Listen he’s a number 1 recruit. We have to protect his ****ing draft stock. I’m still unsure why wall or Davis played. Cals fake visit to tornado land makes sense
He was not a #1 recruit when he came to UK.

Here’s my take. I don’t blame the kid for going pro, player’s like Sharpe don’t come around very often the kid is a special talent and deserves to be able to follow his dream and get paid… I wish the kid the best. With that said Cal knew what kind of roster he has coming in next year it’s weak and he shouldn’t have taken a commitment from Sharpe because it deterred other recruits from coming, now had the roster been loaded with talent you take that gamble and take a commitment from Sharpe. Now Cal is blaming fans for his recruiting mishaps. Typical Cal, pointing fingers at everyone else but himself!

Keep saying it and it keeps falling on deaf ears. This is JC. It’s him. He never, ever, cared, whether Sharpe played one minute for UK. He is as happy as a mule eating briars. He wasn’t fooled about nothing. But he certainly has fooled the majority of the fans. As always. Keep believing his **** and someday we’ll be in the sunbelt, or whatever it’s called now, hoping for a playin’ game. 67 seed.

My only question is did Cal think he had Sharpe as a straight up reclass and would be eligible for the entire 21-22 season.
Did UK compliance shoot down the May graduation and not allow him to enroll in Aug?
Did they honor the Oct grad date paving the way for the second semester enroll?
Did Cal feel like the NBA would not honor the May grad date thus making him ineligible for the 22 draft?
I can see how this was a decent gamble because the whole situation hinges on the May grad date.
If its legit, Sharpe should have been on campus in Aug at the latest.
If its not legit, he should'nt be in the 22 draft.

I blame Cal for not playing and being so scared of his image as a players first coach that he wouldn't do what was best for the program.

Cal would like to think he is thinking long term in protecting recruiting.

The problem is every decision he makes is about protecting recruiting and not about winning a championship.

He had fans believing at one time they were inclusive, but now that he is incapable of putting the best recruits in a deep tourney run, his approach is an exercise in futility, at the expense of the program and UK's history.

The Cal that was at Memphis, would have got Sharpe and then would have played Sharpe and when Sharpe's mentor objected, he would have told Washington to FO, who do he thinks he is telling John Calipari what he will and will not do with a player - as any coach worth his salt would have done in that position.

And if Sharpe would have refused to play, he would have told him to go home . Cam'ron Fletcher style..... and then Cal would have went into the Kentucky isn't for everyone routine.

The Cal we have now has his head so far up his own butt he's forgot how to be the leader of young men. He'd rather be their de-facto agent.

Sharpe wasn't going to refuse to play. The hit he'd take for refusing to play at Kentucky would have dropped his NBA projected draft rankings. which is the same leverage he was holding Cal hostage over.

I don't know if he is doing that yet, but you could read the writing on the wall for this going way back.

Its going to be the fans fault that Sharpe went pro. He really wanted to come back but the fans made the environment toxic for him. He had no choice but to leave.

I can easily see that narrative, hell, Tucker will probably tweet it in about 3 weeks.

Cal needs to admit to himself that the "players first" gimmick no longer works. Heck, Anthony Edwards went to Georgia and was the number 1 pick. Kids don't need UK to live their NBA dreams. The best thing he could do is run a modern offense and not play two back to the basket bigs that nobody else is using. Kids with NBA dreams can't lay in the post with their back to the goal. Even Player of the Year Oscar was sent back and told to develop a three point game. The new stigma on Cal is that his kids are having better success in the NBA than they do in college is because they are playing in a better offense once they go pro..

That troll is always causing problems on here. He hates me because I’ve called him out on it.

Bizarre rant. I was talking to my Dad last night and told him that there are people of all ages that chase people around the internet calling them trolls and whatnot. He said that’s just what kids do. I said no, some are 50, 60 and over 70. He thought that was just pathetic.

Also, hate is a nasty word. Hope you do t hate anyone.

You tell your daddy how you like to start trouble on a message board and get banned constantly but keep coming back to start trouble? You’re a really weird person, and YOU are the one that’s BIZARRE. Keep posting weird **** like this. Lmao

Yes and No. Its technically not Cal’s fault he was scammed by Sharpe. He took advantage of a loophole to bypass college and he probably won’t be the last. However, I can’t believe Cal was dumb enough to believe Sharpe was going to be come back once he knew Sharpe was eligible for the draft and was expected to be a top 10 pick. They tried to keep that under wraps for a time but when that became public knowledge Cal should’ve at that point told Sharpe the cat is out of the bag (no pun intended) and you either play or move on.

The larger issue I have is Cal was okay with this kid sitting the bench and just not caring that it’s going to upset the fan base. Thats why it’s time to move on from Cal. He wants nothing more than to see kids go pro and he wants to set up their lives. That’s his number one priority. It’s probably always has been but now it’s reached a fever pitch where it directly affects UK’s program. Sure, he wants to win because it brings joy to the kids on the team. He doesn’t like losing but that priority is now moving further and further back every day.

You got the wrong guy. Go Cats and good luck finding any trouble I’ve “stirred up”.

Any thoughts on UK basketball or are you just here to harass new posters?

Cal 25%
sharpe family 25%
washington 50%

I think Cal trusted someone he had dealings with before and he got used. At some point did he realize it? Of course he did but it was too deep in. Should he have sent Sharpe packing, no. Other coaches would have used that against him in recruiting. When Cal met with Sharpe in February I think they agreed he would play. But Sharpe told Washington about this and he squashed it by telling Cal again Sharpe would play next year, but not this season. Plenty of blame to go around. If he does stay in the draft I’ll be glad this saga is over. Finish the roster and get ready for next season.
I agree whole heartedly with what you said. Where I blame Cal is when the injuries started happening and Cal looked down the bench to substitute and told Sharpe "your up, let's go" -- then if Sharpe refused to go and play I would have severed the ties right then and there. It is a two way street, not just Sharpe taking and no giving. There has to be a line drawn.

The only issue I have is that I was reading this thread, came across you calling another poster silly names (stirring up trouble) and messing up the thread, so I asked you how old you were. So now you are accusing me of stirring stuff up when I witnessed you stirring stuff up. It’s always the trouble makers pointing the finger. Best of luck and hope you can contribute like an adult.

First time you’ve came back in a new account and tried to go this route with it. It’s to bad you forgot you already let everyone know who you were with the first posts you made on the board. Lying your way through life isn’t a good strategy. Have a good Sunday.

I’ve read this board for some time and whoever Frank Underwood is can easily be spotted as Low Country and Kentucky Cried. His hate is sickening. Hopefully you’ll take your own advice. But I doubt it as you won’t admit your own bad behavior yet you accuse others of it. Sad.

Apologies to the OP. A very intriguing thread

You need to apologize for a lot more then that. You’re not fooling anyone. Remember the daddy speech you gave? You’ve done that before. Word for word on another account. It’s getting to the point that I feel sorry for you. Like this post you made up. That’s what’s sad.
