So walk out on that limb smart guy.

Is nick saban better or is mark Dantonio better?

FOR THE RECORD, I KNOW NICK SABAN IS WAY BETTER.

ETA:
And according to your own link, you basically said saban wouldn’t win more than 9 at Michigan state and Dantonio won 11 plus multiple times.

This is a pretty horrendous take.

Even if we want to suspend reality and make the absurd assumption that Saban isn't a great coach, you still have to give him credit for how he recruits and how he runs his program. That's part of being a head coach too.

some may say this is the biggest difference from Saban to all other college coaches.
There are probably 20-30 better NFL coaches than Saban, but in the college ranks no one has been or is better than Saban for the total package.

Think, son.

Saban's body of work is obviously better, for the reasons listed in that other thread. He's considered the best of the modern era for that reason. Could Dantonio have won some national titles had he left Sparty for a bigger job? Maybe. Probably. Match Saban? Doubt it. What IS fact, is that Dantonio matched and exceeded Saban's accomplishments at Sparty (within the first 5 years as well). Dantonio went 11-1 regular season, Saban went 9-2 (would be 10-2 in the modern day 12 game season).

Saban came to Bama after his name was made, and just hit the perfect situation of a program willing to support him at all costs, and it took off. The more relevant question is could Dantonio have matched Saban's results at LSU? Possibly. What he did at Michigan State is remarkable.

I just disagree on his play calling. I think he does a good job.
Fair enough, I'll say that it can be debated. I just saw enough fake punts and QB up the middle 14 times in a row to drive me insane. Also, his insistence to micromanage the offense certainly frustrated some offensive guys on our staff. And we can't really argue about his time management issues.

I started to say his play calling was good except the fake punts. Those were so consistently bad it was impressive.

Sabans not a great coach. Just a great recruiter.

Hell mark Dantonio is better than saban.
Saban's big plus is getting all the Alabama boosters to be on the same page. Before Saban, you had different factions competing to control the booster club. Saban came in, and stopped all that.

Until Texas, USC, and Michigan do this, they'll continue to wallow.

You 100% said saban wouldn’t win more than 9 at michigan state. And Dantonio did 11 5 plus times.

So either A you think Dantonio is better than saban or B you think saban could have won more than 9 at Michigan state or C you are stupid.

If you have the right game plan, for your personnel and your opponent, you shouldn't have to be a genius on game day. Perhaps not in big games where he felt out matched, but week in - week out Dan was strong in game prep. Maybe only a B+ at best on in-game adjustments, not terrible though.
