hahah...the movie that terrified me as a child was some late 70's movie called "Devil Dog" that I watched as a young kid in the early 80's. I recently downloaded it and just like all films of that era, it's really super stupid. LOL.
I'm 33, but I love old.movies. my favorite movie I'd "all the presidents men" and I wasnt even born when Watergate happened

100% YouTube TV bro. All the sports channels. Unlimited DVR. 2 screens per account no matter the location and up to 5 accounts per 1 subscription. Then get an Amazon firestick and learn how to use Kodi for all the movies. Even the ones in the theater. Just get ya some fast internet and cut those cords.
Youi dont need Kodi anymore to watch movies...Just install a couple movie apk's and your set..Alot easier than messing with kodi.

I want to enjoy Kodi, but every time I try to watch movie it gets so buggy. Freezes up, buffering, buffering, freeze up then reboot itself. That thing hates me!
Ditch Kodi and install you a few of the movie apps..Cartoon HD and Bee tv are couple good ones..Zion tv also..

I'm trying SlingTV now on a trial and really like them, especially the price. I don't like that they don't offer local channels so I'll have to get an antenna. Does anybody know if you can somehow DVR local channels? The wife has some shows that come on CBS and ABC and will lose her mind if we can't DVR them.

You can use Hulu to watch just about anything besides CBS shows. That's what I do. Never have to keep up with them or worry about recording them. You just have to wait 24 hours and they are there to stream. CBS has All Access for like $6 if you have to have that channel. Otherwise you have to watch it live over the air with an antenna.

Yall do all of this to save $20 bucks then end up struggling to watch some games. Doesnt seem worth it to me. I could do it in the summer, but not during basketball/football season.

Twenty bucks my @$$. More like $50+.

Internet $75
SlingTV $30
Hulu $12 ($8 with commercials)
Netflix $0 (free with TMobile)
$117

I was paying like $170 just with internet and cable with Spectrum. I never have issues watching games with this setup.

I haven’t had a land line phone in, and I’m guessing, like 15+ years.

I guess if cell service is spotty where you live I could see wanting a land line.

I can sort of understand that except if you have internet access you don't need a land line phone.....IP phones are cheap and effective and offer cheaper better service than any landline.

Kodi Takes a learning curve and requires finding good sources... I watch all the UFC PPV events with it and many movies in theaters with no problems. Im supposed to share some links with a fella on here and I i will when i get time. Feel free to check them out.. You could also download "Addons Kodi" from the android app store and that is one great app for finding quality sources.

I cut the cords but then I couldn’t get my tv to turn on.
I think I know how to fix your problem. You’ll need to take a light bulb out of a lamp that is within reach of your tv. Then grab the end of the cord that is still attached to your tv. Then stick your finger in the lamp socket. You’ll need to make sure the lamp is plugged into an outlet prior to sticking your finger in the socket. Let me know how that works out, once you wake up.

This is what I have:

$50 antenna - I get about 25 channels namely ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC for college basketball/football and NFL games

Xbox One - Netflix, YouTube, couple other streaming apps

Amazon Prime - Pretty much any movie anytime

It's much cheaper than what I'd otherwise spend on cable for a bunch of channels I wouldn't watch. I just go to a bar if there's something I don't get like UFC

50 bucks? Wow..I get 40 or so channels on a 10 dollar Walmart antenna hung on an outside wall. All of the major channels in digital, which now have 3-4 additional channels broadcasting movies and TV series that have ended recently (Like Last Man Standing, 2 1/2 Men, Mike and Molly). Lots of detective shows, real life cop shows, etc. I get 3 separate public television feeds.

I do use my Internet connection on a Roku, (a great bargain at 29.99 on Black Friday)which has about 50,000 free offerings (including channels for my dog). I get the first run movies from European sites, Cam-grabs at first, then HD later. Some Euro sites don't give a crap about pay-fer CBS, so I get the new Star Trek: Discovery free from them. Fox News Live Stream from StreamFare.com, and reddit gives me about 4-5 choices for all UK game feeds. Sometimes, good sometimes bad.

My only constant cost is the damn internet, and Amazon Prime, which gives me other movies, free two day shipping and thousands and thousand of songs.

