now that our season's over, might as well just lump all the conf tourneys into one big thread. I know there are others "working" today.

Duke sleepwalking 25mins in against 'Cuse

Mich/Indiana in a bubble off in Indy

couple good Big East matchups today, too

one of the best times of the year! happy madness to all!

Was hoping Michigan would beat Indiana, so we wouldn't have to listen to the Hoosiers' annual cryfest about how they absolutely belong in the tournament. Though it will be a little bit less annoying this year, with Archie Miller out of the picture.

Providence very lucky to escape against Butler. I think Creighton might be a quick out in the Big East tourney. Alexander has been fantastic filling in for Nembhard, but the problem comes when Alexander needs a break. Then the Jays have nobody who can break down the defense.

I think Indiana will be in (media loves the B1G, most overrated conf yet again).

agree with you on the Jays. MQ can ugly it up in a hurry with Shaka's defense.

Creighton might pull out a win today, but Alexander will need to play nearly the full 40 minutes. O'Connell is too busying stylin' to handle the ball and Andronikashvili is just way too raw.

I'm going to tune in when we get down to 16 teams in the NCAA tourney

I would love to see any number of deserving mid majors get a chance rather than Indiana or a 17-14 Michigan team.

I don’t think Creighton has the horses to go any deeper in this tournament but man, Alexander is a stud. I would take him right now over a bunch of players who are getting draft buzz.

Explain how Marquette is projected to be a #7 seed vs Creighton as a #11 seed.Creighton went 3-0 vs them this year. Don’t follow how they are 30 slots higher in NET ranking. Makes no sense to me when I compare their Quad 1-4 records. Is it all SOS?

I can't figure out these metrics or brackets either. Xavier been dogshit for two months now. They shouldn't even be under consideration. Creighton a combined 5-0 vs Marq and UConn, but they're barely in?

Alexander logged 39 minutes today and Hawkins 40. There was a rare Devin Davis sighting with 1 min. Love how hard this team plays but missing two guards is going to be rough.

I don’t get Marquette’s NET either. They have a big non-conference win over Illinois but that only goes so far. Worked out well for Creighton though, because their 3 wins over Marquette carry more weight.

Alexander is a stud. But Hawkins makes them go. Would love to have a guy like Hawkins. Nothing great but just gets things done. Gritty player. He complimented the freshman on that team. Depth will kill Creighton the rest of the way. But McDermott has a way of finding gems and he will get what he needs for next season. You have to respect him.

Hawkins was a great addition, no doubt. But I’ll bet McDermott is wishing he would have found a way to play Alexander and Nembhard more together. O’Connell had some big moments but too often he’s an out of control spaz.

One day I hope to be invested in these games again. Nebraska hoops being such a moribund outfit makes it hard to watch college basketball. It’s like everyone gets to enjoy a cool party and you weren’t invited.

Or, you were invited but weren’t competent enough to get dressed and drive yourself.

Another dumb one is Rutgers. 4th in the big ten. That's a lock. Instead we'll punish them for not getting an easy win or two with a double bye.

St. Johns bailed out Nova. They went cold.
Yeah the Johnnies collapsed. Still have a chance to pull it out, but man they pissed away a big lead.

And what a horrible possession with 1:30 or so to play. Up by one, St. John's runs the shot clock all the way down and doesn't even get a shot. Hate it when teams do that.

Man did St. John's crap the bed. Had two possessions in the last 90 seconds with a chance to stretch a one-point lead, and they go into a total prevent offense. In that situation, I would so much rather take a good shot with :12 on the shot clock than a heave with :01. But it's college hoops, so coaches always have to micromanage the final possessions.

Even Colorado has a competitive team. They took it to Oregon.
Colorado's pretty good - they just don't have enough signature wins to get an at-large. If they upset Arizona tomorrow they'll be on the bubble, but probably still need to win Saturday to get the automatic bid.

Buffs had home games against Tennessee, UCLA and USC and lost all three. Win a couple of those, and they would have a much better resume. They also had a home game with Kansas canceled due to COVID, though I don't think they would have won that one anyway.

Still talk among the bracketology gurus tonight that Creighton is a bubble team and could be out with upsets in the conference tourneys while Marquette is solid. Makes zero sense.

I think Creighton will get in, but I agree with your point. No way did Marquette do that much more out of conference to offset the three head-to-head losses to Creighton.

Might be a Shaka-Smart-the-Media-Darling factor at work here.

Pleasantly surprised to see Penn State upset THEE Ohio State University.

Holtmann is an annoying crybaby. Plus that stupid little mustache makes him look like a lady who missed her last electrolysis session

OSU has blown a lot of leads in the second half this year. They have a lead, go into an offensive shell, and end up losing. It’s why they will get bounced first round of the tournament, IMO. I did win some money taking PSU on the ML at +300 before they took the lead.

Creighton only being 3 point dogs to Providence is surprising to me. Vegas know something we don't?

Providence have been living on the edge all year

they’re the anti-NU, actually winning all their close games

Gotta assume a lot of people are just going to look at the score of their last game and hop all over Providence. Vegas always reels them in.
