Insider trading isn’t illegal for members of Congress.
I see nothing wrong with what he did**

This is new? They pull insider-like crap all the time. Do they become millionaires from the government salary or by how much they rig the game?

Yeah it’s been this way forever. There is a special place in hell for these people.
Terrible, it makes it so much worse how he was telling people it wasn't a big deal, but did this at the same time.

Funny cause I'd just seen him in the news for something related, but different today. Headline reads "Intelligence Chairman Raised Virus Alarms Weeks Ago, Secret Recording Shows"

Eta: see now that this ^ is mentioned in OP's linked article

This guy sounds terrible he also if you can imagine voted against the STOCK act which would prohibit insider trading in 2012: https://www.mcclatchydc.com/news/politics-government/article24723682.html

He was also caught on tape telling a group of donors 3 weeks before a national emergency was declared about how bad it was going to get while assuring the public I believe the next Day that everything was fine

He was only repeating the President and pushing the party line like he was supposed to. What he does with his money is his business. Would you expect him to just piss it away? Would you?

This is America, after all. Get what you can, when you can, however you can. That's what winning looks like, suckers!

Now I'm off to the store for more toilet paper and a few more rounds of ammo.

Since I still don't have enough money to run for the Senate.

Could you imagine how everyone would behave if Trump came out saying it was going to be devastating?

As is every single one of his posts. But some on here don't realize that since he doesn't add ***, and agree with him. I imagine that's why he doesn't get more pushback on his "views".

What would have been nice, and appropriate is: "this is a very serious matter, but we have a plan, and we are going to execute that plan. These will be challenging times economically and socially, but we will get through this." That obviously didn't happen.

He could never get through a statement like that

Without going wildly off topic, saying the opposite of what he meant, saying the opposite of the truth, or puzzlingly calling something "beautiful."

So few facts and sources to be trusted. This thread is an indicator of precisely that. Always an agenda. For senators, presidents, and posters.

When I see people who feign compassion, relishing in others’ missteps they claim will have dire consequences, it really is ... telling.

ETA: For a count of these feigners, check the downvotes.

"Believe me, this pandemic is a great pandemic. Its the best, which makes it difficult to defeat. Incredible men and women are working hard to fix it and my administration is doing a tremendous job of finding a cure. The cure will be a beautiful cure and everyone will love it."

Burr had a series of tweets defending himself and I thought he did a good job. I would post them but I’m walking the dog. It’s not hard to find his Twitter.

The optics aren’t great that he was only 1 of 3 senators that voted against the STOCK Act.

He didn’t address any of the insider trading in those tweets. Also new Georgia senator now in the news for the same thing.

You’re right, he didn’t. I was more referring to the suggestions that he was sharing dire information about the virus and the coming response that wasn’t made available to the public. In fact the day before the speech Trump talked about getting ready for school closures, social distancing, etc.

Kelly Loeffler

If ever there was a superc*nt she is the closest I have seen. In Atlanta getting to watch Doug Collins and Kelly Loefler trying to out-Trump each other is a true race to the bottom. It is vomit-inducing.
