankings. If he had been ranked more in the 15 - 25 range, expectations would have been tempered.

I think the other reasons he attracted more than his share of criticism were his poor shooting and just poor decision making, especially in crunch time.

In hindsight we got a PG who wasn't a natural passer, couldn't shoot, and played with poor awareness. I think the criticism was justified.

Best of luck Trevon.

Trevon's season was a bit of a roller-coaster, I still remember the 2nd half of the MSU game where he got multiple huge buckets, seems like forever ago. I think everyone would have been happy to just get Trevon's A-game come March, and that's what we got, he played great when it mattered most.

Sad to see him go, great kid, great player and most of all I think he loves DUKE. I don’t agree with the negative criticism some have shared, he's not perfect but he was for sure an above average college PG (IMO) and he competed every time out on the floor. I think he will be a great Pro. Thanks for your service Tre best of luck at the next level.

10 years ago, Duval would have stayed for 3 years and been a polished point guard when he came out. Now, he has to go pro before he's ready to avoid the risk that he doesn't progress as quickly as the pros expect him to.

In all fairness, if he can make decent money next year, and has no limits on the time he can spend on his professional, why shouldn't he leave.

Everyone realizes that guys try to get to the NBA as early as possible because it's all about getting to the 2nd contract, right??? That's where the real money is.

I wish an extra year in college could count as a year in the pro's and still allow a guy to get to that 2nd contract in the same year as if the guy left college immediately.

Wish him luck and a long successful career. He wasn't a JWill or Kyrie type freak guard, and thats what people wanted because of his high school ranking. Kid was a solid contributor and really improved all around as the year went.

Let me guess Grayson would’ve been better at PG huh? Hahaha. Tre is definitely a passer. We just didn’t really run an offense to his strengths. He’s a creator that likes to penetrate and dish. The offense at Duke doesn’t tailor to that kind of point guard. Coach K likes guys that’ll play around the perimeter and shoot periodically. Trevon is an attacker that wants to pass the ball. He will excel in the pick and roll heavy league. Rondo still can’t shoot but look at him

While I partially agree with you. He came to play when we needed him most, in March. I'll take an erratic January and February all day if it means we get a guy's A-game in March, and Duval gave us just that. He was our best player against Kansas.

Whoever said Tre wasn't a natural passer needs to get their eyes checked.

He was a fantastic passer. I'll miss him, he played with fire and confidence and seemed to be the key to many comebacks with timely shots.

If anyone else played even a B grade game vs Kansas to go along with him, Duke wins.

1. He was ranked the top PG
2. He didn't come close to living up to those rankings
3. In hindsight we got a PG who wasn't a natural passer, couldn't shoot
1. It was a weak year for PGs
2. The rankings reflect long-term potential, so the jury is still out.
3. This was known coming in. His ratings reflected his athleticism and assumed the skill level would eventually catch up.

For heaven's sake, get off the kid's ***.

I wish him the best. I've been really disheartened by the backlash he was getting on the public social media spaces by Duke fans with his announcement. I understand frustrations with certain one and dones, but they all come along at different rates. He arguably was our most improved player from start to finish.

Why would any kid want to come here if fans are going to act like that?
