Lock him up.

That is true. How do you get around it? You can't. But what they can change is the foundation system they have. Politicians can set up foundations that can take money from anyone and any amount. Put their wife or kid in charge of the foundation and they can be paid unlimited income from the foundation. Hell all it takes is some rich guy wanting a bill passed in the house to donate a few million into the foundation. This is a legal bribe and this has to be change. This is how congressmen get rich. It is wrong on all counts.

Also much like the President can't be charged with a crime while in office, Senate and House members cannot be arrested for crimes when Congress is in session. I do not have a problem with this. It would be real easy to have someone accuse and House member of a crime to keep them from voting because they are locked up. I understand that law.

Also the Speaker of the House does not have to be a member of Congress. Anyone can run for Speaker of the house. What needs to change is the Speaker should not be a member of Congress. Nancy gets two incomes. One for being a House Member and one for being Speaker of the House. Someone out side should run the house. I think it would run better and we probably wouldn't have half the bull **** that takes place, take place. I think there is a reason our founding fathers set it up for the speaker not to be a member of congress.

Just my opinion.

I’m a true republican but this is complete BS if it is all as it appears. I could be wrong but these folks need to be held accountable more. This is one instance and most every person in the legislature makes their money because of this type of intelligence. It’s ridiculous and the laws need to be changed and oversight should increase.

When you think about it, politicians at this level shouldn't even be allowed to own stocks.

I would be willing to pay them more per year for this trade. Give them options that dont include individual stocks. Term limits too. This sort of thing should not happen. Not sure if it's on this level but Feinstein should be looked at too.

Investigate all senators who traded stocks in that period, both Republican and Democrat. Whoever abused their office for financial gain should resign and see some prison time, period.

100% agree. When the dust settles investigate all of them. Make it clear their jobs are to serve us, not themselves.

I just don't think you can prove insider trading. There was enough information publicly available about how bad the situation was in China that I don't think you can make a case.

^^ This. I do think it's a ****** thing when publicly you're spouting one thing and behind closed doors you're making sure you and yours get ahead on the game before the general public has the same facts you do, though.

Maybe not jail time, but these folks don't need to be re-elected.

Senators and Reps should have to place stock holdings in a blind trust for the duration of their terms.

As long as someone can still manage the money and make educated decisions as to how it is managed, then sure that could be a solution.

I'd be fine with it if they had come out and told the public "It's gonna be bad and I'm on my way to my broker to sell all my stock"

But they didn't, so they need to resign.
