There just isn't much room in today's NBA for slow-footed big men, unfortunately. Tim Duncan was the last of a dying breed. Jahlil Okafor, Jabari Parker.... those guys had big offensive games but they just couldn't really compete in today's NBA game in the way people thought they could. I think Vernon Carey is probably a less talented version of either of those guys, so it won't shock me if he can't carve out an NBA career. But i hope he proves me wrong. i've been wrong plenty on this board, one more time won't hurt.I'm impressed that Tre Jones is doing so well, even with a bad team.
Gary Trent has exceeded my expectations. Good for him!
So has Seth Curry. His numbers are outstanding!
I am disappointed for Vernon Carey. I thought he'd develop into a decent pro. He seems to be Europe bound.
I wish that most of these guys had been at Duke more than about 8 months.
