Too many little mistakes tonight and just unbelievable that we didn't have a single free throw.
We got a wide open 3 look with 8 seconds left, pretty decent execution imo
FT attempts 21-0 is the only stat that matters in this one. A lot earned by dook, but c’mon!
Just checked the last 6 seasons, no games where we had 0 FTs
I’ve lost count of how many games Nivar has screwed us out of this year. Yes it was a BS charge call but you just can’t do that that late in the game right in front of a ref.
Even with the other worldly disparity in FT’s we were just a couple of mental errors away from winning this game without RK. Amazing.
Careful. Duke men fans of complained that UNC got called for only 1 foul in the second half last weekend.
The fact they didn’t review that earlier play when Nivar got hit in the face should have told us how bad the refs were going to be.
Somehow they ended up being worse and dook shot 10 more free throws to our 0.

Big difference in that the Dook women pressed and played man to man the whole game. Our men didn’t press and played a soft man to man!

A real quality effort against a good dook team. Needed a bit better late game execution and some better officiating, but we saw some folks step up and fill Reniya’s role. I think we get them in Carmichael if we play like that.

I want to say second half towards the beginning. Basically Nivar was playing pressure defense and somewhat knocked the ball loose, the dook guard (Jackson) recovered the ball and then swing through with her elbows high and I am pretty sure hit Nivar in the chin or nose.
It was not a basketball move and happened right in front of the same ref who made questionable call and no calls all day.

Not a good outlook especially since she has already been a shadow of herself all season. Hard to expect a decent version of RK if she does return.
TQ had an excellent game today. Good game overall. We missed a couple of point blank layups. I thought the game plan and coaching was excellent. We did have our chances to win this one. Hats out to Duke. They are a very good team. Hopefully, NC State can beat them on Thursday. It is going to be tough beating them at Duke. We will just need to win the next games coming up one at a time. Go Heels!
