62. All on my list were/are great backs. Elliott and Barkley played big in the big games. Both have breakaway speed and power. Both are doing great in the NFL.

Marcus Allen wasn't a blazer. He almost always had a first round pick (or two) on his o-line. In all fairness, so did Elliott.

Look at career stats. They don't belong.

Well I'll take Barry Sanders, Bo Jackson and Eric Dickerson all day long including Sunday's over Elliott and Barkley as those 2 can't even come close to holding a candle to Barry, Bo and Eric as all 3 had home run speed and played in much bigger games and all 3 are legends. Not only did those 3 tear up College Football, they also tore up the NFL which Elliott and Barkley can't even come close to claiming. I'm not taking anything away from them one bit as they are good, just not those 3 good. Just sayin'

In no particular order:
1. Jeff Kinney
2. Mike Rozier
3. L.P.
4. Ahman Green
5. The three headed monster of 'Lighthorse' Harry Wilson, Kent McCloughan, and Bobby Hohn in one backfield.

I'll admit to a smidgen of bias in my rankings, but then I'm a Husker through and through. Heck, I even bleed red.

GOAT is an opinion and we all have one. The first poster's opinion however is from someone obviously young and does not appreciated College Football history at all! Not sure of any of his names are in the top 20 or top 10 or for sure NOT in the Top five!!!!!!!!!!

62 years old.

One additional point. Phillips did not even play a full season in 1995. He had a great offensive line but the speed and power were obvious in '95.

This is a quick short list in no particular order. However, I do believe Herschel is number 1.

Also, I feel many here are overvaluing many RB's based on whom they became in their NFL careers. Retroactive ranking is nice, but many are not among the best in the college ranks only.

jim, bo, herschel, earl, eric, archie, ricky, marcus d., mike, tony, marshall, lawrence, barry, ron, emmitt, ahman, doc, oh and a couple other sooners - billy & "buster" were okay too, elvis - not so much for this list anyway but he was the birth child of sooner magic as i recall.
- there are 18 or so of the top 25, if you need the top 5 ? any of the first 8-10 should work, IMO

I really doubt anyone outside of Nebraska puts LP on this list. Great back but not an all-time great resume. 1,700 yards in 94 sandwiched between a pair of 500 yard seasons. IMO Ahman Green belongs ahead of LP. Better ypc, 1,100 more yards, 15 more TDs in his college career.

Sanders and Tomlinson are titans of the position, especially when you consider that their teams were doormats in those days.

Where do you put guys like Troy Davis? Back-to-back seasons over 2,000 yards for lowly Iowa State.

Wow is all I can say on that list. I would agree with maybe one on that list and that might be a stretch

There shouldn't even be a top 5 list. Barry is in a class by himself. Maybe a 2nd through 6th list would be debatable. Walker, Dorsett, Sims, Peterson, rozier are all worthy of consideration

I will admit, Elliot and Barkley could end up being very, very good and all-timers, IF they stay healthy. Both are strong and fast with pretty intense wiggle. As college players they were pretty damn good.

Herschel Walker, Barry Sanders, Bo Jackson and Earl Campbell were the best that I saw in person. LP of NU could have been in that list if he could have kept everything on the field.
