Donovan was asked directly about the IU job and (as you might expect)he denied any interest in the job what so ever. Many pro coaches feel that a high profile college job is more demanding than a pro job because of all the demands in the college game besides merely coaching basketball. i.e. no recruiting, no college financial contributors, little smoozing required etc.. I have heard more than one coach with pro and college experiences indicate that they liked the pro coaching lifestyle better than college.Pti is reading IU boards. Donovan will not go to Indiana.
If he does indeed take the job, then IU automatically is "back", IMO. He'll be able to recruit at a very high level and have them back on the map very quickly.
when they piked duke to win it all :-DWhen is the last time those buffoons were right about something like this?
Jay Williams? hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahit was a topic on pti, with both Tony and Jay Williams saying he should do it.
I think theyre nuts… But that would be one hell of a coup! .
Conspiracy theories! Love them. Heat that, UCLA fans.LOL Alford is their coach . The end.
Yeah, and I'm sure his wife would love the Bloomington winters. Oklahoma City is bad enough but that part of Indiana is worse.Donovan is making 6M a year and has a winning record. OKC may lose him but to a better franchise, not IU. Matching his pay would almost double what they paid CTC and is a couple M more than the highest paid coach in the B1G. There is no way that's happening.
Not at all, he's irrelevant in the NBA. Russell Westbrook runs the Thunder, not Billy Donovan.Hard to see Donovan coming back to the college game.
So,, IU is going to give BD 9 million per year?Alford is not happening. I assure you.
And as far as money goes we will easily give Donovan as much if not more than Cal makes.
Would be interesting if he did win the title at UCLA and leave for Indiana. I don't remember anyone ever doing that.Alford is not happening. I assure you.

Donavon is one of the best coaches in the business, I really didn't blame him for leaving Florida, football school nothing more.

Surely he'll wait till Sunday [winking]Fake...Alford will announce IU is his new job on Saturday
he'd be worth every penny, but i'm with you. they can't attract him to what is an infinitely worse position, even if they increased his pay to $8M a year.Donovan is making 6M a year and has a winning record. #endthreadDonovan did it after winning the title at Florida and left for ... oh wait.
Never mind.