My wife and I cut the cord about 3 years ago and just pay for the wifi each month. We share a Netflix, Hulu, HBOGo and Prime account with another family member. I'm able to watch games on my Xbox One through the ESPN app (we use my in-laws account for it). I also downloaded the March Madness Live app on the Xbox so I can watch every game not on CBS, which has been nice. It's great app to have on your phone as well during the tournament.

Note, if you have an Xbox One, look into downloading the Kodi app from the "store". We watch all movies and a lot of tv shows for free. Last night the Mrs. watched the new Mary Poppins move for free.

It's worth looking into. I'm sure Reddit will have a thread somewhere on it.

In an interesting twist, Spectrum has offered to lower our Bill to $134 a month, taxes and all. Internet is 70.99 (tax included, free modem) add YouTube TV, and philo and were right about the same price.

Yeah I looked for the $10 variety at a couple different ones (also got mine from Walmart) but they were sold out.

I can probably get more channels but never fooled around with it much after setting it up.

I'm still saving a considerable amount of money each month. Internet is $50. Basic Netflix for like $10. Amazon prime was a Christmas gift.

Definitely a huge reddit fan too

More like a a hundred and twenty. When you are retired, that buys a bunch of stuff. I get where you are coming from, though. I used to spent $120 on lunch for my secretary. Hard to remember her name now...

Until that year is up and then out of nowhere you get a bill more than double that.

I'm expecting Spectrum to raise the internet prices considerably to counter the people leaving them for other TV options. At least in the markets with little to no competition. I wish another big broadband provider would come into the Louisville area. I heard Google backed out of it.

I’m intrigued by the YouTube tv. Don’t laugh, but I have 10 tv’s throughout the house. Could I run them all with one subscription or would I need multiple?

You can have up to 6 different users on your account, but only three simultaneous streams.

Wanting to cut out my cable subscription and wondering if others who have done this can share ideas for how to continue watching our cats.

Thanks

I cut the cord about 6 years ago.

I use an Amazon Fire TV stick to watch Sling TV, which has all of the ESPN channels and the SEC Network. Also has TNT and TruTV so it works for the tourney too.

I use an HD antenna to get local channels CBS, ABC, Fox, etc in HD over the air.

All of Kentucky's games will either be on SECN, ESPN, ESPN2, CBS, etc., so I never miss a game. Ever.

You can also get a DVR option with Sling.

I pay about $57/month for my version of Sling, and obviously still have to pay for Spectrum internet, but I still save about $40/month over what I was paying when I had a HD DVR through Spectrum.

As long as you have good internet (at least 6 mbps), the Sling is HD quality with no lag.

I don't view saving $40/mo, and would likely be more savings than that at today's cable prices, as not being worth it. That's $480/year. That's nearly 2 months worth of car payments for me. It makes a difference.

If I was them I'd put the screws to us for internet and about give the TV away or close to as possible and still profit as long as you keep both and clear out the whole cord cutting wave.

I've had trouble with Hulu Live and ESPN. I can watch ESPN through the ESPN app using Hulu as my provider, but on Hulu live, it constantly locks up and throws me off of Hulu. So, I cancelled Hulu. I generally use a XBMC box with Kodi to get everything, but have and use Sling just because my wife likes the cable like interface/guide. But, by and large, I pay $59.95 for the fastest internet available and bought the XBMC box for $100. I get pretty much every channel, including PPV and movies in theaters after they've been out a few days. I do have a VPN to protect in case I'm not supposed to do this. Also, my problem with YouTubeTV is that with a roku stick, there is not an app, so you have to have a Chromecast or something similar and cast from another devise to your tv. Too cumbersome for a man my age.

Yeah, I pretty much stopped. Thought it was my internet, but I can watch 4K on any other service. It’s just the luck of the draw on what source you are streaming movie from. Apparently they all suck on kodi.

I have the issue with no viable internet yet. I pay about 120 or so for DirectTV(I have 4 TV's as well, plus insurance) and I'd have to spend 100 for a satellite or hotspot internet, then pay $60 for DTV Now to get the same channels that I currently watch

Haha, just be sure and add the NCAA tournament to your library and all games will be recorded. don't forget the quality button in lower right hand side of player. goes all the way to 1080p @ 60 FPS.

while you are watching something use your roku remote and hit the down arrow. the progress bar and options will come up...right click over and click the "..." option...there you'll discover more options and quality is one.
