I never said that I don't care if they win. I merely stated that I don't let it run my life.

As far as the red pants goes....sometime in the 1960s. That's a good enough answer...especially when you gave a similar answer to my question on Joe Partington.

They wore red jerseys over red pants in 1986 against Oklahoma....only time they did so.

George Filppin was the first black player in the 1890s...but then blacks were banned from playing for the Huskers until the late 1940s/early 1950s..

First game against an out of state opponent was in 1891, against Iowa (22-0 loss).

For example, iowa, its never won anything of national stage importance, so, last spring, the coach decides not to have a spring game, was the world on fire in iowa? Dont care for wisc and ia but you have to give them credit for recruiting 2 and 3 stars and coaching them up. That still doesnt compare to ohio st that is always in top 5 that loads up on 4 and 5 stars. Nebr needs to win the west in next 2 or 3 years before anyone worries about play offs

Who cares? Nebraska lost alot of natty games, sure, a one loss team is something to hang your hat on, supposedly you were there right?
But, theres absolutely no replacing an undefeated season. To this day, iowa fan runs around with their undefeated season ,losing in the Big championship,then getting drilled by Stanford. It does kind of reset what they were does it not?
Losing to fsu in 93 wasn't great,losing to Miami wasn't great, but iowa fan thumps their own chests, no, not to each other, but to fans of teams who's been there,and know the difference.
It's a shame you are like iowa fan, I suggest you find the mew,sorta fan site, doubt youll find one for the Huskers, but like I said, there's always the pros.

Answering your question in would have to be the upset win against Bud Wilkinson and Oklahoma in 1959.. Obviously there weren’t many wins during that time frame making this the obvious choice..

That Oklahoma win in 1959 was a big one. Since they were our league rivals it's a plenty good enough answer for me. The one I remember the best was the home opener in Lincoln in 1960. On the radio they were calling them the #1 team in the country, Darrell Royal's Texas Longhorns. The Huskers got the big win 14 - 13. I fact checked myself before sending this. Wikipedia says the Horns were rated #4 prior to the game.

Looks like there was talent in Lincoln before Devaney arrived. They could get up for big games, but were very inconsistent. They hadn't won half their games in a season since 1955.

That is what the impartial observer from Tennessee doesn’t realize most of the responses in this thread are related to. All of us here know it is a game played by mostly 18-23 year olds. While you make some good points here, you end it idiotically. Fan negativity is a given. NR has posts defending Iowa, defending Colorado, defending other universities, but not a single post defending Nebraska. Not one. That understandably calls into question his fandom. The frustration isn’t with a single solitary post about 18-23 year olds, like you make it out to be. It’s his body of work. Yes, you think he’s a genius. Awesome. But the way you end your post shows me that you don’t really know what genius level is.

So, I get him to admit his coach holds the key to his kingdom by telling the fan base that thered be no spring game at all, something you too may not get as well, as that is just not acceptable, but went on to explain did it matter is fail personified is it not?
A fan being negative is one thing, but denying participation as no great thing as a fan isn't negative,its fake trollism,weak,and if you agree with him,you too deserve what your king gives you too.

I can’t prove one way or another who you call your team, so I’ve stopped posting in this thread, until Knight in Tennessee claimed impartiality and superior knowledge.

He might be a troll, and my post was an appreciation of that fact. Not because most internet trolls are any good, but because if he is... my god, he’s one of the best I’ve ever seen on the Rivals network.

He’s gone way beyond being an assh01e to get a rise out of you. He’s manipulated you in such a way that now HE is the one saying reasonable things and YOU are responding like an anus.

I’m obviously missing a lot of context, but good grief... you’re either playing into the hands of a master troll by being triggered by everything he says no matter what, or you’re actually the jerks around here. There’s not a third option I can see.

As for what true fan just posts negative thoughts... I’m sure there are plenty of fans on this board who have been overwhelmingly negative over the past several years. The circumstances surrounding your program would make negativity a certainty. But it’s Nebraska Reality’s apathy that bothers you, and it’s likely because on some level you envy him for it. The ability to not let your team hurt you over and over again is appealing.

A non Nebraska fan of Tennessee (or wherever) ’randomly’ stumbles across this thread and sings the praises of one troll. Yeah right. Smells like another troll to me. Either you guys are buddies or one in the same. Go jerk off somewhere else.

yall need to find a rival other than who you think is, Iowa . they have about three others than they put ahead of Neb as far as rivals go . Obviously, Iowa State, then Minn and Wis . iowa fans are no different than Minn, wis, ISU, and so on fans. As far as Iowa fans obsessed with Neb , the Iowa boards have more Neb fans posting crap on it than they have ISU fans or any others, just sayin. It goes both ways ..happy new year

True...I don't swallow the Husker Kool-Aid like I once did...for a variety of reasons.

I have a friend for over 25 years that is a Colorado fan. He did post on here, and was banned for reasons I don't get. Since I defended a friend over anonymous people on a chat board, I'm apparently a Colorado fan.

I pointed out the fact Iowa just won 11 games, despite not having a Spring Game, to someone fixated on Iowa not having a Spring Game. That apparently makes me an Iowa fan.

Dear Scott,
Please get the Huskers in a bowl game every year. I just turned on the TV and Kentucky is playing in one. Illinois has played too. I miss having something to look forward to this time year. Both the Huskies and Cougs got in a bowl so I kind of feel left out. I've been watching most of the bowl games and I miss the Huskers. Love to see Big Red playing again on an annual basis.
